Pictures threw a world premiere event for the romantic drama in Ziegfeld Theatre. Before the special screening took place at 7:00 P.M., a number of celebrities were spotted posing for the press at the red carpet.
Among those present were the film's leading actors, Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams. Bana was seen arriving along with his wife Rebecca Gleeson. Joining them were Ron Livingston who plays Gomez, Jane McLean who portrays Charisse, and the young cast members, Hailey McCann, Tatum McCann and Brooklynn Proulx.

Fresh Images From Robert Downey Jr.-Starrer 'Sherlock Holmes'

Most of the photos take their focus on the two main characters, Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock and Jude Law's Dr. Watson, while a couple of them tag along Rachel McAdams' Irene Adler and Mark Strong's villainous Lord Blackwood.
The freshly-released pictures tease on some of the actions to be seen as well as the drama to be expected. In one of the images, Sherlock is captured practicing his bartitsu skills in fighting two baddies who are blocking his way through the catacombs of London's St. Paul's Cathedral. In another one, he and Adler flee for their lives "during a harrowing sequence inside a pig slaughterhouse."

In the nearly four minutes video which also includes on-set footage, each of the three actors takes turn in revealing what the movie is all about.
The interview starts with a question whether Downey Jr., McAdams and Law are a fan of the character before going on to do this movie. While Downey Jr. told ET's Thea Andrews he believes everyone will be Sherlock Holmes fans if they have read the books, Law revealed that he hasn't got the chance to read the book until he was about 17 years old, and McAdams confessed that she has just come to know Holmes from the movie's script.
