JoJo Scraps 'Jumping Trains', Returns to Studio to Re-Record Album

JoJo's third studio album, "Jumping Trains", is put on hold once again after delayed many times. The singer scraps the album and returns to the studio to craft new material.

The third album was announced in 2007 and was originally titled "All I Want Is Everything". With the release of a sexy new single, "Demonstrate", earlier this month, the 21-year-old singer has found a new direction for what she wants in her new record.

First Promo for Action-Packed Reality Series 'Stars Earn Stripes'

NBC lines up "Stars Earn Stripes", which is claimed to be unlike any other reality series, to debut later this summer and teases audience by giving a glimpse at the action-packed footage. Compiled in a newly-released promo, the scenes show eight celebrities taking part in military-style trainings that include challenges like swimming in the ocean and long-range target shooting.

As the contestants take part in missions that are faced by real American heroes, they'll learn about true bravery as well as honoring army veterans and law enforcement officers who have protected the country. "This new series pays tribute to members of our dedicated armed forces and civil law enforcement," said co-host Gen. Wesley Clark back in June.

Nicki Minaj Added to Lineup of 'Today' Summer Concert Series

Nicki Minaj will be hosting a free concert in New York City on August 14. She will be performing at Rockefeller plaza for "Today" show as part of its Summer Concert Series.

She has been added to a roster of various acts who will be entertaining the crowds. Other acts who have signed on are The Fray (August 13), Carrie Underwood (August 15), Lionel Richie (August 16), 98 Degrees (August 17), Train (August 24), and Jason Mraz with Christina Perri (August 31).

Chad Everett Lost Battle Against Lung Cancer

Chad Everett, who's well known for playing Dr. Joe Gannon on classic TV drama "Medical Center", has passed away at his home in Los Angeles. According to his daughter Katherine Thorp, he died after a year-and-a-half-long battle against lung cancer. He was 75.

Throughout his career that spanned more than 40 years, Everett landed roles in over 40 films and television series. His role as a young, sensitive doctor in the "Medical Center" earned him two Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination.

'Saturday Night Live' to Return to Primetime With Election Specials

Following the success of "SNL Weekend Update Thursday" specials in the run-up to the 2008 election, NBC has scheduled two "Saturday Night Live" primetime specials that will spoof the upcoming fall election. The episodes are slated to air September 20 and 27, with the network having left the room open since it announced its fall premiere dates by pushing the launch of "30 Rock" final season to October 4.

In addition to announcing the "SNL" election-themed specials at the Television Critics Association conference, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt talked about "a transition" that the network would undergo this fall with its new line-up. While it has been known for its acclaimed shows such as "30 Rock", "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation", the Peacock hopes to broaden its approach with new comedies namely "Animal Practice", "Go On" and "The New Normal".

After releasing a poster, Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" debuts its first full trailer. Without presenting any narration, the promotional video offers a proper look at the film's storyline. Opened with a scene where a storm crashes a ship, the footage highlights Pi Patel as he manages to stay alive by paddling in a lifeboat.

Pi is the precocious son of an Indian zookeeper. Along with his family, the protagonist decides to move to Canada by hitching a ride on a huge freighter. After a shipwreck, Pi is found adrift in the Pacific Ocean on a 26-foot lifeboat with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan and a 450-pound Bengal tiger named Richard Parker, all fighting for survival.

'The Jeffersons' Star Sherman Hemsley Found Dead at His Home

Sherman Hemsley, who's best known for his portrayal as Archie Bunker's strong-headed neighbor George Jefferson in 1970's "All in the Family" and its spin-off "The Jeffersons", has passed away. The El Paso, Texas, police announced the actor was found "without signs of life" at his home. He was 74.

Norman Lear, producer of "The Jeffersons" and "All in the Family", remembered Hemsley as a "immensely talented" actor. He added, "When the Jeffersons moved in next door to the Bunkers, I wanted to deliver the George Jefferson who could stand up to Archie Bunker. .. The minute he opened his mouth he was George Jefferson."

