Gerard Depardieu Granted Russian Citizenship by President Vladimir Putin

Gerard Depardieu could be moving from his home country of France to Russia. The "Life of Pi" actor, who publicly vows to give up his French citizenship in protest over the country's tax hike on the rich, has been granted Russian citizenship by President Vladimir Putin.

"In accordance with Article 89(a) of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the President ordered to satisfy an application for citizenship of the Russian Federation by Gerard Xavier Depardieu, who was born in 1948 in France," the Kremlin says in a statement.

Madonna Stalker Gets Probation After Resisting Arrest in New York

Pop superstar Madonna's latest stalker, retired firefighter Robert Linhart, got sentenced on Wednesday, January 2 by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Laura Ward to three years' probation for resisting arrest. The 61-year-old former NYC firefighter was convicted after being arrested twice back in September 2010, after stalking the Material Girl outside her Manhattan apartment.

Police arrested Linhart after he hung around in his SUV outside Madonna's NY apartment and spray-painted love notes on poster boards. The poster boards read, "The Universe brought us together in 1992 and again this year in Prague. Meet me please." The "Like a Virgin" singer's security then contacted the cops, who made the arrest on charges of graffiti after Linhart defaced a sidewalk.

Sofia Vergara and her fiance Nick Loeb had a quite bitter New Year's Eve. While celebrating the turn of the year in a new Miami Beach club, Story, the couple was getting into a scuffle, so New York Post reports.

According to an eyewitness, "Nick seemed tense around Chris [Paciello]," Sofia's ex who hosted them in the VIP section. "In the early hours, Nick and Sofia were arguing before he got into a dispute with somebody at a neighboring table. Some pushing and shoving started," the source continued.

First Look at 'Private Practice' Wedding in Series Finale

"Private Practice" will host a wedding before it takes a final bow. Kate Walsh's Addison and Benjamin Bratt's Jake will walk down the aisle in the series finale of the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off and the first look at the wedding has been shared in a picture.

The image features the groom and the bride sharing a kiss, presumably after they swap vows. The nuptials will be attended by the Seaside Health and Wellness family, including Addison's best friend Naomi (Audra McDonald), who makes her way back to Los Angeles from New York. Naomi was last seen in season 4.

Though she has scored plenty of achievements and critical acclaims thanks to her acting skills, Jennifer Lawrence casually thinks that being an actor is not really an impressive job. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the Oscar-nominated "Winter's Bone" actress even calls acting "stupid."

"Not to sound rude, but [acting] is stupid," the 22-year-old actress claims. "Everybody's like, 'How can you remain with a level head?' And I'm like, 'Why would I ever get cocky? I'm not saving anybody's life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I'm making movies. It's stupid'."

Kris Allen Reveals His Wife Is Pregnant After Their Car Accident

"American Idol" season 8 winner Kris Allen has dropped happy news while recuperating from injuries he got in a car crash on New Year's Day. As he got better in the hospital, the 27-year-old singer went on Twitter to tell fans how lucky he felt to have survived the accident, and revealed that he's soon going to be a father.

Kris and his wife Katy, who was also involved in the car crash, are expecting the arrival of their first-born. "Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy," so he announced.

HBO Sued for Allegedly Covering Up Horse Abuse on 'Luck'

Dustin Hoffman's "Luck" has brought another bad luck for HBO. After forced to cancel the drama series due to its soft ratings, the network is now sued for allegedly mistreating horses and covering up the abuse.

In her lawsuit, Barbara Casey, who was a director of the American Humane Association's film and production unit, claims she was fired after urging the organization to report the alleged horse abuse on the set of the show. She is suing the organization for wrongful termination.

Peggy Carter Won't Return to 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

Steve Rogers' first love interest Peggy Carter will not appear in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", so it's confirmed. Hayley Atwell, who played the character in "Captain America: The First Avenger", has stated that she would not reprise her role in the upcoming movie which is going to be set in present day.

