Words on the street are, former 'Hills' star Jenner felt that he was held back by 'What the Hell' rocker Lavigne because she allegedly declined multiple TV show offers that he received.

AceShowbiz - Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner are no longer an item, if the rumors were true. Both Us Weekly and Life & Style recently brought up a report suggesting that the couple has called it quits after dating for almost two years. The former went further by stating that the break-up happened sometime last week.
On the reason behind the split, it was reported that the twosome have been clashing over their careers. Us Weekly claimed that Jenner felt he was held back by Lavigne. "Every time he wanted to come back and take meetings to get his career back in order, she would make him go to Asia and Europe," said an insider.
The inside source continued on, "He hasn't worked and he wants to." Accordingly, 25-year-old Lavigne said no to multiple TV show offers 26-year-old Brody received. "They were both unhappy because he wants to have his career, she wants him to stay with her," the insider further explained.
While Us suggested that career was to blame, Life & Style said the two actually are not on the same path when it comes to marriage. "She wanted to settle down, but he wasn't exactly ready," so said a source. "They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time. It put a strain on their relationship."
Lavigne and Jenner began dating just months after the "What the Hell" rocker ended her three years of marriage to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. The two have expressed their love for each other by permanently inked their opposite's name on their body. Lavigne has Jenner's name on her ribs, while he tattooed her name on his left forearm.
