The "Lollipop" hitmaker became a free man again in November 2010 after completing an eight-month prison sentence for a weapons possession charge.

While there has been no confirmation on report that Viggo Mortensen is eyed to be General Zod in Zack Snyder's Superman movie, another name is thrown as possible depicter of the villain. According to Moviehole, Warner Bros. is considering Daniel Day-Lewis for "an unspecified role in this film." The site then speculates the British star is "also on the Zod wishlist."

Day-Lewis was previously widely linked to the role of Professor Moriarty in "Sherlock Holmes" sequel which is now officially titled "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows", but it never comes to fruition as Jared Harris is cast for the part. Actress Anna Friel has confirmed speculation she's dating Rhys Ifans, just two months after splitting from David Thewlis. The "Pushing Daisies" actress parted ways from "Harry Potter" star Thewlis late in 2010 after nine years together.

Ailing actress Zsa Zsa Gabor is eying Nicole Kidman to portray her in a biopic, according to her husband Prince Frederic Von Anhalt. The 94 year old, who has been in and out of hospital in recent months, is keen to see the Aussie tackle her life story on the big screen after watching her turn in 2001 movie "Moulin Rouge!" - 49 years after she herself starred in a movie about the legendary Parisian haunt.

Von Anhalt tells E! Online, "She wants me to talk to Nicole Kidman... because she wants her to play her in her life story. Nicole made the new Moulin Rouge and Zsa Zsa did the old Moulin Rouge. She always says, 'Nicole was perfect in Moulin Rouge! She should play me in my life story.'"

Oscar winner Colin Firth and his wife Livia both wore environmentally-friendly outfits to the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 27 in a bid to raise awareness of recycled clothing. The "127 Hours" star is teaming up with director Harmony Korine to go underground for the forthcoming film and they are hoping to catch some real-life street action for the movie's climax.

But their gritty vision for the project has worried producers. A source tells the New York Post's Page Six column, "They are looking to film two actual street gangs doing a fight scene. The twist is they want the two gangs to fight, using real knives. The production team is panicked that they'll end up with blood, injuries and potentially dead bodies on set."

John Galliano's lawyer has hit back at allegations the designer hurled anti-Semitic insults at a couple during a night out in Paris, insisting it was the fashion guru who came under attack. Rapper Juvenile is in trouble with police again after he was arrested on suspicion of drug possession on Saturday, February 26. The hip-hop star, real name Terius Gray, was busted in Sterlington, Louisiana after cops discovered he was driving on a suspended license and allegedly found marijuana on his person. He was released on $750 bond, reports TMZ.com.

Juvenile's latest arrest comes just over six months after he pleaded guilty to a separate misdemeanor pot possession charge. He was handed a suspended three-month jail sentence, ordered to serve six months probation and pay fines.

Franco, who is no stranger to doing drag, appeared on the stage of 2011 Academy Awards wearing an unflattering pink gown and Marilyn Monroe-style wig. His partner, Anne Hathaway meanwhile took the duty as the man by wearing a tux. They gave what was called "performance comedy" in between the prize-giving.

Two of 2011 Academy Awards' Best Picture nominees, "The Social Network" and "The King's Speech", have won a gong each from the February 27 ceremony. The former snatches Best Adapted Screenplay title and the latter nabs Best Original Screenplay kudo.

Receiving the award from presenters Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin, "Social Network" scribe Aaron Sorkin credits director David Fincher. "I wrote this movie but David Fincher made this movie," he says, before giving a shout out to producer Scott Rudin.

The 2011 Academy Awards, which aims for fresher and more youthful look ceremony, has told Anne Hathaway and James Franco to do an "Inception". The two hosts taped an opening to the February 27 event, spoofing the nominated movies which include also "The King's Speech", "Black Swan" and "True Grit".

In the "Inception" segment, Hathaway and Franco entered Alec Baldwin's dream to steal the secret to hosting the Oscars. Baldwin, who was portrayed taking Ambien to sleep, was last year's host together with Steve Martin. Morgan Freeman narrated Baldwin's dreams because Baldwin likes his "soothing voice".

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards has just been kicked off on Sunday evening, February 27 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. After an opening from hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway, Tom Hanks takes the stage to announce the winner for the first two categories which are Achievement in Art Direction and Achievement in Cinematography.

"Alice in Wonderland" wins the art direction prize, thanks to Robert Stromberg and Karen O'Hara. "Inception" quickly follows it up with its win for best cinematography, an honor given to Wally Pfister.

Oscar favorite Natalie Portman, whose portrayal of a troubled and dedicated ballet dancer in the film has won her global acclaim, was named Best Actress, while "Black Swan" also picked up Best Feature, Best Director for Darren Aronofsky and Best Cinematography.

James Franco's performance in "127 Hours" made him the surprise winner of the Best Actor prize, beating the seemingly unstoppable Colin Firth, who has swept the board for his role in "The King's Speech" throughout awards season.

"The Last Airbender" has been deemed the Worst Picture at the 31st Annual Razzie Awards. It saved the likes of "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" and "Sex and the City 2" from taking the biggest loser title in addition to nabbing other four kudos.

The movie adaptation of Nickelodeon's TV series landed its helmer/scribe, M. Night Shyamalan, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay awards. His aim to enhance the visual with 3-D technology was not helpful either as the film was named the Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D. "Last Airbender" actor Jackson Rathbone got Worst Supporting Actor gong, partly also for his unimpressive performance in "Eclipse".
