"True Blood" could become the next big vampire movie after the sensational "Twilight" film series. Words on the street are, HBO is planning to turn the hit TV series, which stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin, onto the big screen.

What's Playing, via Cinema Blend, speculates that the "True Blood" movie will be made after HBO airs one or two other season(s) of the show, which has just wrapped the third season. Moreover, the site says there is a chance that series creator and showrunner Alan Ball will direct the film.

If the news is indeed true, "True Blood" will not become the first HBO's show which is adapted into movie. Previously, "Sex and the City" which was aired by the same network has been made into film franchise with the second installment just hitting theaters last summer.

"True Blood" kicked off its season premiere in 2008 and soon becomes one of HBO's hit series. The story itself is based on "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" series of novels by Charlaine Harris, and details the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional small Louisiana town. The main character, Sookie Stackhouse, is described as a telepathic waitress who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton.

PLEASE...cast Orlando Bloom (looking similar to Legalos from LTR) as Eric. Sorry to say my imagination pictured Eric better than the actor that plays him on the series.

I hope they don't do that. A movie would ruin the show. I read the books and they aren't about Eric and Sookie or Bill and Sookie. They are about Sookie alone. There is quite a bit of Eric in the books but Sookie is clearly the central character. It's true that Sookie and Eric are married. But that's only because Eric tricked her into it and she's having some difficulty accepting the so called,"marriage."

Totally agree. The book series is about Sookie and Eric as a couple, not Bill. Bill is out after book 3 and is pathetically trying to weasel his way back into Sookie's good graces after that. Please this movie would have to be about Eric and Sookie, not Bill and Sookie or it won't work.

Agreed, they would have to use an entire book for it. I'm glad SOMEONE knows that the romance is about Sookie and Eric... not Bill. I hope season 4 shows more of how they grow together and stick to how the books are.

Dear god, no thank you. The ONLY way this would work is if they made an entire book into a movie and stuck to the original "This is a book from Sookie's point of view and not about anyone else." With all the other plot lines running through the series, it just would NOT work as a movie unless it was just from Sookie's POV.

Hell no...i hope not..and btw in the books Bill is out of the game after book 3, she is married to it's quite frustrating averytime read Sookie in love with Bill...bla bla bla...since the BIG love story for all the books is with Eric....
