'DWTS' Winner Hines Ward Arrested for DUI

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has been arrested for drunk driving on early Saturday, July 9 in DeKalb County, GA. The reigning "Dancing with the Stars" champion was booked into the DeKalb County jail just outside Atlanta at 3:41 A.M. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Ward was later released on $1,300 bail which he posted shortly after booked. According to the sheriff's office, the paperwork for the arrest has been submitted to the courts but they would not release further details of the incident. A spokesperson for the Steelers did not respond for comment, the AP says.

Video: Rihanna's Concert in Dallas Caught on Fire

Fire broke out while Rihanna was entertaining her fans at Dallas' American Airlines Center on Friday, July 8. Concertgoers had to be evacuated from the venue when sparks of fire began flying down the stage due to, what appeared to be, busted lighting.

Dallas Fire-Rescue firefighters came to the scene after receiving reports that the stage curtains and some of the set were on fire. However, the fire had been put out by the time they got there. No representatives from Dallas police and fire departments made a comment about the incident but there has been no report of injuries.

Harry Lennix to Play General Swanwick in 'Man of Steel'

Harry Lennix is reportedly set to join the cast ensemble of upcoming Superman reboot, "Man of Steel". According to Variety, the 46-year-old actor, who is famously known for playing Commander Lock in the "Matrix" film franchise, has been cast for the role of General Swanwick in the forthcoming superhero film.

Other stars who have previously been cast in the movie are Henry Cavill who will play Superman, and Amy Adams who will portray Superman's love interest, Lois Lane. Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Christopher Meloni are also named in the casting department.

Bill is showing more of his power as King of Louisiana in the upcoming episode of "True Blood". In a new clip, he sends a vampire to his true death after the male bloodsucker broke the law which prohibits vampire from being filmed while feeding on human.

In another clip, Crystal ensures Jason that she can guarantee he will not be dead after being bitten by werepanthers, but her words cannot relieve his anxiety. Meanwhile, Lafayette and Tara are worrying about themselves after Eric crashed a coven meeting which they attended.

Eric Dane Expecting Second Child With Rebecca Gayheart

Another baby is on the way for Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart . The "Grey's Anatomy" actor and his actress wife, who have welcomed first daughter Billie Beatrice in March 2010, are expecting their second child together.

A friend told Life & Style that Rebecca is "glowing - and so happy." The so-called pal added, "They wanted to add another child to their family, and now they've got that! They're in a real good place." The source, however, didn't spill on how far along Rebecca is in her pregnancy.

Gearing up for the new season, "Game of Thrones" and "Desperate Housewives" have added a name each to their cast ensemble. The former has tapped "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" star Gwendoline Christie to portray Brienne, while the latter cast former "V" actor Charles Mesure for a regular role of Ben.

Brienne is the Maid of Tarth, who is described in the book as a highly skilled warrior. She is generally considered as odds due to her abnormal size, strength, and near-absence of female sexual characteristics. She is tasked to escort Jamie Lannister to King's Landing to exchange him for Sansa and Arya Stark after their capture.

The Edward Cullen of the "Twilight Saga" series was snapped rocking a patchy haircut in the wee hours of Thursday, July 7. A photo shows that his messy and long hair is being left long on one side and raggedly buzzed on another.

The 25-year-old actor debuted the punk rocker-feel do when leaving the set of current film project, "Cosmopolis", in Toronto, Canada. Donning a pair of jeans and a black printed T-shirt, he stopped for over ten minutes to sign autographs and take pictures with a group of fans.

One houseguest of "Big Brother 13" has left the pad. CBS officially announced on Friday, July 8 that Dick Donato aka Evel Dick has quit the show on Thursday, shortly after the premiere of the new cycle, due to a personal matter.

Donato, who won season 8 of the reality series, was invited back as part of this season's twist. He was joined by his estranged daughter Daniele who is relatively low key. The 48-year-old former bar manager from Los Angeles, CA went MIA not long after appearing in the premiere episode of season 13.

First Look at Dwarves Oin and Gloin of 'The Hobbit'

First look of two more dwarf characters from Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" has been unveiled. After previously releasing image of three brothers Dori, Ori and Nori, this time Warner Bros. unleashed the fresh picture of brothers Oin and Gloin. The two characters are played by John Callen and Peter Hambleton respectively.

