One more American Idol graduate has parted ways with Arista/ J Records. of season two decided to switch label to Simon Fuller's 19 Management in 2007, but of fifth season takes a bolder move by reportedly, taking independence in releasing his next album.

Reports indicated that Hicks is dropped by the label. In a short statement, J Records publicist Liz Morentin said, "Taylor is going to record on his own for the next album." No further details have been released regarding the split.

The gray-haired American Idol has found the love of his life. , the winner of the fifth season of American Idol, has reportedly dating Caroline Lyders, the morning co-anchor for the weekday edition of Milwaukee's ABC affiliate WISN "12 News This Morning."

Hicks and Lyders were photographed last week on a Hawaii beach before then caught canoodling on the beach recently. Though so neither of them confirm they are dating.

Under the deal, revealed Tuesday August 29th in documents filed in federal court in Hicks' hometown of Birmingham, it is mentioned that the singer will gain possession of the master recordings of the related songs, "The Fall," "Son of a Carpenter," and "In Your Time."

Being famous has its ups and downs. is facing the bad one right now. The American Idol winner has, earlier this week, filed a lawsuit against William Smith and his production companies, William Smith Productions and Baldwin Entertainment, for more than $75,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.

What prompted the pop singer to take the legal step actually is an email his lawyer Michael J. Douglas received from Smith. In the July 24th email, the Nashville-based producer stating that he planned to release a song on iTunes that Hicks had laid down in 1997 called "The Fall". In fact, Hicks claimed that Smith doesn't have rights to the music.

Soon after his winning, it was announced Wednesday May 31st, 2006 that the newly crowned American Idol has signed a record deal with music mogul Clive Davis in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by Simon Fuller.

The two songs Taylor has recorded, "Do I Make You Proud," which he performed in the show's finale, and a soulful cover of the The Doobie Brothers classic "Takin' It to the Streets", will be released in stores and through digital outlets on June 13.
