'Dancing with the Stars' Gets Spooky, Axes Hayes Grier on Halloween Night

Hayes dresses as a werewolf, while Bindi Irwin and her pro partner Derek Hough dance as vampires in the latest episode.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" celebrated Halloween earlier. On Monday, October 26, the show picked "Halloween Night" as the theme of the episode, turning the dance the competition into a horror festival.

Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess were the first pair to dance that night, performing an Argentine tango as Frankenstien and his bride. Carrie Ann Inaba liked it that he stayed in character throughout the performance, but Bruno Tonioli said "it did lose the flavor" of the Argentine tango. Nick earned 24 out of 30 points.

Hayes Grier and Emma Slater came out later, dancing a waltz as a werewolf and his girl. The judges praised their chemistry as Bruno said his lines "were controlled and beautifully placed." The YouTube personality earned 26 points.

Alexa Vega and Mark Ballas danced a paso doble with the pro dancer dressing up as Edward Scissorhands. Carrie Ann commented, "The best thing about that is that I felt you cut off your head and just dance." Julianne Hough also said that Alexa "did good tonight." The actress earned 27 points.

Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced a funhouse-inspired foxtrot. She was so confident in the rehearsal video, but Bruno reminded her that being "over driven" led her to make some mistakes. Julianne and Carrie Ann noted that there was a disconnect. The singer earned 24 points.

Andy Grammer and his partner Allison Holker danced a paso doble as vampires. The judges all agreed that it lacked shape, but Carrie Ann thought "it totally worked." Julianne said she was "extremely turned on" and called the dance "weird and awesome." He earned 26 points.

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough brought the competition to the next level with their Argentine tango, dressing as vampires. The judges all raved about their performance as Julianne dubbed it "so intense." Bindi earned a perfect score of 30.

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold danced a Viennese waltz inspired by the Woman in Black. Julianne thought he listened to the judges and worked on his facial expressions. The judges liked it although they couldn't see his footwork because there's too much smoke. Alek earned 25 points.

Carlos Pena Jr. and Witney Carson danced a "Phantom of the Opera"-themed paso doble. Bruno said it "was almost perfect" but he lost his balance in the beginning. Carrie Ann also liked it, but told him to be careful in anticipating the beat. Carlos earned 28 points.

Besides the individual routines, the eight pairs performed team freestyle dances that night. Nick led the first group consisting of Tamar, Andy and Hayes with their respective partners. They danced to "The Nightmare Before Christmas" theme. Julianne said Hayes stood out, as Bruno called the routine "flawless." The judges scored the dance 30 which was added to their scores from individual dances.

Bindi & Derek, Alexa & Mark, Carlos & Witney and Alek & Lindsay were in the second team and they picked "Ghostbusters" as the theme. The judges noted it was out of sync in the first part. The judges gave them 28 points.

Next, it was time for the results. Hayes and Emma were the unlucky pair that night, being eliminated despite showing relatively consistent performances.
