Having celebrated its world premiere in London on February 23, "Watchmen" turns to Los Angeles for its U.S. premiere. The special screening event took place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Monday night, March 2 and saw familiar setting as the attendees were greeted by the black-and yellow carpet designed with "Watchmen" lettering and the signature yellow smiley face.
Most of the highly anticipated live-action movie's cast ensemble, such as Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, were among the Hollywood stars seen gracing the black-and-yellow carpet on the night. Joining them for the special occasion were director-producer couple, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder.
Also present for the premiere were various celebrity guests, including "Heroes" star Masi Oka, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, former "Desperate Housewives" hunk Jesse Metcalfe and "Superman Returns" leading man Brandon Routh. "High School Musical" couple Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron were also spotted coming to the premiere.
Set to explode in U.S. theaters this Friday, March 6, "Watchmen" is adapted from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comic book series of the same title. It follows superhero-turned-vigilante Rorschach as he investigates the murder of his former colleague and discovers much more than a simple homicide case. Reconnecting with his former crime-fighting legion, he comes across a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to the heroes' shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future.
