Brandon Routh, the actor who portrayed the man of steel in "Superman Returns", is getting a guest starring role as a character named Daniel Shaw aka the new spy joining Chuck, Sarah and Casey. He will be featured in a multi-episode arc beginning the fourth episode.
Creator Chris Fedak has more to say about the character although he remains coy on how exactly Shaw will contribute to the whole story. "This year the evil organization Chuck and our gang are battling is called The Ring," he says, "and Shaw is an expert on The Ring."
What Brandon Routh Has to Say on Darker 'Superman'

Pictures have been looking forward to introduce a darker Superman, but it seems that Brandon Routh has a different opinion about it. In an interview with IESB, the man who plays the titular character in "Superman Returns" said that he doesn't "think the character necessarily has to be darker".
"I think he is kind of dark in a sense, emotional dark, in Superman Returns, and the movie as a whole was slightly dark, they could have had more prowess in it I suppose, and I think that's one thing that can be done in the sequel, so I don't know how much darker you want to make it necessarily," he explained. "You make the stakes higher, you make the villain darker, I think that's a way to do it."

Rolling out red carpet in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater, the Weinstein Company have come out with a special screening of the Kevin Smith's R-rated comedy.
Though the event wasn't highlighted with any unique setting, it still saw many celebrities walking by the signature special event carpet. Latino Review reported that the potential return of the 29-year-old as Clark Kent/Superman has been hinted by DC Comics President Paul Levitz in a recent interview.
Sparking the rumor, Levitz noted that Routh has had meetings with the DC Comics lately to discuss about the future "Superman" project. "Last week Brandon Routh has come around the offices in New York and Los Angeles as of late to talk about Superman and what we want to do," so he claimed in the interview. Nevertheless, whether the speculation holds some truth is yet to be proven.
