Madonna was quoted in a French newspaper of saying that Lady GaGa has "obsessions" over her. Her publicist Liz Rosenberg quickly straightened out the statement, saying "I do know that [Madonna] has said many supportive things about GaGa over the years."

Le Soir threw a question at Madonna during the "W.E." Venice Film Festival press conference about her admiring fans, including GaGa. "As for Lady Gaga," the 53-year-old singe said, "I have no comment to make about her obsessions having to do with me because I don't know whether her behavior is rooted in something deep and meaningful, or superficial."

AFI Fest 2011 coordinators announced on Wednesday, September 7 that Clint Eastwood-directed drama "J. Edgar" would open the annual festival. The world premiere of the film will take place at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on November 3.

"What a gift it is to be going to the movies when Clint Eastwood is making them, and what an honor it is for the American Film Institute to premiere his latest contribution to America's cultural legacy," Bob Gazzale, president and CEO of the American Film Institute, said in a statement announcing the selection.

A man broke into Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil's Quebec house, ate her food and drew a bath. Daniel Bedard, 36, was caught by police who came in response of the alarm system, just as he was about to step inside the bathtub. The 36-year-old man reportedly said to the police, "Hey, guys what are you doing here?"

Bedard apparently jumped over the fence onto the property. He tried to open a door to the house but when unsuccessful, he took some keys and opened the garage with remote taken from one of Angelil's unlocked cars. "He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath (and) he even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge," police spokesman Franco Di Genova said of the suspect.

Nick Jonas and girlfriend Delta Goodrem packed on the PDA during a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico on Labor Day weekend. The new couple was spotted being affectionate towards each other on the beach hotel, soaking up the sun on loungers and dipping in the pool.

In this indie road drama film, Chloe plays 13-year-old broken home girl named Luli. Her mother and father spend their evenings getting obnoxiously plastered at the local watering hole, then go at it like a pair of trashy, drunk teenagers. When they manage to throw down at her birthday party, she decides to hitch a ride to Vegas armed with a Smith & Wesson .45.

In a black-tie gala held at Britain's Covent Garden's Royal Opera House, a number of high profile celebrities including U2 were honored by GQ. Bono, The Edge and friends got Band of the Year trophy at the glitzy celebration in London.

The other lucky musicians who received the GQ once-in-a-year prize included Tinie Tempah and Hugh Laurie. The former was recognized for his achievement as a solo artist, while the latter was handed Lifetime Achievement Award.

Less than two weeks shy of 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards, some names have been announced as presenters at the show. Ashton Kutcher who has just landed a role on "Two and a Half Men" as well as Zooey Deschanel who stars on upcoming comedy series "New Girl" are tapped to take the duty.

The first group of presenters which were unveiled on Tuesday, September 6 also included four Emmy-nominated actors: Will Arnett, Julianna Margulies, Amy Poehler and Sofia Vergara. Arnett is up for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series ("30 Rock"), Margulies vies for Lead Actress in a Drama Series ("The Good Wife"), Poehler is nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series ("Parks and Recreation"), while Vergara eyes Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series ("Modern Family").

2011 GQ Men of the Year Awards has taken place at the Royal Opera House on Tuesday (September 6) night in London, England. It was a night dedicated to men, but the ladies happened to be the ones who stole the attention on the red carpet. Among them were Emma Watson and Charlize Theron.

21-year-old Emma came to the 14th annual awards show wearing a tartan wool puffball mini dress from the Alexander McQueen secondary line McQ. Giving an edge to the plaid dress, the "Harry Potter" beauty paired it with a leather jacket and donned Christian Louboutin "Pigalle Spike" heels.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have reportedly been locked for "The Expendables II". According to Deadline, the "Terminator" movie franchise hunk and the John McClane of "Die Hard" films have closed deals to take "substantial" roles in the follow-up to "The Expendables".

Schwarzenegger and Willis previously appeared as cameos in the 2010 hard-hitting action movie, with the former playing Barney Ross' (Sylvester Stallone) rival mercenary leader Trent Mauser and Willis portraying a man who hires Ross for a mission in Vilena. Stallone will additionally reprise his role in the upcoming film, but he will not return as the director.

Rihanna's brother Rorrey Fenty aka GQ is following the footsteps of his famous sister by trying his hands at music. The aspiring artist drops some lyrics in a song called "Army" which samples RiRi's Chase & Status-produced track "G4L" from her 2009 album "Rated R".

