'American Idol' judges delivered a good news to Matt Giraud on the result show when he received the lowest vote and was due to walk out of the competition.

AceShowbiz - For the first time in this season, the judges of "American Idol" use their power to save a contestant from elimination. Matt Giraud received the lowest vote from audience on Tuesday, April 14 but is on for another round next week after three of the judges disagreed with Simon Cowell that he could actually win the competition.

Giraud, who sang Bryan Adams' "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?" during the Movies Night, was in the bottom three along with Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai. Simon cast his opinion about Matt's chance in the competition, but said later "Matt, it's good news". For the first time, Judges' Save was induced.

As a result, two contestants will be eliminated next week. Simon then announced, "Second piece of bad news. Next week it's Disco Week."

The result show on Wednesday, April 15 also saw the pre-taped performance of Miley Cyrus with "The Climb" and Jennifer Hudson with "If This Isn't Love". Zac Efron meanwhile, was spotted among the audience. This is a crossover promotion from "Idol" and "17 Again" for on Tuesday, the Top 7 contestants attended the movie's premiere in Los Angeles.
