Veteran actress Helen Mirren hates how popular tattoos have become - because she only went under the needle to cause a stir. The Oscar-winning star, who is most famous for her portrayal of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II, drunkenly had her body inked years before it was socially acceptable.

And Mirren admits she now regrets the decision - because body art has become so mainstream. She tells U.S. TV show "Good Morning America", "I was very, very drunk. It was a very, very long time ago, when only sailors and (motorcycle gang) Hells Angels were tattooed, honestly, and prisoners."

Reality TV star Heidi Montag's music career has taken an embarrassing hit - her debut album has sold just over 1,000 copies in the U.S. "The Hills" star boasted about recouping the $2 million she spent making her record, "Superficial", in a week - but it seems she'll have quite a wait.

Released on Tuesday, January 19, the album sold less than 1,000 copies in its first day and only slipped past the mark on Wednesday, January 20.

British film "An Education", sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" and war thriller "The Hurt Locker" are set to go head-to-head at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards (Feb10) - the films all scored eight nominations each. All three movies will compete against "Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire" and "Up in the Air" for the night's Best Picture prize.

Miley Cyrus has the perfect new mentor in former child star Jodie Foster. The teen sensation admits she and the Oscar winner have had phone conversations about fame - and Cyrus has taken the "Silence of The Lambs" star's advice to heart.

The "Pirates of the Carribean" star Keira Knightley has taken to life on the high seas - she's been renting a boat house in London since the beginning of this year. "American Idol" sensation Adam Lambert is back in the arms of his ex boyfriend - just three months after the pair split up. The outlandish gay rocker told the world of his sexuality in an interview with Rolling Stone in June, 2009, following months of speculation while he was competing in the U.S. talent contest.

You step on a stepping stone in the pond in order to get on a spiral staircase, which takes you up to the human-sized bird cage observatory."

Chloe Sevigny hopes her "Big Love" Golden Globe win will help to shed light on polygamous religious sects and the damages they can cause. The actress plays a member of a fictional Mormon family in the show, a role which earned her a Best Actress award at Sunday's, January 17 ceremony.

Speaking out after her win, Sevigny slammed sects like those depicted in the show. She told Daily Variety, "These women are kept extremely repressed. They should be helped. They don't even know who the president of the United States is."

British rap group N-Dubz have blasted Brit Award organizers for snubbing homegrown talent in favor of American acts at this year's ceremony. The "Playing With Fire" hitmakers are only nominated for one award at next month's bash, for their collaboration with Tinchy Stryder. And they're convinced they deserve more.

British actor Ray Winstone has defended Mel Gibson over his drink driving arrest in 2006, insisting it could have happened to anyone. The "Braveheart" star was arrested after he was spotted leaving a Malibu, California bar and subsequently sentenced to three years probation on a misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) charge.

He also prompted outrage after it was revealed he made anti-Semitic remarks to the arresting officer. Another sneak peek at forthcoming "Dear John" has been shared through a new clip. Making its way out via Trailer Park Movies, the snippet which is introduced by lead actor Channing Tatum features him begging to Amanda Seyfried to say what she wants from him so that he could stay with her.

"Dear John" follows young soldier John Tyree and Savannah Curtis, a gorgeous but idealistic college student. When he comes home on leave, John meets Savannah who is having her spring vacation and later falls in love with her.

Ben Affleck is begging wife Jennifer Garner to get pregnant one more time and give him the son he's desperate for. The couple have two daughters, Violet, four, and 12-month-old Seraphina, and Affleck is keen for a baby boy to complete the trio.

But Garner is reluctant to abandon the pre-pregnancy figure she worked so hard to achieve. The actress tells Us Weekly, "Ben would like a boy, but I don't want another baby right now." And Garner's friends are on her side, one pal telling the star, "You don't want to do that all over again. You worked hard to get your body back."

The dates of when and which TV show will be given spotlight at this year's William S. Paley Festival have been announced. As reported earlier this week, "Modern Family" will kick off the 13-day event on February 26. New shows including the recent winner of Golden Globes, "Glee", will be the main focus this year.

The likes of "Community", "FlashForward", "Cougar Town" and "The Vampire Diaries" will each occupy one day. After Jay-Z was billed to support "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" telethon, now his singer wife Beyonce Knowles is added to the all-star line-up. The benefit concert will take place on January 22 in three different places; London, Los Angeles and New York. Guitarist Tom Morello has joined Cypress Hill on the rap act's comeback album. Rage Against the Machine star Morello will appear on the title track of "Rise Up" and another tune when the new release hits stores in April 2010.

