Which 2012 movies have the most mistakes so far? Continuing its tradition to compile the list of errors in movies, Movie Mistakes releases its "Mistakes in 2012" chart, which is topped by three of the biggest superhero blockbuster flicks this year.
It is none other than "The Amazing Spider-Man" which tops the list with a total of 27 mistakes. Most of the film's errors include technical continuity points, such as the inconsistencies with properties and wound placement. For examples, a vertical wound suddenly appears as diagonal, and the dust on Peter Parker's jacket disappears and reappears inconsistently.
Trailing closely behind the Andrew Garfield-starring masked vigilante film is Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" with 20 mistakes. Despite the praises given to the final Batman film, Movie Mistakes notes that the film features a number of revealing mistakes, such as a lighting screen which is reflected on Commissioner Gordon's spectacles.
Placing third is box office Goliath "The Avengers" with 16 mistakes. Among the factual errors spotted in the Earth's Mightiest Heroes flick are the spelling of video game company NAMCO Bandai as "NAMECO Bandai" in the end credits, and the incorrect German spelling on signs and license plates on the Stuttgart scene of the film.
"The Hunger Games", "Men in Black 3" and "Prometheus" land on the fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively with 12 mistakes apiece. "The Three Stooges" trails behind with 11, while "Underworld: Awakening" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" place eighth and ninth with 10 mistakes each. Rounding up the top 10 is "Battleship" with 9 mistakes.
