Collaborating with Universal Pictures, MySpace is pitching an exclusive contest for "Funny People". The world's premier social network is offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance for fans to win a walk-on role in the next Judd Apatow's comedy movie starring Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann.

By logging into their MySpace account and befriending the Funny People official MySpace page, hopeful fans can join the contest. To be eligible for the prize, entrants will then be required to write a comment explaining why they should win the role in 100 words or less. They can start leaving their comment starting November 13 at 2:00 P.M. ET to December 10 at 2:00 P.M. ET.

Judged on quality of expression, originality and enthusiasm, potential winner will be notified around December 17, 2008. Meanwhile, the movie's director/producer/writer Apatow himself has left a personal video message encouraging MySpacers to participate in the contest. The video can be seen after the jump.

Telling the story of a comedian who has a near-death experience, "Funny People" is the latest comedy movie from Judd Apatow, the writer/director of "The 40 Year-Old Virgin", "Knocked Up", "Superbad" and "Pineapple Express". Supported also by Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill, it is set to hit U.S. theaters on July 31, 2009.

Per your article the comment submission ended December 10, 2008 @ 2 P.M. ET and contest rules say the same. Unfortunately, the contest rules were confusing. Per item 3, HOW TO ENTER; submissions must be posted by 11:59 A.M. ET on December 8, 2008. Which means my post did not get judged, stupid me AND stupid rules. My entry was posted December 8, 11:18 P.M. CT. And life goes on....

Hello I'm Justin E. Boyer, from Lebanon Pennsylvania. I am a huge fan of Adam Sandler. He is a tremendous actor. I know alot about what Adam Sandler is about. Starring on the big screen would be a huge opportunity of my life. I am real well at memoring lines from a script. I've also been in plays in school when I was younger. I would do anything to make the part exciting. If you need someone just to be a extra in the film I would be happy to do that. My dream has always been just to introduce myself to Adam Sandler. Thanks for your appreciation I hope I will here from you. Thank You

I'm worried that if you don't pick me, that goat will use Judd as a milking source! I work well with animals and probably with comedians. I think I'm funny but I'm biased. If I do not get chosen, I am also interested in being the head CG on the movie set. CG stands for "coffee girl". Sounds like an awesome opportunity. Will I get a chair with my name on the back??
