Jason Bateman adds another directorial project to his resume. After first helming "Bad Words" which was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this September, the "Identity Thief" actor is now set to direct Nicole Kidman in "The Family Fang".

The film follows parents who dedicate their lives to making great art. Their children, years after moving out to escape their parents' chaotic world, reluctantly return home in search of sanctuary when the lives they've built come crashing down. And they are once again forced to be involved in their parents' one last work.

An adaptation of Kevin Wilson's 2011 novel of the same name, the movie is scripted by David Lindsay-Abaire, who wrote the screenplay for Kidman's "Rabbit Hole" based on his own Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name. The actress got an Oscar nomination for her role in the 2010 film.

Production on "The Family Fang" is expected to begin next year. Bateman will also star in the movie, while Kidman serves as a co-producer.

Bateman will next be seen starring in "This Is Where I Leave You" alongside Tina Fey. He will also join Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Christoph Waltz and Chris Pine in "Horrible Bosses 2".
