Lindsay Lohan Accused of Hitting Pedestrian, Dad Says It's a Setup
Celebrity

The alleged victim, Manhattan chef Jose Rodriguez, claimed that he did not realize who Lohan was until people told him she is a celebrity.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan could be in for a deep trouble. The actress was arrested outside a Meatpacking District nightspot in New York City on early Wednesday, September 19 morning for hitting a pedestrian with her car. Lohan, who is in probation for a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence, fled the scene.

Lohan was behind the wheel of her 2010 Porsche Cayenne with two unidentified men on the passenger seats. She was heading to a luxury Manhattan hotel, Dream Downtown, when she knocked a 34-year-old man and continued driving until she arrived at her destination a short distance away. Lohan proceeded going into the hotel's club while one of the male passengers got out of the car to talk to the man.

Lohan's victim, identified as cook Jose Rodriguez, complained of knee pain. Rodriguez later told NY Daily News after the incident that he had just left a nearby restaurant and was walking on the underground ramp when he "saw this car come real quick and hit me." He added, "I was in so much pain. I fell to the side."

According to Rodriguez, Lohan smelled of alcohol "real bad" and was slurring her words. He claimed he did not know who she was until people told him. However, police, who arrested the actress after she emerged from the hotel, said she did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She was not thrown into jail either but was processed at the 10th Precinct, given a desk appearance ticket and released.

Her dad Michael Lohan believed it was all a scam. "I think this is all a setup. I love my daughter and I believe her 100|percent|," he said.