The guitarist says, "It was great to work with my longtime friends and comrades." Cypress Hill are Snoop Dogg's first signing to Priority Records. The rapper is the label's new creative chairman. In career life, Tom Morello has been enjoying huge success from his projects.

Julie Andrews has ruled out a singing comeback in 2010, insisting reports she'll be belting out classics from her films and Broadway shows have been exaggerated. The "Mary Poppins" and "The Sound of Music" star doesn't want British fans expecting her to perform songs like "Do-Re-Mi" and "A Spoonful of Sugar" when she performs in London in May 2010 - an illness earlier this century cost her her voice, and she fears she'll never get it back.

Andrews tells WENN the show at the 02 Arena will be similar to one she toured America with last year 2009 - which was more a tribute to songwriters Rodgers & Hammerstein, and featured Andrews narrating her way through the songs the duo wrote for her, showing clips from her films.

Moviemaker James Cameron has landed another honor - for his portrayal of aliens in "Avatar". Animal rights group PETA has handed the director a Proggy Award for Outstanding Feature Film for "the inspiring message in his blockbuster".

A PETA spokeswoman says, "Viewers will recognize how the plight of Avatar's catlike Na'vi people, who are faced with being driven off their land by a greedy corporation, closely echoes the real-life plight of animals on earth, many of whom continue to be torn away from their homes and families and locked up in cages in zoos, circuses, and laboratories."

A fact that has got fans of "Gossip Girl" rooting for the show will soon be ended. E! Online reported that the show's fan-favorite couple will meet a dead end in their relationship and that "it's a bad, bad breakup."

[Spoiler Alert] There will be no more Chuck and Blair romance in the upcoming episodes. This has been a rumor for sometime but E! could confirm the news, adding that the culprit in the split is Chuck. The Bass Empire successor does "something horrible" that everyone will hate him for it. His uncle Jack Bass is also involved in the implication.

Mario's music video for his single "Ooh Baby" has just made its way out via Bossip. Directed by Mickey Finnegan, it follows the "Let Me Love You" hitmaker as he is making his way to the hotel room with two girls by his side and having a threesome with them.

"Ooh Baby" is the third single from Mario's fourth studio album "D.N.A." which has been released since October 2009. It is aimed to follow up the second single "Thinkin' About You" which was put out for free download on January 7.

Black Sabbath rocker Tony Iommi is documenting his life in the hellraising band in a new autobiography. The book, "Iron Man", is due to be published in later 2010 after U.S.-based Foundry Literary & Media bought the publishing rights for a six-figure sum at auction.

Announcing the deal, Foundry boss Peter McGuigan described Iommi's tome as "'Angela's Ashes' meets 'The Ground Beneath Her Feet' meets 'Spinal Tap'." The memoir will follow the 2009 release of former bandmate Ozzy Osbourne's own autobiography.

British rockers Iron Maiden have proved their generosity to their most loyal followers - by donating memorabilia to an online charity auction accessible only to members of the band's fan club. Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood is training for a fundraising bike ride in Egypt in late January to raise money for Childline and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, which gives disabled children a musical outlet.

And the "Run to the Hills" hitmakers are lending a hand, by auctioning memorabilia including rocker Adrian Smith's guitar, a signed poster for the DVD release of their "Flight 666" tour, and a personalized USA platinum disc - the proceeds of which will go to the two charities.

Reunited rockers Jane's Addiction are refusing to abandon their comeback despite a series of in-band fights - and are returning to the studio to write their first new material in seven years. The band reunited in 2008 after Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor convinced them to join him on tour - and they revealed plans to hit the studio.

Recording sessions didn't go well, and vocalist Perry Farrell revealed he frequently fought with bandmates. He said, "ll be honest with you, we started to record and things got kind of ugly. You know, it's one of those things where the headbutting really came out when we tried to write and people were like, 'Well, I don't like that...'."

Tara Reid is set to leave her wild days behind. The "American Pie" star said yes to boyfriend Michael Axtmann when he proposed to her during a night out in Los Angeles. The couple was having dinner at The Little Door when Axtmann popped the question.

The engagement has been confirmed by Reid's rep via People. The rep said, "Michael surprised Tara with a beautiful round brilliant cut ring. Tara was so happy, and the other patrons clapped and yelled out, 'Congratulations'." No wedding date has been set but it will be a small summer wedding attended by friends and family only.

