'Zombieland 2' to Be Filmed in 3D

Director Ruben Fleischer wants the sequel of the horror movie to filmed in 3D and the original cast are ready to return to the next film.

AceShowbiz - Following the good reception obtained by "Zombieland", the film will likely get a sequel treatment. In a recent interview with Moviehole, the man behind the film, Ruben Fleischer, revealed that Sony is interested to enter into another "Zombieland" movie project.

As if the plan to make "Zombieland 2" is not enough, Fleischer has an idea to film it in 3D. The helmer claimed "the genre really lends itself to [3-D]", especially with the advances in the technology over the course of the last few years.

Not only Fleischer who is excited with the plan to make the sequel of the horror comedy, but also the original cast, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin, are willing to reprise their roles in the second "Zombieland" film. However, asked when the storyline will come out, the director only said, "Whenever we crack it."

When "Zombieland" debuted on October 2, it topped North American box office with $24.7 million from ticket sales in its first week. As of the press time, the film has collected $74.8 million in total gross. The story itself follows a misfit band of survivors who teams up to find a safe place away from the zombie's reach.
