The 'Shake It Up' actress can't hide her excitement as she tells Ellen DeGeneres that she indeed will be starring in the upcoming 'Spider-Man' reboot.

AceShowbiz - It was quite a surprise when Zendaya Coleman was reported to have landed a role in an untitled new Spider-Man movie earlier this month. Now, the 19-year-old singer herself has confirmed that she will be starring in Sony's upcoming reboot project.

"I can't say anything else other than I'm going to be in it," she said when asked by Ellen DeGeneres about the casting news. Asked when she would start filming, she remained mum as she claimed, "I have no idea ... to be completely honest."

Though so, Zendaya whose acting credits include Disney's "Shake It Up" and "K.C. Undercover" shared, "But it's very exciting, when it comes to the acting space, I am basically unknown. I've never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else."

She continued, "I auditioned and auditioned and auditioned and [broke] down those walls because a lot of people do have that pre-conceived notion of who I am based off previous things I've done, so you got to really break that down and go hard, put in the work, take all the meetings, take all the auditions."

According to Deadline, Zendaya would play a character named Michelle opposite Tom Holland's Peter Parker. Questions arose since her casting news broke because Michelle's not in the comic books.

Jon Watts is on board to direct the "Spider-Man" reboot, which is due July 7, 2017 in the U.S.
