Kevin Rudolf got his start in the music industry after meeting top-notched producer Timbaland in 2004. He then helped working on numerous Timbaland-produced hits, including Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right", Timbaland's "Release", and Black Eyed Peas' "My Style".
In early 2007, Rudolf decided to release his own project after getting a "real vision of what I could contribute as a producer, musician, and songwriter and tapping into my own voice." While working on his debut album, Rudolf met Cash Money Records' Slim Williams and after playing some of his songs for him, he was signed by the executive.
Called "In the City", Rudolf's upcoming debut album is produced entirely by himself except for an unnamed track worked on by The Neptunes' Chad Hugo. One of the tracks on the album is Lil Wayne-featuring jam titled "Let It Rock". Since released in July, the tune has climbed to number 5 on Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and has reached number 14 on Billboard Pop 100 Singles chart.
In support of his debut album, Rudolf plans to hit the road before the end of 2008. "I've been hearing some crazy stuff, like 'Let It Rock' is Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan's favorite song right now. I have been very blessed and feel really lucky," the Cash Money's singer explains. "There is no info or pictures of me anywhere, yet the track has taken a life of its own. The music is truly speaking for itself."

I am honestly a bit disappointed that his work isn't like the one he did on Binocular. The album (Binocular) was so truthful, so honest, it took my breath away. I love Kevin and the new album In the City is good. But I totally would love to see him live as Binocular. Oooh is that too much to ask??!!
I got Binocular's album and listen to it everyday.Kevin's voice is so lovely that i'm always warm hearted.In the City album stimulates me so feel good.Binocular brings flowers into my heart.i love both very much.

I first heard Binocular's "Deep" when i travelled to the Phillipines in 2001, coming back to Australia and telling everyone bout this awesome song and awesome artist what difficult because it was so hard to find the song on the net. Now i can tell people that he is Kevin Rudolf. He rocks who ever he is!!! I'll search far and wide to find an original Binocular album. (wont have to search too far to get the Kevin Rudolf album though). good on ya!!! kel
I have the binocular cd, it is amazing! it had Kevin Rudolph on the credits. That's how i found him on myspace and had added both personas until he or "they" deleted the account. Hey, a talented guy needs to do what he needs to do to pay the bills too. I would pay big bucks to see him do the bincular set live though! it's out of print but available on amazon auctions.
I say more: before he signed with Cash Money records, Kevin Rudolf used to put on his myspace page the songs he was working with, like "Deep End", "As you are", "Every Day"... At that time he had already Kevin Rudolf as an artistic name, but his songs had still Binocular´s standards. Why those wonderful ballads didn´t appear on his Cash Money album... Why were his true talented songs swept away?
This new album by Rudolf is not the beggining... His debut alçbum was indeed "Binocular, self-titled with the one-band name he used in 2001. He´s really a very talented musician, and "Binocular" was even better, because it express the music that came from his soul. His Cash Money album, "In the City" is good, a complete musical experience... but it is not only Kevin´s musical standards that we hear on it... it contains also Wayne´s and the wishes from the record label.

OMG ! does it make him less TALENTED ? i heard that SIR Paul McCartny released albums under the name of "the BEATLES"...& Sting under the name of "the Police" ...etc. does being Sucessful Artist mean staying in one GENRE ??!! (look that up in Wikipedia!) i guess i too would be jealous of someone whose only "job" in life was making music (composing,writing lyrics, collaborating, producing,performing,etc.) ON THEIR OWN TERMS !!! If you look at the "official" sources, you would think that Kevin Rudolf just popped out of nowhere. This story says that he "met Timbaland" and from there things just started to happen. Oddly enough, Kevin Rudolf had been around long before that "fateful" 2004 meeting. In 2001, he released an album under the name "Binocular." Do a web search for the band and you'll discover that Binocular was a one-man band with songwriting credits under the name Kevin Randolf. I guess Cash Money doesn't want us to know that Kevin was a musician BEFORE the hip-hop label got a hold on him.
