Rob Lowe has his own consideration on why he decided to join the run of Lead Actor in a Comedy in this year's Emmy race. The "Parks and Recreation" star takes it to his Twitter page to explain his submission. "Having 3 guys from the same show all submit in 'supporting' didn't seem like a good idea in Pawnee," he writes without mentioning the co-stars he means.
Previously, Lowe made people question his motivation for submitting himself as lead actor contender considering he has only been the NBC comedy's regular for less than a season. At that time, a rep for the network said Lowe "decided on his own to enter in the lead category - not NBC. We don't normally decide these things anyway - they do on their own."
The Lead Actor in a Comedy category at 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards is expected to be less crowded than the supporting actor category. Possible lead comedy actor nominees include former "The Office" star Steve Carell, Alec Baldwin of "30 Rock", Matthew Morrison of "Glee", and "The Big Bang Theory" actor Jim Parsons who won last year's Emmy.
Lowe made his first guest-starring appearance as Chris Traeger in "Parks and Recreation" season 2. He was later upped to the series' regular in season 3 which is currently running.
