Lily Allen has vowed to carry on penning songs after winning three prestigious Ivor Novello awards on Thursday, May 20 - and she wants Lady GaGa to record the tracks. Allen tells Britain's The Sun, "I didn't realize I was an exceptional songwriter. I still just kind of think my songs are like nursery rhymes - little ditties that I write for myself. I am overwhelmed."

Madonna is urging the citizens of Malawi to back an appeal to free two jailed gay men, branding their incarceration "backward". On Thursday, May 20, Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga were sentenced to 14 years in prison, including hard labor, because they are homosexual.

Gay icon Madonna, who adopted two of her children, David and Mercy, from the country, is fuming over the court's decision to imprison the men, and is calling for their release. Not only vampires will be a hot trend but soon wolves too. MTV has officially picked up the modern remake of '80s hit called "Teen Wolf" and will begin the production this summer for 12-episodes. Starring Tyler Posey as the newly bitten werewolf, the show is described as a "sexy thriller set against the drama of high school life with a forbidden, romantic love story at its core."

An alternate version of Beyonce Knowles' "Halo" music video has made its way out. The R&B singer is driving her car on a dark, empty street, while her on-screen lover is being chased by a bunch of men through the woods. When she parks her car on the side of the road and walked into the forest, she finds him lying lifeless.

The music video is directed by Philip Andelman and includes scenes from the previously-released video. Beyonce's love interest is portrayed by actor Michael Ealy, the same man who plays her lover in the old version of the clip.

Newly crowned Miss USA Rima Fakih is not dating Doug Reinhardt after all. Following swirling rumor which mentions Rima has been in romantic relationship with the ex-boyfriend of Paris Hilton, a source disclosed to E! News that Rima and Doug have never even met.

Report that Doug and Rima are dating was first run by Us Weekly. The publication claimed that Rima has been seeing Doug for a few weeks and they plan to get together when Rima flies out to L.A. next week.

Dimension Films is looking for young stars to join the cast ensemble of "Scream 4". According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the studio is offering key starring roles to Ashley Greene and Hayden Panettiere in the upcoming movie.

Country star Carrie Underwood has launched a relief fund to aid the victims left homeless by the floods in Nashville, Tennessee. The city has been left devastated by severe storms which lashed landmarks and homes earlier this month and the subsequent floods left much of the area underwater, claimed the lives of over 20 people and left thousands homeless.

A host of celebrities have come forward to help raise money for the relief efforts but Underwood has gone one step further by establishing the Temporary Home Fund with the Academy of Country Music's (ACM) Lifting Lives organization.

Troubled rap mogul Suge Knight has been released from jail following his arrest on alleged gun charges. The Death Row Records founder's Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was pulled over by police in Los Angeles on Thursday morning, May 20 after cops were tipped off about a man reportedly pointing a gun at another car.

Officers initiated a "high risk stop", drawing their weapons and ordering Knight and his two female companions out of the vehicle, according to TMZ.com. Reports suggest the rap boss was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon and driving with a suspended license.

Katherine Heigl's adopted daughter is "100 per cent fine" after undergoing open heart surgery. The "Knocked Up" star and her singer husband Josh Kelley welcomed baby Nancy Leigh into their family from Korea last September, when the baby was 10 months old.

Heigl revealed the tot, nicknamed Naleigh, had special needs, as well as a congenital heart defect. The baby underwent life-saving surgery when she was just two months old to repair a hole in her heart. The baby girl had another operation just before Heigl took her home to Los Angeles and the actress insists Naleigh is now in perfect health.

Lindsay Lohan won't be taken into custody when she returns from Cannes following her recently-issued arrest warrant. The 23-year-old songstress won't be facing an arrest as the official document made against her has been revoked by Los Angeles court, People reported.

A clerk told the site that the court has lifted the warrant as Lindsay posted $100,000 bail, paying a bail bondsman $10,000 for the bond, to ensure that she will attend a new hearing set date. The hearing is scheduled for Monday morning, May 24 at 8 A.M.

"Golden Girls" star Betty White has refused to end a 30-year feud with her stepdaughter Martha Ludden. The veteran actress wed Ludden's father, U.S. TV personality Allen Ludden, in 1963 when his daughter was 13.

