AceShowbiz - Lamar Odom apparently has hired O.J. Simpson's lawyer Robert Shapiro to represent him in court following his DUI arrest on August 30. Before working for Lamar, Robert was hired by Rob Kardashian as he faced misdemeanor battery and theft charges in May following a reported paparazzi attack in March.
According to TMZ, Robert probably will plead no contest to one count of DUI and get probation. In addition, Lamar will have to attend alcohol education class. His driving license will be automatically suspended for one year because he refused to take a test to check alcohol in his blood.
A few days ago, the NBA star was pulled over on the 101 Freeway by the California Highway Patrol for going too slow on 50 MPH. Lamar, who was reportedly having marital and drug problem, at first did not notice the order and drove until 3 exits before stopping. He failed sobriety test and refused to take further chemical test. He was booked and released a few hours later after posting $15,000 bail. A court session is set for September 27.
One day after the arrest, he was spotted renting some movies. After choosing some titles from thriller and drama sections, he brought home seven DVDs to watch that day. Some of the titles include Matthew McConaughey's "Killer Joe", Ryan Reynolds' "Buried" and Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ".
Lamar's wife Khloe Kardashian was spotted wearing an oversized hoodie as she went to gym on the same day. According to E! News, she was with Lamar as he was released from jail. "Lamar arrived first in a taxi and then Khloe arrived an hour later. She was driving herself, alone in the car. They both wore matching oversized black hoodies," a source said.