The newly-released song also features rapper Teff Mayweather. It contains a shout-out to the "What's My Name?" hitmaker and the country where he and she come from with such lyrics as: "I'm from Barbados so all my women look like Rihanna."

Anthony Hopkins is reportedly in final talks to star in New Line's serial killer movie "Solace". Instead of playing the murderer, the actor who tackles the titular character in "King Lear" is expected to be the one who hunts down the mysterious person.

According to Variety, Hopkins will portray a former doctor named John Clancy who has psychic abilities and works for the FBI. He is drawn into the case only to find that the killer also is a psychic, leading to a showdown between the two who can detect each other's every move.

Lifetime will give "America's Most Wanted" a second chance. The cable channel has picked up the program, which was axed by FOX in May this year, along with its host John Walsh. "For more than two decades John Walsh has been leading the fight against crime and it's an honor to partner with him on bringing back this important show," the network's president and GM Nancy Dubuc said in a statement on Tuesday, September 6.

"I've always believed there was something very special about 'America's Most Wanted' and that there should be a home for it on television," said Walsh, who also serves as an executive producer of the longest-running program of any kind in the history of FOX. He added, "I couldn't be happier to now be able bring it back on Lifetime."

Sherri Shepherd has gone commando when tying the knot to her TV writer husband Lamar Sally on August 13. The co-host of "The View" came out with the candid confession when sharing personal details about her nuptials during the season 15 premiere of the daytime talk show.

On the Tuesday (September 6) edition, the 44-year-old spilled, "One of my bridesmaids, I think it was Niecy Nash, said, 'Don't wear any underwear'." In addition to receiving a demand of apology from a military veteran, Soulja Boy has also got a backlash in a form of a diss song called "Change Your Name" from another member of the U.S. troops. The MC who stirred controversy with his "F**k the Troop" lyric was mocked back by a combat veteran and aspiring rapper Sgt. Dunson.

The "Pretty Boy Swag" rhymer whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way is urged to change his famous moniker by Dunson. The military vet pointed out that after spitting "F**k the troops" lyric, the 21-year-old rapper should be ashamed of carrying Soulja as his name because it is ironically a play on the word "soldier."

Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima are bringing their bombshell persona to the pages of a magazine. The two Victoria's Secret Angels have traded racy lingerie with swimwear to present '80s-inspired looks for the October 2011 issue of Elle magazine, which will hit newsstands across the U.S. on September 20.

Also modeling the swimwear are Kerr and Lima's fellow models for the women's wear brand, Chanel Iman and Doutzen Kroes. All four worked with photographer Alexei Hay on location in Los Angeles for the covershoot styled by Elle Creative Director Joe Zee.

Seeing that writing short tweets was not enough, Michael Pedicone decided to address his firing from My Chemical Romance in a longer statement. The former MCR drummer took to Kerrang! to talk about the matter and clarify some rumors.

"To the media, my colleagues in the music industry, and, most importantly, the fans of My Chemical Romance," the drummer began. "As many of you have heard by now, on Thursday evening I was let go as the touring drummer for MCR."

The upper east siders are heading to Los Angeles in the season 5 premiere of "Gossip Girl" after Serena van der Woodsen got a new job there in the last season finale. The first promo released for the new chapter sees Dan Humphrey enjoying the companion of hot babes in the city, and jumping off a building at what looks like a movie set.

Meanwhile, Nate Archibald is smitten with a cougar played by Elizabeth Hurley, and they are ready to "destroy" the master bedroom at a yacht. Serena joins Dan and Nate on a yacht, but Blair Waldorf is seemingly not interested in following her friends to the City of Angels since she describes it "a plastic surgery layover, not somewhere you live."

Britney Spears has already prepared a promo for her next single. Picking "Criminal" as her fourth single to follow up "I Wanna Go", the Blonde belle revealed her plan to shoot a music video for the Max Martin and Shellback-produced song in London.

"So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks," Britney tweeted. "Can't wait! I LOVE London, it's like my second home. Decided to shoot the 'Criminal' video in the streets of merry old England when I get there..."

Anthony Michael Hall has got himself arrested for causing a disturbance at his Los Angeles apartment complex. His neighbors, however, were not surprised by the arrest, TMZ claimed. In fact, the gossip site noted that the star of "The Breakfast Club" has left his neighbors frightened for months.

Accordingly, the 43-year-old was often seen screaming obscenities and challenging people to fights in the street. It was also alleged that he cussed at people, flipped them off and attempted to squirt people with a hose. One person said, "I have considered buying a gun to stay safe from Hall ... he's the scariest person I've ever encountered in my life."

