98 Boys Reunite for Friend Election

September 03, 2005 04:19:53 GMT

It's been so long that 98 Degrees, consisting of members Justin Jeffre, Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, and Jeff Timmons, do not make a public appearance. Yet, all of them will on Saturday afternoon reunite to attend a campaign function for Jeffre, one of seven candidates in the nonpartisan Sept. 13 mayoral primary that will determine the two candidates for a November run-off.

Jeffre, who runs for Cincinnati mayor, is afraid that he hasn't been taken seriously despite his active campaign for the seat. Thus he asks his band mates to perform their song, "Invisible Man," at the rally, "dedicated to some local media outlets that ignored me," so he said to the Associated Press. On that occasion, which for sure isn't a concert, 98 Degrees is set to appear at a nightclub where admission will be a donation of at least $10 towards Jeffre's campaign.

September 03, 2005 02:37:16 GMT

If Nicolas Cage willingly spends his $1 million to relief efforts residents of New Orleans affected by the Hurricane Katrina, Dave Matthews Band has their own way to show the sufferers they do care. The music band is about to hold a Sept. 12 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with all profits to go to charities supporting the storm victims.

The band added the benefit show to its sold-out Sept. 9-11 stint at the amphitheater, yet it hasn't been decided which charities will benefit from the show. "The amount of generosity from around the country I'm sure is staggering right now from people just giving what they can. We're just getting in line behind those people, getting in line a long way behind the Red Cross or National Guard, but we all have to do a little bit," so said the band to The Associated Press.

21 picture
The MGM casino-set thriller "21" will soon be released as Shawn Levy is in talks to direct after Brett Ratner turned the chance down to direct the 20th Century Fox's "X-Men 3." The story line of "21" revolves around a group of young men who become experts in the art of card counting, which actually is based on Ben Mezrich's best-selling nonfiction tome "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions."

Well, it seems that it may be a good reference for moviegoers. Just enjoy the film then.
