'Desperate Housewives' and 'Sex and the City' Creators at War
January 13, 2012 12:01:06The great minds behind two highly-successful series "Desperate Housewives" and "Sex and the City" are feuding over a comment made by the former. "Desperate" creator Marc Cherry recently said he won't make a movie out of the show like "Sex", and with that, he triggered a comment from Michael Patrick King.
Cherry was speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour this week, telling reporters there won't be a big screen version after the eighth and final season. "I'm never sending these gals to Dubai," he said, referring to "Sex and the City 2". "That's all I'm saying. Sex And The City only did, I think, a total of something like 69 episodes. So I always thought the advantage for them was that they hadn't really plumbed the depths of those characters."

'Desperate Housewives' Finale Won't Tie Up Every Loose End
January 11, 2012 10:01:29"Desperate Housewives" series finale may leave fans with some unanswered questions. At Television Critics Association winter press tour on Tuesday, January 10, executive producer Bob Daily said, "We don't necessarily want to tie up every loose end in the finale," reasoning, "Life goes on on Wisteria Lane."
Creator Marc Cherry wouldn't say which loose ends would be wrapped up, but did assure that the audience is "never going to find out which state Fairview is in." He additionally stated the last act which will be featured in the final episode is something which he has planned for seven and a half years.

Miss Piggy Knocks Down Renee in 'Desperate Housewives' 8.09 Promo
November 14, 2011 01:11:23"Desperate Housewives" and "The Muppets" collide in a new promo for the ABC series. It features Vanessa Williams' Renee Perry reading what looks like a script when Miss Piggy asks her if she will do 'this promo thingy'.
However, Renee's attention gets distracted when she sees Kermit the Frog. As the Wisteria Lane resident seems to be attracted to the frog, Miss Piggy gets upset and knocks her down to the ground. Kermit the Frog asks Renee if she is okay, to which she replies, "That's one bad pig."

ABC Nabs New Soap From 'Desperate Housewives' Creator Marc Cherry

Cherry's new project is called "Devious Maids" and revolves around four Latina housekeepers who are based in Beverly Hills. The hourlong soap itself is an adaptation of a Mexican telenovela titled "The Disorderly Maids of the Neighborhood".

ABC Confirms 'Desperate Housewives' Cancellation, Final Season to Link to the First

As it was expected, the cancellation was confirmed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills on Sunday, August 7 by ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee.
"It's an iconic show and we're extremely proud of it," Lee told reporters. "I wanted to make sure that this show that put this network on the map, certainly the new brand of this network for the last six or seven years, had its victory lap and had its chance to really set out every episode and build an arc for its 22 episodes so that we could say goodbye."