Wyclef Jean is desperate for good news about the arts school his Yele foundation built in his native Haiti - because the entire site was crushed by an earthquake last week, January 12, and he fears all the students and teachers are dead. The Yele Center was less than a year old when it collapsed during the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, which shook Haiti, and Jean, who visited his homeland at the weekend, admits he fears the worst.

He says, "As of now... everyone passed away." He adds, "The idea of a school collapsing... and every kid in the school, including the teachers, just completely wiped out is unheard of."

"Survivor" TV star Jennifer Lyon has lost her battle with breast cancer, aged 37. Lyon appeared on the U.S. competition's tenth season on the Pacific island of Palau in 2005.

She was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer that same year after placing fourth in the series, and used her celebrity to advocate for breast cancer awareness and fundraising. Lyon underwent a double mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy treatment, but died at her home in Oregon on Tuesday, January 19.

A fresh material from Gorillaz called "Stylo" has been leaked. "A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole on my island! My single's leaked! STYLO!," member Murdoc Niccals tweeted.

Hours later, he posted a link to the band's official website which has been updated with an audio stream of the single. Featuring Bobby Womack and Mos Def, "Stylo" was supposed to be released on January 26. It is confirmed to appear in Gorillaz's next installment "Plastic Beach".

"Glee" star Dianna Agron is adding writer to her resume - after selling her first movie screenplay. The 23-year-old actress, who got her big break in the Golden Globe-winning musical series, admits she's on a lucky streak after finding success with her first screenwriting venture.

"American Idol" recovered from the minimum talents that Chicago offered yesterday, issuing 31 golden tickets in Orlando. Kristin Chenoweth who won an Emmy last year, assisted Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson at spotting the talents that range from a man who did not make it to Hollywood round once to an ex-con who just wants to put a smile on his family's face.

But first of all, the show welcomed a very shiny man named Theo Glinton who wore long scarf and glitters on his face. He sang "Heartbreaker" but couldn't maintain the key so he did not qualify. Pregnant singer Dannii Minogue has dismissed rumors she's set to quit Britain to return to her native Australia - insisting she plans to raise her baby in both countries. The star, who is a judge on U.K. TV show "The X Factor", recently announced she is expecting her first child with her British rugby player partner, Kris Smith.

Minogue was subsequently reported to be returning to her homeland to raise the tot with the help of her Aussie relatives. But the 38 year old admits that although she plans to give birth Down Under, her new family will split their time between London and her hometown of Melbourne.

William H. Macy has ruled out starring on Felicity Huffman's show "Desperate Housewives" - because he's worried he would ruin the sitcom by appearing opposite his wife. The "Fargo" star is a huge fan of the hit series but he insists he would turn down the chance to make a cameo in a scene with Huffman, who he married in 1997, because he doesn't want to disappoint fans.

The Dudley Frank of "Wild Hogs" tells OK! magazine, "It feels like that's her gig, and she's so good on the show. I love watching her on it so much, that I think it's best that I not do it."

A teaser trailer for "Buried" starring Ryan Reynolds has been made available for viewing pleasure. An exclusive courtesy of MTV, the trailer shows the actor who makes a record with his cellphone in a small dark space.

Soon after, MTV debuted a clip for the drama film. This clip manages to reveal that Reynolds is a hostage and is buried alive with the cellphone to make a video for his captors. He additionally gets threat that someone close to him will be shot if he refuses to record the video.

Jason Derulo has debuted a music video in support of his latest single "In My Head". The R&B performer is seen wooing a girl who plays his love interest in this newly-premiered video. He is also seen dancing with several guys outside of a grocery store.

"In My Head" is taken from Jason's first studio album "Jason Derulo" which is due in March. When opening for Lady GaGa in St. Louis, he revealed inspiration behind the song. He stated that it was written around a one night stand he had encountered while staying in the state.

Sarah Jessica Parker has confirmed she will be injecting her style sense into top designer brand Halston - the actress has been named as the label's new president. The fashion-forward star will also take on the role of Chief Creative Officer and will be putting her signature stamp on the brand's designs.

Parker, who launched her own affordable apparel line Bitten for U.S. retail giant Steve & Barry's in 2007, will follow in the footsteps of Lindsay Lohan, who took a job as creative consultant at French fashion house Emanuel Ungaro in 2009 .