Moviegoers might not see "Gangster Squad" in cinemas this years. It has been reported that Warner Bros. Pictures has opted to push back the release date of the mob film and planned to do some reshoots to change the theater shoot-out scene in the movie.

According to The Holllywood Reporter, Warners is currently eyeing a January 2013 U.S. release for the Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn-starring action drama. Though the studio hasn't made a final decision, it is said that the film will likely be released around January 11.

Responding to the question, half of the directing duo, Anthony, told IGN that they were going to give a "lighter" tone to the sequel.

Explaining Steve Rogers' development in the sequel, Anthony said, "We're trying to grow him as a character." He went on stating, "Certainly, he's come a long way from where he started in World War II to where he is in modern-day America. So the character has rrom for growth because of that huge journey he's been on, number one."

'Modern Family' Main Cast Sues Producer Following Contract Dispute

The salary dispute between "Modern Family" cast and 20th Century Fox Television has turned uglier. After rejecting the offer made by the producer, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell have filed a lawsuit against the company.

According to the complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, the five actors claim Fox violates the "7-Year Rule" under California Labor Code section 2855 (a). The lawsuit says, "That provision dictates that contracts to render personal service may not be enforced beyond seven years from the commencement of service under it."

NBC will resurrect Count Dracula from his grave. The network announced on Tuesday, July 24 that it has ordered 10 episodes of new drama "Dracula", which has "The Tudors" vet Jonathan Rhys-Meyers tackling the titular role, without going through the pilot stage.

"In the world of 'Twilight', we thought we would go back to the original," said Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt, who described it as "a cool new version of Dracula." He added, "This will bring a Tudors sensibility to Dracula. It will be faithful to the period but look to the future."

Peter Jackson seemingly takes his plan to make a third "The Hobbit" film seriously. After teasing the possibility of the third film during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the Oscar winner is now said to be "in deep talks" with Warner Bros. Pictures to develop the threequel.

The Hollywood Reporters has the words that the New Zealand-born filmmaker wants to adapt the Hobbit tale into a trilogy. Should his plan get the approval, an additional shooting for the novel-adapted movie series will take place next summer for around two months in the director's homeland.

Christian Bale and His Wife Visit Mass Shooting Victims in Aurora, Colorado

Christian Bale came to Aurora, Colorado on Tuesday afternoon, July 24, a few days after the mass shooting that happened during a midnight screening of his new movie "The Dark Knight Rises", to meet the victims. The Bruce Wayne/Batman depicter was accompanied by his wife Sibi Blazic during the visit.

Bale spent about two and a half hours at Medical Center of Aurora, offering his support for those injured in the tragic incident. Five people he met were admitted to the hospital, and two others were brought in from Swedish Medical Center. A picture of the actor with one of the victims, Carey Rottman of Denver, quickly made its round on the internet.

'Modern Family' Cast Reject Salary Offer, Table Read Canceled

The salary negotiation between "Modern Family" cast and producers on Monday, July 23 has failed. The cast reportedly are asking more than double the offered salary should the hit comedy show reaches season 8 or 9.

According to THR's sources, the offer was $150,000 per episode plus a $50,000 per episode bonus for season 4; $200,000 per episode for season 5, $225,000 for season 6, and up to $325,000 for an anticipated season 9. Since no deal was reached, it puts the fourth season in question.

Murderer of Jennifer Hudson's Family Gets 3 Life Sentences in Prison

William Balfour, who murdered three of actress Jennifer Hudson's family members, was given three consecutive life sentences in prison. Judge Charles Burns who oversaw the trial said William's "soul is as barren as dark space."

William, the estranged husband of Jennifer's elder sister Julia, killed her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew in October 2008. Jennifer attended the trial on Tuesday, July 24, dabbing her eyes several times and smiling in disbelief as William's past crimes were read out in court.

Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen party with friends from dawn to dusk in the music video of "Good Time". The two collaborated on the lead single of Owl City's new album "The Midsummer Station" which will be released on August 21 on Universal Public. Song will also appear on Jepsen's second album.

"This song really felt like a duet and if it wasn't for anybody than Carly Rae it wouldn't be half as magical," Adam Young of Owl City told Fuse.
