Veteran actress Helen Mirren hates how popular tattoos have become - because she only went under the needle to cause a stir. The Oscar-winning star, who is most famous for her portrayal of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II, drunkenly had her body inked years before it was socially acceptable.

And Mirren admits she now regrets the decision - because body art has become so mainstream. She tells U.S. TV show "Good Morning America", "I was very, very drunk. It was a very, very long time ago, when only sailors and (motorcycle gang) Hells Angels were tattooed, honestly, and prisoners."

Reality TV star Heidi Montag's music career has taken an embarrassing hit - her debut album has sold just over 1,000 copies in the U.S. "The Hills" star boasted about recouping the $2 million she spent making her record, "Superficial", in a week - but it seems she'll have quite a wait.

Released on Tuesday, January 19, the album sold less than 1,000 copies in its first day and only slipped past the mark on Wednesday, January 20.

'Avatar' and 'The Hurt Locker' Lead 2010 BAFTA Nominations

British film "An Education", sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" and war thriller "The Hurt Locker" are set to go head-to-head at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards (Feb10) - the films all scored eight nominations each. All three movies will compete against "Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire" and "Up in the Air" for the night's Best Picture prize.

Neill Blomkamp's sci-fi thriller "District 9" is also up for seven awards, while Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and George Clooney's "Up in the Air" have six nominations apiece. "An Education" star Carey Mulligan will compete for the Best Actress statue, facing competition from Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep ("Julie & Julia"), French star Audrey Tautou ("Coco Before Chanel"), Saoirse Ronan ("The Lovely Bones") and Gabourey Sidibe ("Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire").

The British beauty, who made her name in the blockbuster pirate franchise, has rented out the barge on London's canal system to use as a sanctuary until the end of summer.

The star and her actor boyfriend Rupert Friend sneak off to their vessel every weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in the British capital, according to The Sun newspaper. A fellow boat owner tells the publication, "They've hired the boat until the summer and they seem really happy. They spend most weekends on it, brewing up pots of tea."

Moviemaker James Cameron has landed another honor - for his portrayal of aliens in "Avatar". Animal rights group PETA has handed the director a Proggy Award for Outstanding Feature Film for "the inspiring message in his blockbuster".

A PETA spokeswoman says, "Viewers will recognize how the plight of Avatar's catlike Na'vi people, who are faced with being driven off their land by a greedy corporation, closely echoes the real-life plight of animals on earth, many of whom continue to be torn away from their homes and families and locked up in cages in zoos, circuses, and laboratories."

Tony Iommi's Black Sabbath Life to Be Presented in Autobiography

Black Sabbath rocker Tony Iommi is documenting his life in the hellraising band in a new autobiography. The book, "Iron Man", is due to be published in later 2010 after U.S.-based Foundry Literary & Media bought the publishing rights for a six-figure sum at auction.

Announcing the deal, Foundry boss Peter McGuigan described Iommi's tome as "'Angela's Ashes' meets 'The Ground Beneath Her Feet' meets 'Spinal Tap'." The memoir will follow the 2009 release of former bandmate Ozzy Osbourne's own autobiography.

Recording sessions didn't go well, and vocalist Perry Farrell revealed he frequently fought with bandmates. He said, "ll be honest with you, we started to record and things got kind of ugly. You know, it's one of those things where the headbutting really came out when we tried to write and people were like, 'Well, I don't like that...'."

Star of 'Survivor' Dies From Breast Cancer at Age 37

"Survivor" TV star Jennifer Lyon has lost her battle with breast cancer, aged 37. Lyon appeared on the U.S. competition's tenth season on the Pacific island of Palau in 2005.

She was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer that same year after placing fourth in the series, and used her celebrity to advocate for breast cancer awareness and fundraising. Lyon underwent a double mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy treatment, but died at her home in Oregon on Tuesday, January 19.

Walt Disney Pictures has teased audience by releasing a new behind the scene clip from "Alice in Wonderland", a movie which will be released in U.S. theaters on March 5. Debuted by Yahoo! Movies, the video does not only present scenes exposing Mad Hatter, but also features commentary from Johnny Depp who talks about his character.

Additionally, Yahoo! Movies has also got its hand on some new pictures from the Tim Burton's adventure movie. Though the stills do not reveal any new character, one of the images manages to give a close look at Underland. Underland is the same fantastical land that Alice visited as a child, but she misheard the word "Underland" and thought they said "Wonderland," so read the explanation written alongside the picture.

Vampire Weekend enter at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 with their second studio album "Contra". Scanning more than 120,000 copies in its first week on sale, the XL Recordings release forces last week's champ Ke$ha's "Animal" to fall to No. 3.

This band's album becomes the first independent album to rule the chart since Pearl Jam's "Backspacer" bowed at the hot spot back in September 2009. The effort is also the first chart-topper in XL's 20-year history. The label's previous highest debut was scored by Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" which started at No. 2 in 2006.

Details on the new reality show that forces David Hasselhoff to quit "America's Got Talent" have been released. The series, which is yet to be titled, is picked up by A&E for 10 half-hour episodes. It focuses on Hasselhoff's business ventures and his role as a single parent to two teenage daughters.

Beyond following the former "Baywatch" star, the show will also focus on his daughters' journey in breaking the recording industry. "It's the dream of every parent to be able to help their children succeed," Hasselhoff said in a statement. NBC Orders More 'Trauma' and Other Shows to Fill 'Leno' Slot

NBC has taken a measure to anticipate the lost of 10/9c hour filler when "The Jay Leno Show" finishes its primetime run on February 11. The peacock is ordering more episodes from its series such as "Trauma" and "Community" and even extending the number of "The Office" and "30 Rock" which have gotten the full 22-episode order.

"Trauma", the new medical drama, receives four more episodes although the show is not doing well in the rating.
