Wiz Khalifa has released 'For More' music video, which is reportedly about the hip-hop singer and his label Taylor Gang Entertainment's journey to success.
Following the announcement of a record deal between Wiz Khalifa and his Taylor Gang with Atlantic Records last October, the video for one of the tracks off "TGOD Volume 1", "For More", was released on March 15. It features Wiz, Ty Dolla $ign, Tuki Carter and Raven Felix.
In the cinematic video, the quartet are chilling in desert. The beginning of the video shows a quote from African-American social reformer, Frederick Douglass, "If there is no struggle, there is no process." The video reportedly is to acknowledge the journey of Wiz's Taylor Gang Entertainment to success. "Been through so much feel like I've been here before/ and I ain't never gave up once, I'll always be back for more," Wiz raps in "For More".
Taylor Gang Entertainment is a record label founded by the "See You Again" hitmaker. It was named after Wiz's alma mater, Taylor Allderdice Highschool, and his affinity for Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers. It began as a fanbase, but later it became an entertainment company.
The steady rise of Taylor Gang was apparently what made Atlantic Records take interest in them. "Wiz is an amazingly talented artist, songwriter and entrepreneur," Atlantic Records Chairman stated in a press release. "We've been so proud to have him an an Atlantic recording artist for the past six years, during which he also built Taylor Gang into a powerhouse hip-hop brand with a phenomenal fan following."
The 29-year-old hip-hop rapper couldn't hide his excitement about the deal either. He said, "Very excited about the deal with the gang. These guys are my family and friends first, now we're gonna take this s**t to the next level."
On the heels of the announcement, Taylor Gang released "TGOD Volume 1" mixtape, featuring Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, Ca$h Out and the rest of the Taylor Gang. The gang took to their Instagram account to announce 23 tracks off the mixtape.
