Opening up about how he surprised his wife with a romantic getaway to Cancun, the 'Hillbilly Bone' singer says, 'I told her I wanted to take her on an Oklahoma road trip.'
Blake Shelton admitted to have tricked Miranda Lambert shortly after they got married for a romantic purpose. Sharing stories about their honeymoon to Parade magazine, the "Hillbilly Bone" singer said he misled his country singer wife into believing they will go on an Oklahoma road trip.
"I surprised her: I told her I wanted to take her on an Oklahoma road trip," the 35-year-old as referring to their Texas ranch. "When you're Miranda Lambert and you're 27 years old, [that] sounds miserably boring. She was like, 'Well, that'll be okay, I guess. Just don't point out everything - let's just have fun.' "
Instead of going on the "boring" road trip, Blake took Miranda to a plane destined for Mexico. He gushed, "What she didn't know was I was going to drive us to a plane so we could fly to Cancun. We stayed in Reba [McEntire]'s and Narvel [Blackstock]'s house for about three days down there. It was so much fun."
Blake and Miranda got married on May 14 at the Don Strange Ranch near Boerne, Texas. After the ceremony, Miranda told Us Weekly, "I'm married to my best friend! Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter." Days later, the "White Liar" singer posted a photo of her holding up a fish by its mouth on Twitter along with a caption that read, "Honeymoon bliss!!!"
Honeymoon aside, Blake also discussed about his drunk-tweets during his interview with Parade. "It's just a way to say something ridiculous. Yeah, I drink a lot, but I'm not drunk every night," shared the "Some Beach" singer, whose beverage of choice is Bacardi rum mixed with Crystal Light.
