'End of Steve', a New Series by Matthew Perry

Matthew Perry will have his own dark comedy series on Showtime, "End of Steve". The TV network has picked up the series which was written and produced by Perry and a veteran producer, Peter Tolan, from Sony Picture Television.

The series will star Perry as the main character, Steve. He is the host of a local talk show in Rochester, N.Y, who is unhappy, egomaniacal, and seeking redemption both personally and professionally. Steve tries hard to achieve professional and personal happiness including romance.

'HSM' Stars Talk About U.S. Presidential Election

Reaching the age of consent to be able to vote in the highly anticipated U.S. presidential election this coming November, cast of Disney's "High School Musical" break their silence over getting able to vote for the first time. Corbin Bleu, Zac Efron, and Matt Prokop have all shared their political views with Hollyscoop.

Unlike Zac who declined to share about which candidate he will vote for, Bleu willingly shared he's voting for Barack Obama. "I am registered to vote, and I'm a Barack Obama supporter," the young actor proudly said.

'Twilight' Sequel Geared Up

Though "Twilight" won't be hitting the big screen until November, Summit Entertainment have been reported to move ahead with the making of its sequel. Breaking out the report on Monday, October 13, Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily noted that the sequel will be based on Stephenie Meyer's next book of the series, "New Moon".

Though mentioning that the studio have officially gone ahead with their plan for the sequel, no further details about the sequel is shared. About the book from which the second movie will be based on, it has been said to be focused on losing true love. In the follow-up story, Isabella "Bella" Swan has grown to be an eighteen-year-old young woman.

Doctor Orders Janet Jackson to Call Off More Shows

Due to her mystery ailment, Janet Jackson has been advised by her doctor to cancel another gig from her "Rock Witchu" tour. She was actually scheduled to resume her tour on Monday night, October 13 at Syracuse's Turning Stone Resort in New York after canceling a show over the weekend in Connecticut but "due to doctor's order", the show has been canceled.

Since briefly hospitalized in Montreal during a sound check before taking the stage on September 29, Jackson has scrapped at least six dates from the scheduled shows of her "Rock Witchu" tour. Beside ordered to postpone the October-13 gig, Jackson is also asked to scrap planned show in the Big Apple which has been re-scheduled from October 16 to November 1.

Terrence Howard Out of 'Iron Man 2', Don Cheadle In

Though expressing his enthusiasm for "Iron Man" follow-up earlier, Terrence Howard apparently won't be making another appearance in "Iron Man 2". Giving an updated report on the casting news, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that the 39-year-old's part as Lt. Col James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Tony Stark's best friend and future War Machine, will be taken over by his fellow "Crash" actor Don Cheadle.

Speculating further on Howard's exit from the sequel, the publication noted that the conflict between Howard and Marvel Studios may be grounded from the financial differences, especially with the previous financial problem with director Jon Favreau. It should be noted though that Marvel have yet to release any statement on this possible replacement of Howard with the "Hotel Rwanda" star.

'Easy Money' and 'Valentine' Will Be on Hiatus

The CW drama series, "Easy Money" and "Valentine", will be shut down temporarily. Media Rights Capital as the producer of the series has confirmed on Monday, October 13, that the hiatuses are given for about 4 to 6 weeks.

An MRC spokeswoman said that the time-off has the function to give the writers time to finish the script schedule. It also can give time for MRC to examine the shows' ratings which later on can be the basis to decide whether the shows must go on or not.

Marriage Break-Up Inspires Kenny Chesney to Write New Songs

Kenny Chesney pens new singles about his failed marriage with Renee Zellweger. Revealing that he had been working on his upcoming album since 2005, just weeks after his divorce, he says, "It's no secret ... there are about four or five songs that are about Renee."

"I was probably as emotionally and mentally exhausted as I'd ever been. And that was due to a lot of things ... having the foot on the gas pedal constantly, and my breakup with Renee Zellweger," he explains about the writing process of his new songs. "It's the truth. It's my life. I've been in a lot of states of mind in the last three years...I've let myself be more emotionally vulnerable in some of the lyrics. I think that was good therapy."

'Green Lantern' Rumors Addressed

While promoting his ABC television show "Eli Stone", screenwriter Marc Guggenheim sets the stone straight on the rumors flying around the forthcoming comic book adaptation "Green Lantern", including the one which suggested that Ryan Gosling is eyed for the titular role. About the latter issue, he confesses to Newsarama, "I read that online, actually."

Though noting that he has no idea on Gosling's rumored part, he is excited of the possibility stating further, "That was how I got that news. As one of the writers, I'm not really involved in the day-to-day pre-production on it all. But I think it would be pretty amazing. I'll go on record saying that."

Jessica Simpson Denies Ring Shopping Report

Pouring cold water to the circulating rumors that she and Tony Romo have been spotted ring shopping at a Neiman Marcus store in Dallas and are planning to hold a winter wedding, Jessica Simpson insisted she and Tony are not engaged just yet and haven't even gone to the store. "We are not engaged," Jessica told Entertainment Tonight when setting the record straight on the ring shopping report.

"Tony and I have not gone to Neiman Marcus - somebody said we bought a ring there. I couldn't drag Tony in to Neiman Marcus if I tried," she explained with a laugh. Though so, Jessica admitted she and Tony "are doing great" and she even still wears her "No. 9 jersey proud."

'Max Payne' Hits Hollywood With Premiere

The live-action adaptation of popular 2001 video game "Max Payne" has rolled down its red carpet in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater in celebration of its Hollywood premiere. The special event was held on Monday, October 13, evening and saw many of its stars as well as celebrity guests walking down the red carpet.

