Dishing on her upcoming thriller project, Courteney Cox revealed that her 'Scream' character, Gale Weathers, is married and has a child in the fourth film.

AceShowbiz - Courteney Cox has just revealed some details of her upcoming thriller "Scream 4". In a group interview at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Pasadena, California on Saturday, August 8, the actress informed when promoting her new ABC series "Cougar Town" that she will be a mother in the latest horror film.
"She has a kid now," Cox said on the status of her character, Gale Weathers, in the fourth installment of the "Scream" series. The actress additionally noted that the news reporter is married to Dwight Riley, who proposed to her at the end of "Scream 3". "She's married to Dewey," the "Friends" star said.
Previously, scriptwriter Kevin Williamson announced that "Scream 4" will be the beginning of a new trilogy. When asked whether she has trepidations about starting another three films, Cox answered, "No, because [I take things] one day at a time." She then claimed, "But I heard the idea for 'Scream 4', and it's fantastic."
Courteney Cox and her real-life husband David Arquette have agreed to reprise their roles as Gale Weathers and Dwight Riley respectively in "Scream 4", which eyes for 2010 release. Meanwhile, Kevin Williamson has hinted that Neve Campbell, the lead actress on the first three films, turned down the offer to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott.
Williamson, who is currently working on CW series "The Vampire Diaries", expects to complete a final draft for the fourth installment of the horror films during hiatus and make final deals with cast and directors after that. On who will direct the movie, there is a chance that director Wes Craven will take on the important role behind the camera as he was reported to consider it if the script is proven to be his liking.
