If 2010 was marred with celebrity splits, the first quarter of 2011 is no different. High profiled couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel ended their relationship in March. A month prior, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz filed for divorce.

As one romance fizzles out, another blooms. Teen sensation Justin Bieber finally admitted to the world that he was dating Selena Gomez in February. The happy news continued as Demi Lovato emerged from her rehab stint and announced a comeback. There was also the reunion of the Cyruses and the announcement of Jessica Alba's second pregnancy.

"The Big Bang Theory" will mark its milestone with an episode different from previous outings. In the 100th episode which is set to air January 19, 2012, the cast and the crew will do something that's never done before by going back to the pilot.

"We wanted to go back to the relationship which started the series, which was Leonard's attraction to Penny and it was a sweetness to it and it's where we started and it felt like we'd come full circle on the 100th and explore it again," co-creator/executive producer Chuck Lorre said at an event celebrating the 100th episode in Los Angeles.

Giuliana Rancic is not letting her battle against breast cancer slow her down. On Tuesday, December 27, just two weeks after undergoing a successful double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, the TV personality was already back on the set of E! News to resume her hosting duties.

Donning a floral Seventies-style mini-dress, the 37-year-old thanked fans for their supports. "It is so good to be back two weeks after my surgery," she said. The list of 2011 National Film Registry selections has been unveiled. 1994's "Forest Gump", which starred Tom Hanks, and 1991's "The Silence of the Lambs", which boasted the performance of Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, are chosen to be preserved as cultural, artistic and historical treasures in the National Registry of the Library of Congress this year.

Walt Disney's 1942 classic animated film "Bambi" and Charlie Chaplin's first feature length comedy "The Kid" (1921) also make it onto the list. The selected 25 films, which are picked from 2,228 titles nominated by the public, span the period from 1912 to 1994 and include an eclectic mixture of feature films, documentaries, short subjects and experimental films.

On the night of December 31, Lady GaGa will celebrate the New Year not only with her Little Monsters in the States but also with those who live in Japan. As part of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest" live TV link-up, the Mother Monster is set to appear on NHK's spectacular "Kohaku Uta Gassen".

Having an average 37.4% in viewership from last year's broadcast, the Japanese show, which celebrates its 62nd anniversary this year, traditionally airs as a four-hour plus year-end music extravaganza special. Bill Maher has put his show and the network which airs it in trouble with his offensive tweet about devout Christian Tim Tebow. Some tweeps call for a boycott on HBO unless the cable channel bans the "Real Time with Bill Maher" host.

"Boycott HBO until they cancel Bill Maher!" one Twitter user named Todd Shaffer wrote. Another tweep responded, "Bill Maher should be banned. Decency is not in his vocabulary. Disgusting taster for words, as usual."

Ewan McGregor is facing a setback in his attempt to add director to his resume. The actor playing Camerlengo Patrick McKenna in "Angels & Demons" has been forced to ditch a film project, which he's set to make a directorial debut, after finding out recently that another company already puts it in production.

In an interview with Nylon Guys, the 40-year-old actor revealed that he was actually setting the movie about a 1968 yacht race to be his joint project with wife of 16 years, production designer Eve Mavrakis. "My wife was going to design it, I wasn't going to be in it," he explained. "And then I found out someone else is doing it. I was gutted."

Although 2011 is yet to pull down its curtain, Adele has been predicted by many to have the biggest-selling album of the year due to the steady sales of her second studio album "21". With the new year fast approaching, it's revealed that the CD, which came out last January, has sold a staggering total of 5.28 million copies in the United States alone.

Beside cementing her position as the frontrunner of the best seller, the huge number also makes the British popstar the first musician to ever pass the 5 million mark in a year of sales since Usher did so seven years ago. Back in 2004, the R&B performer sold a grand total of 7.9 million copies with his fourth studio album "Confessions".

Alessandra Ambrosio is going to be a mother for the second time. The 30-year-old supermodel, who has a 3-year-old daughter with longtime fiance Jamie Mazur, is expecting baby No. 2, her representative confirms.

It's less than a year since Avril Lavigne dropped her latest studio album "Goodbye Lullaby", but already she has mulled over ideas about what she's going to do next in its follow-up project. In a recent interview with MTV, she revealed her desire to start fresh by teaming up with people she hasn't worked with.

"In my new record coming up, I think I want to start off by working with people I've never worked with before because that's hard to do," the Canadian pop/rock punk singer stated. "When you don't know someone you have to go in and you write together and you're recording, you never know, you have to vibe together."

