A friend of Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green insists the pair is not splitting up, but is working on their relationship problems by entering a counseling.

AceShowbiz - Contrary to reports of them ending their engagement, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green aren't splitting up, an insider tells In Touch Weekly. "They hit a rough patch. But in every long-term relationship, people go through ups and downs," the insider argues.

Fox, 22, and Green, 35, first met in 2004 on the set of ABC's sitcom "Hope & Faith." They got engaged in November 2006 and had made public their plan to get married. However, late last month it was reported that both of them have called it quits.

Breaking the news of their separation was US Weekly, confirming in an exclusive report as being informed by an insider that "the relationship had run its course" adding the split was "completely amicable" and Fox and Green "are remaining friends." Earlier this month, a new claim emerged that Fox has moved out of the house she used to share with Green.

Despite all those reports, Fox was seen this week taking Green's son Kassius, to school as she normally does. Greater than that, she and Green were seen last week holding hands in public. "These two are very much in love and plan to be together for a long time," a friend of the couple tells In Touch Weekly.

"In early March, they decided to enter counseling in hopes of staying together," adds another friend. "It was a mutual decision. Lots of couples go to therapy together, and they are committed to try and make it work."

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green haven't offered a single comment just yet on the reports of their separation and also on those of them working out their relationship problems with the help of professionals.
