More importantly, the character is embraced by the show's fans, prompting the producers to hire him for additional episodes. In the book series from which the show is based on, Alcide indeed continues to have a significant storyline up until the tenth.

Bryce Dallas Howard Disappointed at First Post-Partum Depression Interview

July 23, 2010 04:46:54 GMT

"The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" star Bryce Dallas Howard cringes whenever she watches her first interview following her long battle with post-partum depression - because she didn't come close to explaining how she felt during the lowest period of her life. The "Spider-Man 3" actress fears she was of no help to new mums struggling with the condition - and she should have just stared at the camera blankly in an effort to explain how she felt.

Opening up on pal Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle and wellbeing website GOOP.com as part of an article about post-partum depression, Howard writes, "I recently saw an interview I did on TV while promoting a film. In it, I was asked about my experience with post-partum depression and, as I watched, I cringed." She adds, "I said things like, 'It was a nightmare,' or, 'I felt like I was in a black hole'. But I couldn't even begin to express my true feelings... As I watched, it dawned on me if I had been able to truthfully convey my ordeal with post-partum depression under the glare of those lights, I most likely would have said no words at all. I simply would have stared at the interviewer with an expression of deep, deep loss."

July 23, 2010 03:43:44 GMT

Police union bosses have slammed rapper/actor Ice-T after he accused New York City cops of "lying" over claims he was caught driving on a suspended license. On Tuesday, July 20, police officers stopped a car driven by the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star and his wife Coco when the couple was spotted not wearing seatbelts.

A subsequent search of police records suggested Ice-T had been temporarily banned from driving and he was booked and released for the charge. The hip-hop star, real name Tracy Marrow, later logged on to the internet to blast the allegations and the arresting officer. 'Anchorman' Should Go Broadway, Steve Carrell Said

July 23, 2010 03:38:56 GMT

Comedian Steve Carell is urging Broadway bosses to consider producing "Anchorman" the musical, as a way to get movie executives back on board for a big screen sequel. "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy", starring Will Ferrell in the title role, was a box office hit when it was released in 2004.

But plans for a sequel were shelved by Paramount executives after they rejected director Adam McKay's $60 millions request for funds. Carell, who co-starred in the comedy with Ferrell and Paul Rudd, recently admitted he hasn't given up on "Anchorman 2" - and he's hoping McKay and Ferrell's idea for a Broadway run will prompt Paramount bosses to rethink their decision.
