Sylvain White Remains "Static"

Going out of radar after being reported to have Guy Ritchie attached as director back in July 2006, a surprising tidbit has come to the surface concerning the development of futuristic thriller "Static."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the helming duties have been entrusted to "Stomp the Yard" director Sylvain White instead, who will carry out the job for Columbia Pictures and Original Films. The assignment thereby marks White's collaboration with Sony after "Yard", which has grossed more than $61 million domestically.

Take That, Among Acts Tributing Princess Diana

In memory of the late Princess Diana, her sons William and Harry have both penned several names to perform in a concert. "We want it to represent exactly what our mother would have wanted. A church service wasn't enough. We wanted this big concert full of energy, fun and happiness. It has to be the best birthday present she ever had," William said.

Newly reunited band Take That is among lots to be asked personally by the princes. Mark Owen said in reply, "Princess Diana was such an amazing woman. I think it's lovely the princes want to do something to remember her."

Warner Bros. Forging "Metal Men"

It's just one day ago we learned about Warner Bros. Pictures developing "Rex Libris" based on the James Turner comic book series and now, the company is speedily adding one more of the kind to the list.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the company is on the move to make "Metal Men", which will be an adaptation of the DC Comics characters created by writer Robert Kanigher, pencilled by Ross Andru, and inked by Mike Esposito. First appeared in 1962, they were presented as six advanced artificially intelligent robots invented by brilliant scientist Dr. William "Will" Magnus.

Grant Morrison Enters "Area 51"

Finally gearing up to bring videogame experience to the big screen, Paramount Pictures has successfully had comic book author Grant Morrison onboard to pen "Area 51", the company's film adaptation of Midway Games' hit videogame franchise of the same name.

Morrison, known widely for his three-volume work of "The Invisibles", will take the seat initially occupied by Dean Georgaris who wrote an earlier draft to the project. Rights to make the movie actually was obtained by Paramount from Midway four years ago.

A Merry "Christmas" for Fox Searchlight

Setting up a holiday flick at its pit, Fox Searchlight Pictures is in progress to bring up a comedy entitled "The Rosenbergs Save Christmas" to the big screen, Variety has learned.

Written by Elisa Bell and Jeff Kline, the project concerns a newly engaged couple from different religious backgrounds who find their mothers' personalities collide when the man's family is forced to host Christmas. No name attached to direct yet, but it is said that Fox Searchlight is developing the movie as a potential starring vehicle for Goldie Hawn.

Usher is acting gentle when it comes to his fiancee's pregnancy. The R&B singer's fiancee, Tameka Foster is pregnant, it has been reported and he is about to claim it as his own despite the fact that it is not yet known who the father really is.

Foster, a stylist to the star, already has three children. She recently divorced her first husband Ryan Glover and is allegedly four months pregnant with his child. Now that the pregnancy has come to the surface, "Usher is about to come out pretty soon about the baby and will claim it as his own," said a source.

Second Tour Cancellation from The View

Another cancellation as a result of visa problem has occurred in The View's tour. The indie rock band from Scotland cannot proceed with their scheduled performances in US that initially were slated on April 30 in Cambridge, MA up to May 15 in Portland, OR.

The tour that actually is conducted in support of debut album "Hats off to the Busker", will call 10 dates off. They have previously cancelled this tour in February and reschedule it for this month.

Picking up a handful of names to fill in the cast of "Pathology", filmmakers of the flick have smoothly submitted Milo Ventimiglia, Lauren Lee Smith, Johnny Whitworth, and Alyssa Milano into the list, Variety has reported.

A production of Lakeshore Entertainment, the crime thriller follows a group of medical students as they hatch a scheme to see who can commit the perfect crime, one that even a fellow pathologist couldn't unravel. Filming is due to begin early May this year in Los Angeles with commercials director Mark Scholermann helming from script by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

For the first time in 8 years, Ratt and Poison will hit the road together again. The itinerary is part of their summer tour that begins June 13 at Bi Lo Center, Greenville, S.C. and ends August 19 at Coors Amphitheatre, Denver.

Troy Blakely of the Agency of Performing Arts said that there will be about 50 to 60 dates within the schedule where 30 to 35 of them are comprised of various festivals, fairs and indoor shows. Among the confirmed ones are gigs at Birmingham, Ala.'s City Stages on June 16, Bay City, Mich.'s Bay City River Roar on June 22, Pryor, Okla.'s Rocklahoma on July 13 and Sturgis, S.D.'s Buffalo Chip on August 5.

Scary Spice Gave Birth to a Baby Girl

It remains mystery on who's her baby's father. Is it Eddie Murphy or someone else, no one knows. Not withstanding with the heavy speculation, Melanie Brown gave birth to the infant, a baby girl, Tuesday morning April 3rd at 12:11 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica.

A rep for the former Spice Girl confirmed in a statement, saying "The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. Mother and baby are now resting. No name has been decided on as yet and she is purely known as Baby Brown."
