Florence and the Machine Topped U.K. Albums Chart

Cult act Florence and the Machine have topped the British album chart 28 weeks after making their debut with "Lungs". Singer Florence Welch and her band debuted the record at number two back in July 2009, but they were no competition for Michael Jackson, who kept the group from the top spot for five weeks following his death in June 2009.

Meanwhile, another acclaimed indie act, Vampire Weekend debut at three on the new countdown with "Contra" - a place behind Paolo Nutini's "Sunny Side Up".

Aussie actor Simon Baker received a tuneful treat as he was honored at the G'Day USA gala on Saturday, January 16 - fellow antipodeans Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban sang him a duet. "The Mentalist" actor was picking up an Excellence in Television and Film Award, along with "Muriel's Wedding" star Toni Collette, at the Aussie ex-patriates' ball, which takes place annually in Hollywood during Los Angeles' Australia Week.

And Kidman, who was scheduled to present the award, gave Baker a taste of home as she appeared on stage with her husband - before kicking off her shoes and dancing and singing while Urban strummed Men at Work classic, "Down Under". The pair playfully changed the lyrics to, "His name is Simon Baker. Surfer dude. Home renovator. He was bound to be a Hollywood player."

Marion Cotillard and Franz Ferdinand Hit Studio for Dior Duet

French Oscar winner Marion Cotillard has teamed up with Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand to record a new song for fashion house Dior. The "Nine" star, who is the face of the French brand, has stepped up to the microphone to sing lead vocals on Franz Ferdinand's "The Eyes Of Mars".

The tune will accompany a new Dior commercial, starring Cotillard, who portrayed torch singer Edith Piaf in "La Vie en Rose". The role won her a Best Actress Oscar in 2008.

Axl Rose Denies Guns N' Roses Reunion

Axl Rose has ruled out any chance of an original Guns N' Roses reunion, insisting even the Haiti earthquake wouldn't prompt him to stage a one-off charity get together. The rocker fired off a Twitter post to ex-bandmate Slash last week, January 15, after the guitarist suggested a big-name concert should be arranged to help the relief effort in Haiti.

Thinking his ex-bandmate was suggesting Guns N' Rose should reform for the event, Rose took to Twitter.com and posted, "Pretty low n' selfish usin' the devastation in Haiti 2 start (false) reunion rumors. R hearts n' prayers go out to the Haitian people." But, further study of Slash's original message revealed he wasn't suggesting a reunion. He wrote, "looking into organizing a big fund raiser concert for Haiti."

Rapper Rick Ross is hosting a charity drive to collect blood donations desperately needed to help aid Haiti's injured citizens following Tuesday's, January 12 devastating earthquake.

The "Boss" hitmaker will hit the streets in Pembroke Pines, Florida on Monday, January 18 to help teams at The Community Blood Centers and 24 Hour Fitness to help rally up donators at a blood drive for the struggling nation. According to latest reports, it is feared the death toll due to the 7.0-magnitude tremor will top 100,000, with many millions more injured, wounded and homeless.

Child-Pornography Charged Pete Townshend Grateful for Daughter's Support

The Who rocker Pete Townshend has credited his daughter Emma for helping him through his devastating 2003 arrest for using a credit card to access a website that allegedly advertised child pornography. The "My Generation" hitmaker has paid tribute to the 40 year old, who is a gardening writer, in a newspaper column for Britain's The Times.

Townshend claims his daughter's unwavering support helped him stay strong while police completed an investigation. He writes, "Even as a kid she seemed to grasp situations very quickly and know how to deal with them. She always knows the right things to say. When I got arrested in 2003 on the child-pornography charge, she was certainly one of the first people I turned to."

Walt Disney Pictures has shared another sneak peek at "When in Rome" by releasing a brand new clip. Debuted by Cinema Blend, the snippet gives a preview to the scenes in which Josh Duhamel's Nick Beamon and Kristen Bell's Beth Harper have a dinner in a dark restaurant during his last night in Rome.

In the film, Beth is described as an ambitious young New Yorker who is completely unlucky in love. When her younger sister impulsively marries in Rome, she takes a whirlwind trip to Rome. There, she picks up coins from a reputed "fountain of love" and is then aggressively pursued by an odd band of suitors. When charming reporter Nick pursues her with equal zest, she starts to wonder if his love is the real thing.