Joining director John Moore for the special occasion was the leading man Mark Wahlberg. The 37-year-old actor arrived to the premiere accompanied by his actress fiancee Rhea Durham. Aside from Wahlberg, other cast ensemble spotted at the event included Mila Kunis, Chris O'Donnell, Nelly Furtado, Ludacris, Amaury Nolasco, Marianthi Evan and Donal Logue.

Katy Perry has been confirmed to make a hosting job at this year's MTV European Music Awards. Wanting to present a "much more informal and relaxed" show, the executive producer for the event Richard Godfrey considers Perry as a perfect figure for the show's host regarding her recent "definite musical twist."

"To follow in the footsteps of previous hosts Christina Aguilera, Tom Jones, P. Diddy, and Snoop Dogg at this prestigious event is an incredible honor," the 23-year-old singer shares her excitement concerning her upcoming duty. "Do they know what they are getting into? Carla Gugino Steps Into 'Every Day'

"Every Day" drama movie has completed its casts. Carla Gugino, as Variety has reported, has been selected as the last actor to join the film's ensemble, portraying a sexy colleague of Liev Schreiber. Her character holds a crucial part in the story as she will be the one who generates the turmoil in the marriage of Schreiber's character.

Additionally, the other main characters belong to Schreiber and Helen Hunt, who both will act as a married couple. Since the cast ensemble has been completed, the flick is going to begin its shooting sometime this month. The shooting location of "Every Day" has been set in New York.

'Veronica Mars' Creator Produces Upcoming Comedy Series, 'Party Down'

"Veronica Mars" creator, Rob Thomas, is going to produce his TV series comedy entitled, "Party Down". Thomas created the series with "Mars" veterans John Enbom and Dan Etheridge, along with actor Paul Rudd. The new series will be premiered on Starz TV network in early 2009 with 10 episodes for its first season.

"We'll have opportunity for satirical lampooning of whatever subset the party represents as we tell the ongoing stories of our catering crew," Thomas says in a statement. "If the original British version of 'The Office' was a show about people who have given themselves over completely to the rat race, 'Party Down' is a show about people who have chased the dream for far too long. We're particularly interested in mining the comedy of what happens as the dream fades."

Fall Out Boy change the release date of their upcoming fifth major studio effort "Folie a Deux" which was originally set to be dropped on November 4 to coincide with American general election day. "6 months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute," the band wrote on their official website.

"This is the most important election of our time and, as much as the record is a social commentary and the term 'Folie a Deux' is relevant to the candidates, we felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election," the punk band from Wilmette, Illinois explain. "This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick."

Official Trailer of Will Smith's 'Seven Pounds' Comes Out

"Seven Pounds" has had its official trailer uncovered. Though the opening suggests that it is similar to the earlier released trailer, the new promotional video continues by showing edited footage. Straight after the company credits, the video presents Ben Thomas' younger brother pointing out his disappointment on Thomas' attitude towards him. The scene then moves on with Thomas sitting on a bed looking into a file, followed by a woman reading a letter with Thomas' voice-over explaining what the woman should do to get his house.

Thinking that he has ruined his life in 7 seconds, a suicidal IRS agent, Ben Thomas, tries to redeem himself by changing the lives of seven strangers. But, what he doesn't expect is that his life will also be forever changed by what he is attempting to do as he falls in love with one of the people he chooses to help. Starring Will Smith, Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, Michael Ealy and many others, the Columbia Pictures flick teams up once again Smith with his "The Pursuit of Happyness" director Gabriele Muccino. Passing down her knife obsession to the boy, she proudly admitted to have shared the same obsession with her late mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand.

"My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12," Jolie recalled her memory, adding "And I've already bought Maddox some." On buying the young boy the stuff, she ensured the knives aren't sharp edged so they won't be dangerous and that she has given him lesson about violence. November, the Month for 'Star Trek' First Trailer

Words are, the first full length trailer of the forthcoming "Star Trek" movie can be expected to come out sometime in November. Sparking the speculation, TrekMovie claimed that this trailer will present real footage from the J.J. Abrams' film and won't be a mere teaser. It is also hoped to display the Enterprise exterior and the Enterprise bridge. In addition, the editing part of the trailer allegedly is still underway.

Though TrekMovie's source insisted that the theatrical trailer will be coming out on the particular month, it is still unclear to which movie, the trailer will be attached. Observing on the up-and-coming Paramount/DreamWorks films, the publication speculated that the promotional video may fall into the big screen with animated sequel "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" on November 7 or with musical drama "The Soloist" on November 21.

The representative broke the names of the babies to US Weekly, yet provided no further information about where the names are derived from.

Issuing a "confirmation under the gun" in early March this year about her pregnancy after several news media mocked her curvier figure, Lisa wouldn't confirm nor deny the mounting rumors that she was pregnant with twins. It was her mother Priscilla Presley who outed during an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in August that Lisa was pregnant with twins.

Rapper M.I.A. Announces First Pregnancy

Ending speculation of her supposed retirement from music industry with a performance at the Diesel xXx Rock + Roll Circus in Brooklyn Saturday night, October 11, M.I.A. set tongue wagging when she obviously sported a huge baby bump and confirmed to Pitchfork Media earlier in the evening that she's pregnant with her first child. "I'm creating a baby," so she told Pitchfork's Jessica Suarez in an interview prior to her performance at the event.

"When I found out I was pregnant and 'Paper Planes' was in the iTunes top 10 it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window. And that's the lesson ... you can't make plans, and you can't say shit," the singer continued saying. However, M.I.A. didn't disclose on the baby's sex and her due date.