A former "Saturday Night Live" writer is believed to have committed suicide. Joe Bodolai, who wrote on 20 episodes for the sketch show in the '80s, was found dead in Re-Tan Hotel's room in Hollywood on Monday, December 26. Los Angeles County Chief Coroner Craig Harvey said that his body was discovered at 1:30 P.M. by room service staff.

News of Bodolai's death came just a few days after he posted a gloomy message on Facebook. On December 23, he wrote, "I'm alone this year and am volunteering serving Christmas dinner to the homeless. Perhaps I will be one, but I love all of you and if I make it to next year let's make it a morally, spiritually, better and funnier year."

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve" special concert to welcome 2012 won't air until December 31 night, but some of its segments have been taped in advance. One of the musical guests who taped their performance ahead of the star-studded gig was Nicki Minaj.

The Young Money first lady reportedly filmed her set on Saturday, December 24. The femcee was pictured wearing a long blonde hair and donning a metallic-like garb with blue-tinted color. She reportedly performed song selections from debut album "Pink Friday".

Showtime has streamed the pilot of new comedy show "House of Lies" two weeks ahead of its premiere on small screen. The first full episode of the Don Cheadle-starring series is now available for viewing pleasure in a video posted on YouTube, with some edits to make it appropriate for audience of all ages.

The pilot, which sees Cheadle's Marty and his team heading to New York to consult with a bank, can also be accessed on the Showtime official website and via select television providers' free On Demand channels and websites. Mark Wahlberg has let his intuition take over when it comes to casting Justin Bieber in his yet-untitled basketball movie. The "Contraband" star made the confession during a recent interview with MTV News in which he explained why he wanted to work with the "Mistletoe" singer.

"I'm pretty intuitive," assured the rapper-turned-Hollywood leading man. "I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it's there." Believing that Bieber has plenty of acting talent, he added, "If not, I will extract it."

Instead of hyping his new studio album, T.I. prefers to promote his upcoming mixtape. The Atlanta rapper, who has just been out of jail, gives his devotees a look at behind the scene of the street album's creative process in a form of a new trailer.

The cause of Heavy D's death has finally been unraveled. Earlier reports suggested that the 44-year-old rapper was battling pneumonia at time of his sudden passing, but Los Angeles County Coroner's Office came out with the full autopsy report on Tuesday, December 27 morning, revealing that he died of a blood clot in his lung.

Chief of the Los Angeles County's coroner Craig Harvey uncovered that Heavy suffered from a deep vein thrombosis that resulted in the pulmonary embolism, a blockage of arteries in the lungs because of blood clots. In the "Now That We Found Love" MC's case, his blood clots were likely formed during his flight back to Los Angeles from London.

Big Time Rush have another video for their single "Boyfriend" going viral. In this brand new version, the Nickelodeon boyband team up with YouTube lip-synch sensation Keenan Cahill. Together, they mime the lyrics and dance to the fun, catchy track.

The official version of the single's music video itself has been debuted by the band since last February. It sees Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson sharing screen with Snoop Dogg who are featured in a remix of song.

What songs from Michael Jackson's catalog which will be featured in a "Glee" episode to honor the late King of Pop have allegedly been unveiled. According to Perez Hilton, the setlist consists of 12 numbers including "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" which will be delivered by Finn and Rachel.

Brittany and Santana are said to perform another duet with "In the Closet", and the latter will also team up with Sebastian (Grant Gustin) to sing "Smooth Criminal". Meanwhile, the New Directions and the Warblers may collaborate in two songs, "Bad" and "We Are the World".

Blink-182 have debuted a dark music video in support of their latest single "After Midnight". The clip features the pop punk band playing the song in what looks like an airplane hangar, while footage of a young couple spending their days in a psych ward is flashed on the screen intercepting the performance scene.

"After Midnight" is taken from the band's comeback album "Neighborhoods" which debuted at No. 2 when coming out in September this year. Its music video was filmed in Tustin, California with Isaac Rentz serving behind the lens.

Sinead O'Connor has parted ways with therapist husband Barry Herridge after just 16 days of marriage. The 45-year-old singer took to her blog Monday, December 26 to explain that the marriage went wrong three hours after they tied the knot in Las Vegas on December 8 and blame pressures placed upon her fourth husband by "certain people in his life" for the separation.

"I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts," she began her blog post. "So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight. I won't under any circumstances ever have any further comments to make on this matter than those I write here this evening."