Ricky Gervais has defended his risque routine at Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, January 17 - insisting none of the celebrities he poked fun at were offended by his jokes. The British funnyman has received mixed reviews for his efforts hosting the glitzy awards show, after making a series of gags about stars in the audience.

At one point Gervais poked fun at Mickey Rourke's big build, saying, "I haven't got a bad word to say about him... mainly because he has arms as big as my legs." Throughout the show he also joked about Mel Gibson's love of drinking and Sir Paul McCartney's divorce from Heather Mills.

Walt Disney Pictures has teased audience by releasing a new behind the scene clip from "Alice in Wonderland", a movie which will be released in U.S. theaters on March 5. Debuted by Yahoo! Movies, the video does not only present scenes exposing Mad Hatter, but also features commentary from Johnny Depp who talks about his character.

Additionally, Yahoo! Movies has also got its hand on some new pictures from the Tim Burton's adventure movie. Though the stills do not reveal any new character, one of the images manages to give a close look at Underland. Underland is the same fantastical land that Alice visited as a child, but she misheard the word "Underland" and thought they said "Wonderland," so read the explanation written alongside the picture.

Vampire Weekend enter at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 with their second studio album "Contra". Scanning more than 120,000 copies in its first week on sale, the XL Recordings release forces last week's champ Ke$ha's "Animal" to fall to No. 3.

This band's album becomes the first independent album to rule the chart since Pearl Jam's "Backspacer" bowed at the hot spot back in September 2009. The effort is also the first chart-topper in XL's 20-year history. The label's previous highest debut was scored by Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" which started at No. 2 in 2006.

Mel Gibson has become "stronger" since his drink-drive arrest in 2006, because it forced him to face his biggest fear - "public humiliation." The "Braveheart" star was arrested for getting behind the wheel while intoxicated and subsequently sentenced to three years' probation on a misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) charge.

Details on the new reality show that forces David Hasselhoff to quit "America's Got Talent" have been released. The series, which is yet to be titled, is picked up by A&E for 10 half-hour episodes. It focuses on Hasselhoff's business ventures and his role as a single parent to two teenage daughters.

Beyond following the former "Baywatch" star, the show will also focus on his daughters' journey in breaking the recording industry. "It's the dream of every parent to be able to help their children succeed," Hasselhoff said in a statement. "I told the girls that I would help them open the door when they are ready, but they would have to walk through it on their own."

Brittany Murphy's mother and widower have shot down reports the late actress' death was caused by drug abuse and an eating disorder. Murphy was only 32 when she died on December 20, 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest. The cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology test results.

Murphy's sudden passing sparked reports of drug abuse after pill bottles were found by officials at the couple's Hollywood Hills home. Monjack reveals Murphy suffered from a heart valve condition called mitral valve prolapse, and only took medication to treat that and heavy cramps she suffered when she was on her period, adding, "If she'd taken cocaine, she would have died the same second."

Using his fame, Adam Lambert teams up with ET and Red Cross to get people donating for Haiti earthquake victims. The runner up of "American Idol" season 8 has recorded a PSA that shows the devastating condition in the Caribbean island post the disaster. Lambert explains how people can contribute with only one dollar.

Beside Lambert, a number of celebrities including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Selena Gomez and Christina Aguilera will join a telethon that airs in over 30 major networks on Friday, January 22 starting 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. PST. Some will be performing live while some will be on the phone lines to take the calls from generous viewers.

Wyclef Jean has canceled his upcoming shows in Australia so he can concentrate on helping survivors of the Haiti earthquake. The former The Fugees star, who was born in Haiti, has been spearheading aid efforts in the Caribbean country following the devastating tremor that rocked the nation last Tuesday, January 12.

Jean was due to fly Down Under later in January to perform five shows as part of the Raggamuffin 2010 music festival, but he's now canceled his trip so he can focus on working with his Yele Haiti Foundation. Festival organizers have confirmed Jean has scrapped his planned appearance - but reveal he has vowed to perform at 2011 event.

The entire episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on January 21 was dedicated for Haitian earthquake. Rihanna, who is set to sing at the upcoming "Hope for Haiti" concert in London, delivered her rendition of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" during the primetime talk show.

And after over a decade in film, Owen is on the hunt for the perfect project to get him back in front of a live audience. He says, "I have been looking at some options. I haven't been onstage for quite a while so it's really about finding a role I have a huge appetite to play."

Actress Kristen Bell's New Year started off with a medical scare - after suffering a painful bee sting inside her ear. The "Heroes" star was hiking near her Los Angeles home with her dog when a bee wandered into her ear and couldn't find its way out.