In the film, Oin and Gloin are among the twelve dwarves who accompany Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on their quest to the Lonely Mountain. They embark on the journey to reclaim the lost kingdom Erebor and get the dwarves' lost treasure, which is stolen by the dragon Smaug.

Rapper Xzibit recently took to his Twitter and blasted the Internet fad in which people take pictures of themselves laying face down in bizarre places.

"Planking is THE dumbest s**t ever," the 36-year-old MC and TV host first tweeted on July 6. He followed it up with another tweet in which he claimed that planking stems from racist roots. "#Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny," he wrote. "Educate yourselves."

A summer song, "She Makes Me Wanna" features the British lads collaborating with American alternative artist Dev who also makes a cameo appearance in the party-themed video. Co-produced by RedOne, the track is expected to make the cut to the group's next studio installment.

The Strokes have just released a music video in support of their latest single "Taken for a Fool". Julian Casablancas and his bandmates are multiplying into several figures while performing in a dark fake forest which is digitally splattered with some bright and dull colors.

The band recorded "Taken for a Fool" for their fourth studio album called "Angles" which represented their "return to the basics." Bassist Nikolai Fraiture once said, "Sonically, I feel it's the album which should have been made between 'Room on Fire' [2003] and 'First Impressions of Earth' [2006]."

The Situation Fires Back at $1M Lawsuit by Ex-Managers

The Situation isn't staying quiet about his latest legal trouble with his former managers. After Gotham NYC Entertainment filed a lawsuit against him, the "Jersey Shore" star fired back at the suit through a statement issued by his attorney, Richard Wolfe, on Friday, July 8.

Denying Gotham's allegations that the TV personality, whose real name is Michael Sorrentino, wrongfully dumped the team back in May, Richard stated that the suit "is filled with lies and falsities that will be proven false in court." The lawyer added, "Gotham had little or nothing to do concerning Michael's rise to fame".

Screen Gems and Sony Pictures are going to invade Hall H of San Diego Comic Con 2011 on Friday, July 22. From 1:30-2:30 P.M., the former will present a panel for an anticipated new sequel of "Underworld" film series, "Underworld 4: New Dawn", and upcoming limited release "Attack the Block".

Later at 4:00-6:30 P.M., Sony will bring its potential box office films namely "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance", "Total Recall" and "The Amazing Spider-Man", as well as comedy "30 Minutes or Less" to the 6,000-seat hall. Betty Ford, the former First Lady of the United States, has died at the age of 93. According to CNN, a family member dished on that the widow of late President Gerald Ford passed away on Friday evening, July 8 with family at her bedside.

The news organization further reported that the death of the co-founder of Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California has been confirmed by the director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum. The cause of her death and other details were not immediately available.

Supernatural and sci-fi series are going to storm out to San Diego Comic Con 2011 on Friday, July 22. AMC's sophomore "The Walking Dead" will have a panel at 11:15 A.M with stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal and Sarah Wayne Callies among the panelists, while HBO will present "True Blood" panel at 5:30 P.M. in which Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Sam Trammell are scheduled to attend.

For sci-fi geeks, a panel for SyFy's "Eureka", "Warehouse 13" and "Alphas", as well as TNT's "Falling Skies" should not be missed. Josh Hamilton 'Distraught' After Fan Tried to Catch His Throw and Died

The second mishap in a major baseball this season happened on Thursday, July 7 night when Texas Rangers played against Oakland Athletics. A 39-year-old fan who attended the game fell to his death when trying to catch a baseball thrown at him by reigning American League Most Valuable Player Josh Hamilton.

Shannon Stone, a firefighter from Brownwood, Texas came to the game with his young son who tragically saw his father fell over the railing in front of him. Another fan Ronnie Hargis who sat next to Stone tried to catch him by foot but failed. "He went straight down," Hargis recalled. "I tried to grab him, but I couldn't. I tried to slow him down a little bit."

Classic Arcade Game 'Space Invaders' Turned Into Movie

"Space Invaders", arcade game from Taito and Midway that was popular in 1980s, is going big screen. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Odd Lot Entertainment's Gigi Pritzker are teaming up to develop the project and have optioned the rights to the name.

There was once a report that Warner Bros. was eying this classic game for a feature-length movie but the whispers faded out. Taking over, di Bonaventura and Pritzker are looking for a screenwriter that would come up with a story.
