Written by Sia Furler, the new song features Spears singing about the insecurity she feels while being in a relationship with her boyfriend.
Britney Spears has premiered her new single, "Perfume". Arriving via the singer's Facebook page on Sunday, November 3, the new song came just hours after a low quality version of the track leaked.
"This is like sharing a piece of my heart Listen to Perfume now!" Spears captioned the clip. Written by Sia Furler and produced by will.i.am and Chris Braide, "Perfume" is a pop ballad that features Spears getting more personal.
She sounds vulnerable as she sings about the insecurity in her love relationship. "So I, wait for you to call," she croons. "And I try to act natural. Have you been thinking 'bout her or about me? And while I wait I put on my perfume, yeah I want it all over you. I gotta mark my territory."
"Perfume" is the second single off "Britney Jean", Spear's latest album that will be released on December 3. " 'Perfume' is incredibly special to me because it hits close to home, and I think the story is relatable to everyone," Spears told E! about the song.
"Everyone's been through an insecure moment in a relationship that's left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that," she added.