Bell frantically tried to get the insect to buzz off but she was unsuccessful and got stung - and she insists the pain was excruciating when her ear began to swell. She says, "I was stung by a bee in my ear on New Year's Eve. You forget (and think) only kids are stung by bees. I was on a hike with my dog and it hurt so f**king much."

More looks at Dakota Fanning in "The Runaways" have been shown through some fresh pictures. Beside highlighting the two major characters, Fanning's Cherie Currie and Kristen Stewart's Joan Jett, the stills also manage to introduce the whole members of the band.

HBO released two promos for 10-part miniseries "The Pacific" which comes from the producers of "Band of Brothers". One is pure trailer that highlights on the war scene from underwater view and the other is an on-set featurette that has the producers, writers and directors explaining the essence of the epic drama.

Steven Spielberg said it is not only the story of human corruption and a private war but also the story of soldiers fighting the element of natural environment. "We have three main characters, two of which wrote books about the experience. Eugene Sledge and Robert Leckie and a man by the name of John Basilone," producer Tom Hanks said.

A representative for Brooke Shields has brushed off reports of trouble with the tax office, insisting a mix-up with official documents has now been corrected. The actress and her husband Chris Henchy were reportedly facing a $10,000 bill after executives at America's Internal Revenue Service [IRS] filed a federal tax lien on December 31, 2009 relating to payments from 2004 and 2005.

But a spokesperson for Shields has put the matter down to a mistake in paperwork, insisting the couple's taxes are fully paid up. The rep tells GossipCop.com, "[The story is] completely wrong. Brooke doesn't owe anything. All taxes were filed and paid timely. The IRS credited her payments to the wrong tax account."

Alec Baldwin missed out on picking up an award at the Golden Globes - because he was busy taking part in a charity sledding contest in Canada. The funnyman was named Best Actor in a TV Series/Comedy or Musical for his work on "30 Rock" at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 17.

But Baldwin was not present at the glitzy show to pick up his prize as he was attending The Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational charity event in Alberta, Canada. The star joined in the fun in aid of Robert F. Kennedy Jr's Waterkeeper Alliance, which aims to protect North American waterways, and raced down the slopes in a sledding contest with Robert Kennedy III.

NBC has taken a measure to anticipate the lost of 10/9c hour filler when "The Jay Leno Show" finishes its primetime run on February 11. The peacock is ordering more episodes from its series such as "Trauma" and "Community" and even extending the number of "The Office" and "30 Rock" which have gotten the full 22-episode order.

"Trauma", the new medical drama, receives four more episodes although the show is not doing well in the rating. NBC initially wanted to cancel the show after the first 13 episodes but decided later to bring it up to 16. With the new order, the show gets a total of 20 episodes. Meanwhile, critically-acclaimed but equally not stellar in rating, "Community" gets additional three.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on January 31 will have Michael Jackson remembered through an all-star performance. Grammy-winning artists Carrie Underwood, Usher, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson will team up together for the tribute show.

Their performance will feature Michael's vocal on hit single "Earth Song". Also, a never-before-seen 3-D mini movie created by the late King of Pop for his This Is It concert series will be displayed on the big screen. "It was one of the most important portions of the concert tour to Michael and when Michael saw the film for the first time at his last rehearsal, there were tears in his eyes," Grammy Co-Executive Producer and longtime Jackson associate Ken Ehrlich commented on the film.

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has pleaded guilty to assault charges after she was accused of attacking a theater boss during a 2009 Christmas play in the U.K. The venue's manager, Richard Pound, claimed the "Back to Black" hitmaker kicked him in the groin when he asked her to stop shouting obscenities during a performance of "Cinderella" in Milton Keynes, England on December 19, 2009.

Parents in the audience reportedly complained about the star's shouting and cursing throughout the show, and she is said to have attacked Pound when he tried to move her to a private box. He filed a complaint with local Thames Valley police and Winehouse was arrested on December 23, 2009 after she turned herself into authorities.

Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller has been admitted to hospital due to complications following an oral surgery. And despite being ordered not to have any contact with her, the "Two and a Half Men" star is allowed to visit her at the facility.

According to his representative, Charlie immediately went to the hospital soon after learning about Brooke's condition and having the judge's permission. However, "because of the restraining order still in place, he was not allowed to speak with her but she was aware he was there," the spokesperson said before adding that the actor is very concerned about his wife.