James Cameron has pulled himself out of competition to be director of untitled Spider-Man reboot. Speaking to MTV at the red carpet of the 15th Annual Critics' Choice Awards on Friday, January 15, the helmer said he is not interested in the project, claiming it is not being done thoroughly. "It's a little bit sloppy seconds, let's face it," he said. "I'm not interested."

Contrary to rumors which mentioned that he has been considered by Sony Pictures to tackle the "Spider-Man" reboot, the "Avatar" director told MTV the news was not true. "I haven't gotten a phone call," Cameron admitted, before adding "I don't expect to - certainly [not] after this interview."

After more than 7 months off the screen, "Lost" will be back with the final season on February 2. This date was almost pre-empted by President Barack Obama's first State of Union speech. On Set Pictures of 'Predators' Reveal the Aliens

Several behind the scenes pictures of "Predators" have been shared on AvPGgalaxy, giving the first look at aliens from the upcoming movie. Additionally, the shots also capture some of the actors, including Adrien Brody and Alice Braga, posing on the film's set which looks like a barren jungle.

"Predators" began production in September 2009 and mostly took place in Hawaii. Serving behind the lens is Nimrod Antal with Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellan producing. Beside Adrien Brody and Alice Braga, the film has Topher Grace, Danny Trejo and Laurence Fishburne among the cast ensemble.

The sketch sees Hader as Jake Sully, being sent to Pandora to begin the mating process with Neytiri. 67th Golden Globes: Full Winners List in Movie

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards has been wrapped and has handed out all the prizes. James Cameron showed up on the stage twice as his movie "Avatar" has been honored with two kudos. The big-budget sci-fi won Best Motion Picture - Drama prize while its director Cameron was named Best Director.

Also grabbing two gongs that night were "Up" and "Crazy Heart". After being announced as Best Animated Feature Film, the Pixar's animation also grabbed Best Original Score prize, giving the honor to soundtrack composer Michael Giacchino. In the meantime, the drama musical's theme song "The Weary Kind" has been chosen as Best Original Score while its actor Jeff Bridges landed Best Drama Actor award.

Pete Doherty Investigated Over Actor's Death

Pete Doherty is facing a fresh police investigation over an actor who fell to his death at a party - the British rocker's bodyguard has reportedly admitted pushing the man onto the balcony he plunged from. The Babyshambles star was attending a bash at an apartment in London in December 2006 when an argument broke out among guests, leading to budding actor Mark Blanco toppling from a ledge onto the street below.

He later died in hospital from severe head injuries. Blanco's death came amid speculation that Doherty, his bodyguard Johnny 'Headlock' Jeannevol, and party host Paul Roundhill were involved in the incident. An inquest heard the three men had argued with Blanco, with Jeannevol admitting he forced the actor out of the flat and Roundhill revealing he punched him during the scuffle.

It may be a hint that he will be following younger brother Nick Jonas to form his own band now that the Jonas band are on hiatus following Kevin Jonas' wedding and the end of the band's first world tour.

"I've written about five songs with some of my friends in different bands and things like that," he told E! Online. "With Grammy Week coming up, all my friends and all these musicians are flying in. I love writing with musicians."

67th Golden Globes: Alec Baldwin for Best Comedy Actor

More names and titles are read out at the 67th Annual Golden Globes and Alec Baldwin's is among them. The actor represents "30 Rock" to win the first award for the comedy series. Tina Fey has lost the title of Best Actress in Comedy to Toni Collette earlier at the event but the show is still running for Best Comedy Series. Unfortunately Baldwin is a no-show. Presenters Ashton Kutcher and Jennifer Garner thus receive it for him.

Before Baldwin's victory, "Grey Gardens" won its second award of the night. Drew Barrymore hopped on stage to be handed Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Looking very nervous, Barrymore said on her acceptance speech, "Oh, God, I'm not very good at this," before going on thanking the producers for giving her the role of eccentric "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale although she's known to be a goofy actress.

The best in television and movies are honored at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 17. Winning the first prize from the event is Toni Collette for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical on "United States of Tara". Collette had previously won 2009 Emmy Awards for the same category.

"Gee thank you so much. This is a real pleasure," Collette said in her acceptance speech. "The last time I came here 15 years ago I was on the loo and missed my whole category."

2010 Golden Globe Awards has been held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 17 night in Beverly Hills, California, and despite the rain, red carpet is rolled out to welcome celebrities attending the annual event. Taylor Lautner is wearing a black tuxedo matched with a bow tie, while Leona Lewis and Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie are donning purple long dresses.
