ABC, NBC and even smaller ones like BIO and TV One are racing to air a special documentary about the life and death of Michael Jackson.

AceShowbiz - The death of world's icon, Michael Jackson, has kept the television networks busy. Many of them are airing special tributes just hours after the king of pop was pronounced dead on Thursday, June 25 in Los Angeles.

CBS is moving forward with "The Life and Death of Michael Jackson" at 10/9c. Meanwhile NBC is saving time by combining "American Legend: Michael Jackson" and the special tribute for Farrah Fawcett who also died on the same day, during a special edition of "Dateline" at 9/8c. At the same time with NBC, ABC is going to slip its tribute for Jackson within "20/20" which is also airing Fawcett's.

MTV is jumping on the opportunity too, airing a one-hour show about the late singer on several of its sister channels such as MTV2, MTV Tr3s, and mtvU. The special airs 9/8c and hosted by MTV News' Sway Calloway. Additionally, the music channel has been airing music videos of Jackson the whole day.

Other smaller networks are also running their own versions of Michael Jackson in memoriam. BIO Channel will air "Remembers: Michael Jackson" on Saturday, June 27 at 10/9c, presenting interviews with Jackson's family like La Toya Jackson, Katherine Jackson and Jermaine Jackson as well as friends including Liza Minnelli, Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight.

TV One is emptying its primetime schedule on Friday, June 26 to give room for an "up-to-date" documentary called "The Michael Jackson Story". It follows the phenomenal singer from his start in Gary, Indiana when he was still one piece of Jackson Five to the announcement of his 2009 world tour. It airs 8/7c and repeats at 11/10c.
