Rocker Slash was lining up Michael Jackson to feature on his solo album when the singer suffered a fatal cardiac arrest. The former Guns N' Roses star previously teamed up with the King of Pop to record guitar solos on a handful of his tracks and he regrets not asking Jackson to return the favor by singing on his first solo project.

Jackson died on June 25, 2009 just days before he was due to launch his "This Is It" comeback shows in London. Slash says, "When I was thinking about who I wanted to work with, Michael crossed my mind. I thought about doing something that would see him totally cross over into rock."

"But it was around this time last year and he was flat-out rehearsing for the London O2 gigs so in the back of my mind I thought, 'He's not going to have the time.' It's hard to believe he's gone." And Slash admits he is still angry about how the superstar was treated by the public after his child molestation scandal despite his acquittal at a 2005 trial.

He adds, "There was this whole eight or nine-year period in the States where he was cast out. I like to believe he was innocent of the stuff he was accused of. He was acquitted and yet he was totally ostracized. Then he died and you had people crying in the streets. Bulls**t. It really hasn't hit home that he's gone yet."

Michael Jackson was a WARRIOR-in EVERY SINGLE WAY. Yes, of course he was depressed and angry when the families, media, and the prosecution went after him with morbid-relentless energy..and yet he fought, with grace, intelligence, and integrity. Also, he never stopped giving to those in need, helping children, and in loving his own. I too, applaud the way Michael handled all the trouble in his life. I love you Michael Jackson and your beautiful heart..you have inspired me to a better person in every way..RIP, my king, king of pop, king of hearts..

I get so sick of what America had done to Michael,no wonder he did not want to stay here. Well you can't beat him up anymore people cause now he is with the one who loved him the most,GOD. We all should ashamed at how Michael was treated,he was an angel on earth.

Slash, I think it would've been great for Michael to do that but, alas he was too busy and I am a great fan of his so my crying is real I never believed that he had molested any child and I know I was right about Michael. He was a beautiful person from the inside out and people abused him so badly. This is a very very cold world and was not worthy of a beautiful person as Michael Jackson. I have always loved him and hope he is resting in peace now! Believe me he deserved every good thing that happened to him. A great humanitarian. This is one fan that was true to him through all of that made up garbage just so they could try to bring him down and get his money. Well they never did bring him down because he was a go getter and a fighter for his rights. I applaud the way Michael handled all that trouble in his life. He was amazing, because many other people would have laid down and gave up. Rest in peace Michael Jackson.Love you more!
