Underwood lands a double nod in the long list of Video of the Year, thanks to her music video for new single "Good Girl" and her duet with Brad Paisley in "Remind Me". The former clip additionally helps her become a contender for Female Video of the Year, and the latter leads her to join the list of Collaborative Video of the Year.

The 2005 winner of "American Idol" receives her fifth nod in the category of CMT Performance of the Year. Her performance with Steven Tyler at the CMT Crossroads pits her against Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Shelton, and another CMT Crossroads duo Sting and Vince Gill.

She shares her two other nods with The Civil Wars as their collaboration in "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, "Safe & Sound", is listed in Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year. The Civil Wars additionally grab Duo Video of the Year through their own clip "Poison and Wine".

Country music newbies who join Pistol Annies in the race to win Breakthrough Video of the Year are Brantley Gilbert ("Country Must Be Country Wide"), Thompson Square ("I Got You") and 2011 "Idol" winner Scotty McCreery ("The Trouble With Girls") and its runner-up Lauren Alaina ("Georgia Peaches").