Martha resented White for taking the place of her mother, who had died just two years earlier, in 1961, and the pair never got along. The teenager turned her anger into rebellion and her behavior caused friction with her own father.

Miley Cyrus has been in studio with Lil Jon to remix her new single "Can't Be Tamed". The Disney star and the rapper arrived separately at the Rock Mafia recording studio in Santa Monica. Before they got to work, she managed to give the MC's little son a hug.

"Yeah, I like Miley! My son likes her show [Hannah Montana]!" Lil Jon told Access Hollywood last month. "I'll probably run into her at some award show." On the collaborative project itself, he told E! Online, "It's crazy, it's crazy. I think everybody's gonna really enjoy the song." The Disney star additionally said, "He just came in and let it out. Rapper Jae Millz is facing drug possession charges after he was arrested on Tuesday, May 18 following an alleged domestic dispute. Police were called to Millz's Bronx, New York home after receiving a complaint from a woman at the property.

Notifying fans of the incident on Twitter.com, he wrote, "This woman really just called the cops on me... But u (sic) in MY house!!!" Lil Wayne's protege, real name Jarvis Mills, later tweeted that he was being taken into custody for having "an illegal substance", although further details were unavailable as WENN went to press. He has since been released from jail.

The first full-length trailer for DreamWorks' new film "Megamind" has made its way out via Yahoo! Movies. It appears that the trailer only gives preview to the background of the key storyline as it shows how Megamind and Metro Man are destined to be foes since they were babies and how they bring their feud when they have grown up.

A satirical take on superhero movies, the movie centers its story on super villain Megamind who accidentally kills his archrival Metro Man. Losing his oomph, the villain creates new superhero rival Titan. Unfortunately for him and the world, the new hero wants to be a super villain too. The new villain begins his rampage, and Megamind sets out to stop him, beginning a path to redemption in the process.

Establishing a bad boy image through his role on "Glee", Mark Salling showed a different side of him in a photo spread by GQ magazine. The 27-year-old was cheeky and fun when modeling for summer clothing in Laguna, showing off his abs and guns.

The photo shoots were done in areas around Laguna such as the Thalia beach, the Taco Loco restaurant and '50s-style beachfront hotel called Laguna Riviera. Strangely, Salling admitted to the magazine that he remembered almost none of the moments. "I was right in the middle of one of those cleanse fasts," he said.

"Shrek Forever After" has not been released in the U.S. yet and its performance at box office has not been known, but DreamWorks has a reason to be proud. Their ogre character Shrek has received the 2,408th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, May 20, just one day before the film hits theaters.

Bloc Party's frontman Kele Okereke has silenced rumors the band is over, by confirming plans to record a new album. The singer sparked gossip the "Helicopter" hitmakers were heading for a break-up in 2009 when he admitted they "might never make a record again".

The speculation was fueled when Okereke went on to record a solo album, "The Boxer", but he is adamant he has every intention of keeping Bloc Party together. He tells Britain's NME magazine, "I used to be in the band, and I will be again. I'm looking forward to seeing the other guys and making music with them. I just don't know when that will be."

Jonas Brothers were trapped in an elevator for more than half an hour after performing at a concert in Los Angeles earlier this week. The trio performed at a sold-out show at The Grove on Tuesday, May 18, but their evening turned sour when they stepped into a lift and the carriage became stuck between floors.

Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas then had to climb out of the elevator shaft after their security guards managed to open the doors, according to the New York Post's gossip column PageSix. "Rise of the Apes" has found a man who will have a significant role in the movement. Reports say James Franco has been tapped to star in the upcoming film, playing a scientist who has been working on a cure for Alzheimer's that is being tested on apes.

The test subject named Caesar starts to evolve rapidly, and Franco's character takes him home to live with him and protects him from cruel doctors. The apes, meanwhile, will not be played by actors in costumes but rather rendered digitally to be photo-realistic by WETA.

Justin Bieber has re-recorded his latest single "Somebody to Love" with his mentor Usher contributing on the hook. The remixed song made its debut on Ryan Seacrest's official blog and hit the web and radio airwaves soon afterwards.

The revamped track received positive response from Justin's fans already. "Getting hyped reading all your messages about the SOMEBODY TO LOVE remix...im real excited for the video too," he wrote on Twitter.

Few days after released from hospital, Bret Michaels has been readmitted to hospital on Thursday, May 20.