Regis Philbin has set his last day on "Live with Regis and Kelly". Revealing the date to the viewers, the 80-year-old said on the Tuesday (September 6) episode of the show, "Friday, November 18 is my last day," before adding, "But don't worry, the show goes on."

In anticipation of this, Philbin had kicked off the "Regis Farewell Celebration Season" on Monday, September 5. For this segment, the singer/actor invited fans to send video tributes and photos of themselves holding signs reading "Regis" or "Smile". Fans can also create a video to let "Regis know what he means to you", which can be submitted to the show's official website.

"The Big Year" has got its first official teaser trailer. The video opens with Steve Martin introducing his co-stars Jack Black and Owen Wilson before proceeding to give a look at the trio as they try to beat each other. They could only "go big or go home."

Steve portrays a soon-to-be retiree facing a work-life crisis, Jack plays a jobless dropout with a no-life crisis, while Owen is a husband with a mid-life crisis. Tired of being ruled by obligations and responsibilities, they dedicate a year of their lives to following their dreams.

Gwyneth Paltrow still couldn't believe that her encounter with a New York woman on September 11, 2001 helped save the person's life. Having recently addressed Lara Lundstrom Clarke's claim, the "Contagion" actress admitted to Access Hollywood, "It still gives me chills."

"I can't quite believe how many other people changed the course of strangers' lives that day and they're not able to reach out to them," the 38-year-old further added. On how Lara can reach out to her, she told Access' correspondent Tim Vincent in London, "She saw that it was me so she was able write that letter to me years later for a sense of closure."

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science has made it official that Eddie Murphy will host the 84th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Announcing this in a statement, telecast producers Brett Ratner and Don Mischer sang praise to the "comedic genius".

"With his love of movies, history of crafting unforgettable characters and his iconic performances - especially on stage - I know he will bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show," Ratner stated. Mischer added, "His quick wit and charisma will serve him very well as Oscar host."

Lil Wayne has secured his place at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200. The Young Money rap mogul sells big, even bigger than the previous talk of the town Jay-Z and Kanye West, with his latest studio installment "Tha Carter IV". He pulled in a grand total of 964,000 copies in its opening week, while the "Watch the Throne" duo garnered only half of it with their first joint effort last month.

This way, Weezy officially pushed aside Jigga and Yeezy as a music act with the second-largest sales week of the year. The first biggest sales week of 2011, meanwhile, is still held by Lady GaGa with her "Born This Way" which sold more than a million last July. While she is known for her theatrical make-up and avant garde costumes, Lady GaGa obviously doesn't mind dressing down for a magazine's cover. Going au natural for the October issue of Harper's Bazaar, the "Born This Way" hitmaker strips bare her face by wearing no make-up, and sports a straight and simple hairdo.

In the accompanying article, the 25-year-old tells the publication, "I don't really view it as 'natural.' " She goes on to elaborate, "I think that artifice is the new reality. Ben Flajnik has officially been named the new "Bachelor". On Tuesday, September 6, ABC finally confirmed reports that "The Bachelorette" season 7 runner-up will star on the sixteenth installment of "The Bachelor" to find love on the reality show, followed with a tweet from the 28-year-old himself, "Secret is out. Looking forward to my new journey as the new bachelor."

According to the press release, "the woman who will share his [Ben's] life will also have to share one of his other great loves: his Jack Russell Terrier, Scotch." The winemaker from Sonoma, California will make his first official appearance under the new title on the season 2 finale of "Bachelor Pad", which will last for three hours, next Monday, September 12.

Anderson Cooper will get a major boost of rating in the first episode of his new talk show, "Anderson". The reporter has scored an appearance from Amy Winehouse's family; father Mitch, mother Janis, brother Alex and boyfriend Reg Travis, who will all talk about the singer's death for the first time.

The premiere episode airs September 12 and the show will continue as daily talk show. Cooper has also sat down with the women of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" on Tuesday, September 6 to talk about the death of Taylor Armstrong's husband Russell. It is yet clear when the episode will air.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are living proofs that on-set romance can happen. The "The Place Beyond the Pines" co-stars were spotted on a date to Disneyland in Anaheim, California on Saturday, September 3, hugging and kissing.

In several pictures obtained by Us Weekly, casually-dressed Mendes stood on her toes to kiss Gosling. "They were very playful," an observer told Us. "Eva was skipping around like a little girl...She would lean into him and she held his arm the entire time."