Atwell broke the news during an interview with U.K.'s Time Out. The site posted, "She won't, she confirms, be back for the latter's sequel, which moves the action into the present day." This confirmation instantly debunked previous speculations that Peggy Carter would still be involved in the sequel.

Concertgoer Sues Jonas Brothers for Injuries Obtained at L.A. Mall Show

Boyband the Jonas Brothers are facing the New Year with a lawsuit. According to TMZ, Ashleigh Johnson, a concertgoer in one of the group's free shows at the Grove in L.A., has filed a legal complaint against the boys and claimed that she sustained serious injuries when the crowd went out of control during the May 2010 show.

Johnson, who said she was "agonizingly crushed" by the crowd made up mostly of female teenage fans, also claimed that she suffered mental, emotional, and physical injuries at the event. Her compliant gave details about her accident which took place around 3 P.M. at the L.A. shopping mall. The concertgoers allegedly became wild and uncontrolled, and pushed Johnson against a guard fence.

Looks like hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar wants to make sure that he is even more productive this New Year and wastes no time in dishing out something new for his fans. The 25-year-old rapper just dropped his new video for "Backstreet Freestyle" taken from his debut set "good kid, m.A.A.d city". The clip contains artsy and high-contrast black-and-white images of Lamar from his old neighborhood to international locations.

K-Dot's self-directed video kicks off with a quick montage of visuals from his Compton backyard, which were treated with filmic, grainy effects and shot documentary style. More of the candid, real-life feel for the video come from shots of Lamar's family. There are cameo appearances from Papa Lamar and his goddamn Domino's, K-Dot's mom, and an ass-shaking Sherane.

The Weinstein Company has released a trailer for Paul Andrew Williams' dramedy "Unfinished Song". The trailer boasts simple-but-touching scenes of a temperament old man whose heart is melted slowly-but-sure by an optimistic young lady played by Gemma Arterton.

Shot in England's County Durham with great support from the community, "Unfinished Song" is a London-set comedic drama, about grumpy pensioner Arthur (Terence Stamp), who is reluctantly inspired by his beloved wife Marion (Vanessa Redgrave) to join a highly unconventional local choir.

Bronson Pelletier drama in Los Angeles airport was caught on a video which has just surfaced online. A fellow passenger was taping the incident as the actor, who appeared to be drunk, was taking a pee inside the LAX terminal on December 17.

In the video, an airport employee wearing a red suit was approaching him and telling him to have a seat when the Jared of "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" urinated in public by the gate. A police officer then took him down on the floor and he was taken to jail for public intoxication.

Patti Page Dies on New Year's Day at 85

Pop-country star Patti Page, the best-selling female artist of the 50s, has died at the ripe old age of 85 in Encinitas, California on New Year's Day. Seacrest Village Retirement Communities, where she settled-in during her twilight years, confirmed the news of her death. Although the cause of death was not yet officially announced, her longtime personal manager Michael Glynn revealed she had already been suffering from heart and lung disease.

Born Clara Ann Fowler, Page landed on the Billboard charts 111 times, and earned 19 gold and 14 platinum singles in her 7-decade musical career. Her singing style may not have received a lot of praise from critics but her sentimental songs were well-received by the public, making them into big hits. Page's "Tennessee Waltz" alone spent months on top of the pop, country and R'n'B charts and sold 10 million copies.

Pink Facing $36,000 Lawsuit Over Album Royalties

Grammy Award-winning pop artist Pink is facing a $36,000 lawsuit filed in New York last December by Specialists Entertainment and Thunderstone Productions, her former producers who worked on her debut album released in 2000. The two entities are claiming $36,213.31 in unpaid royalties for the carrier single "Can't Take Me Home" and "Hiccup" which they both produced back in 1999.

A representative for the 33-year-old pop-rocker claimed that the lawsuit has no merits since it is not the singer but the record label, Sony, who is legally responsible to pay royalties to the producers. The album was initially distributed by La Face and Arista records but the rights has since been bought by Sony.
