Lee DeWyze, the winner of "American Idol" season 9, is dropped from RCA Records. However, the 25-year-old is still managed by 19's management and he said recently that new music is on the works.

Newly appointed RCA Records CEO Peter Edge confirmed in an interview with THR last week that DeWyze is no longer with the label. Sony Music CEO Doug Morris took the reigns in July and under him, RCA has absorbed the rosters of Jive, Arista and J Records. These labels have signed "Idol" winners and runners up in the past.

From the man who has written episodes of "Two and a Half Men", "My Wife and Kids" and "Everybody Hates Chris", comes a new sitcom that has Snoop Dogg as the main star. Don Reo's comedy project has landed at NBC with a script in the works.

Per Deadline, Snoop will play a dad in the show. The rapper, who has previously worked with Reo on FOX's sitcom "Brothers", will also have a producer's credit. No other details about the show were released.

Not an obvious fan of Justin Bieber, Evan Rachel Wood covered the teen heartthrob's hit single "Baby" on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon". The "True Blood" actress was on the talk show to promote her latest movie "The Ides of March".

Before performing, Wood demanded a black leather jacket to add some swag and also adjusted her fringe to match Bieber's old hairstyle. Host Jimmy Fallon supported her performance by dancing.

Ashton Kutcher is apparently bumped by the death of Steve Jobs. While rumors of his affair continue to dominate media headlines, the star of "Two and a Half Men" mourned the lost of Apple's co-founder through a series of tweets in addition to changing his Twitter avatar in the memory of the late 56-year-old.

He followed it up with another tweet that read, "Sending love & light to everyone @Apple & the entire Jobs family.Today we lost a Giant who will be missed even by those who didn't know him."

Conan O'Brien has paid a visit to "Late Night" show, which he hosted for 16 years, when he recently had a trip to New York. His surprise appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" that Wednesday night, October 5, was responded with a huge cheer from the audience.

Jimmy Fallon, who currently hosts the NBC talk show, quickly greeted O'Brien. The situation got awkward for a little while when the younger host tried to dig from his predecessor why he left the "Late Night" show.

Henry Cavill has been snapped sporting a scruffy look on the Vancouver set of "Man of Steel". In the middle of rainy weather, the English actor was seen filming some scenes for the upcoming Superman reboot on Wednesday, October 5.

Clint Eastwood is set to come back to the acting world. The 81-year-old veteran actor-turned-director is currently in talks with Warner Bros. Pictures to play in front of the camera again in a drama called "Trouble with the Curve".

Eastwood is expected to star as an aging baseball scout who goes on a road trip with his adult daughter. Eastwood's longtime comrade Robert Lorenz is in negotiation to direct, while Randy Brown has been tapped as the screenwriter.

Rocker Jani Lane apparently died as a result of alcohol poisoning. Having completed its investigation over the former Warrant lead singer's death, the Los Angeles County coroner's office uncovered on Wednesday, October 5 that his official cause of death is "acute ethanol poisoning".

The rocker, who wrote the '80s glam rock band's hits "Cherry Pie" and "I Saw Red", was found dead at a hotel in Los Angeles on August 11. His body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, California, and some sources said that a half-empty vodka bottle was found near his body along with prescribed medicine.

Coach Beiste will finally step into the dating zone on "Glee". It is reported that the show has found a love interest for McKinley's football coach, who previously admitted that she had never been kissed before Will landed one on her, in Eric Bruskotter.

Bruskotter, who appeared in two episodes of "24" in 2007, lands what is described as a major recurring role of Johnny. According to TVLine, Johnny is a football recruiter who can't take his eyes off of Beiste when visiting the school to scout for talent. Directed by Simon Curtis, "My Week with Marilyn" is based on Colin Clark's diaries, in which he documented the interaction between Monroe and Sir Laurence Olivier during the making of 1956's movie "The Prince and the Showgirl". The film chronicles a week Monroe spent in Britain accompanied by Clark, who then became her secret lover, after her husband left her during their honeymoon.

Another new comedy series will stay on the primetime line-up for at least one season. After "New Girl", "Whitney" and "Up All Night", "2 Broke Girls" has been picked up for a full TV season by CBS on Wednesday, October 5.

Starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs as two waitresses with different backgrounds who strike a friendship, "2 Broke Girls" is co-created by stand-up comedienne Whitney Cummings and "Sex and the City" executive producer Michael Patrick King. It debuted to 19.4 million viewers and drew 11.4 million people the next week.

Sad news has come from the tech world. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Inc., passed away on Wednesday, October 5, less than two months after he handed over his position as the company's CEO to Tim Cook. In a brief statement about his passing, his family said that the 56-year-old "died peacefully".

His family also noted that the man, who also helped bring the computer-animated characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear to the screen in "Toy Story" movies, died "surrounded by his family". Their statement further read, "In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. One of the acts contributing to this Saturday, October 8 tribute event for Michael Jackson has pulled out of their commitments. Promoters said that Black Eyed Peas have suddenly become "unable to perform" due to "unavoidable circumstances".

"It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the Michael Forever bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth-shattering artists," Chris Hunt, CEO of Global Live Events, said in a statement.
