October 29, 2009 11:10:09Norah Jones is dressed up as a pirate in a music video supporting her new single "Chasing Pirates". She sails through a downtown cityscape in a quest to find the ocean, but instead of using ship, she goes floating on a brownstone building.
The video is directed by Rich Lee, the same man who did visual effects for "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie series. It was filmed in Norah's hometown, New York City and is premiered on VH1.

A follow-up to Jones' second album "Not Too Late", "The Fall" is plotted to be made available for purchase across United States on November 17. This record will witness her "experimenting with different sounds and a new set of collaborators, including Jacquire King, a noted producer and engineer who has worked with Kings of Leon, Tom Waits and Modest Mouse among others."

Telling the magazine she can't remember the last time she had a manicure or a facial, the Oscar-winning actress indeed lands the No. 1 spot on the list.
Joining her on the list among others are teen sensation Miley Cyrus and "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens, who both have been criticized for their racy pictures. New celebrity-mothers Isla Fisher, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry are all included in the list as well, making it their 12th time to be listed among People's Most Beautiful.

Grammy winning songwriter Jesse Harris has compiled a list of soundtracks that will be performed by artists like Norah Jones, Cat Power, Bright Eyes, Black Keys, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.
The record that earmarks all of the music in support of Ethan Hawke-directed movie "The Hottest State" will arrive August 7 via Hickory Records.

On March 6, 2007, three days before the 10th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.'s death, Bad Boy Records released the compilation of his best pieces, "Greatest Hits". One week later, it debuted at #1 on US Billboard 200 chart with 99,000 copies sold. This is his third No.1 peak since "Life After Death" (1997) and "Born Again" (1999).
Indie rock band Arcade Fire that just entered the chart this week soars to #2 with the album "Neon Bible" at 92,000 copies. The chart topper last week, DAUGHTRY with self-titled album sold only 82,000 copies and therefore falls to #3. Akon's "Konvicted" then is down to No. 4 with total sales of 76,000.

Climbing slowly but steady in the Billboard 200 chart is DAUGHTRY's self-titled debut album at 90,000. Closing the total number of copies sold at two million, this is the band's second non-consecutive #1 position and therefore is Soundscan's fastest selling debut album in rock genre.
The two times former frontrunner Norah Jones' "Not Too Late" is down to #2 with a total of 74,000, while Akon's "Konvicted" rises to 73,000 and claims #3 post. Last week's #3 tenant Fall Out Boy through the album "Infinity on High" falls to #4 at 67,000.

Norah Jones isn't easy to be beaten. The jazz pianist has her album "Not Too Late" debuts at No. 1 spot on the Billboard album charts for a third, non-consecutive week, moving 100,000 in the week ended Sunday Feb 25th. With that attainment, the set thus becoming the first album to score three weeks at No. 1 since the "Now 22" compilation last summer.
Next on the chart is DAUGHTRY's self titled debut album which climbs all the way from No. 9 to No. 2, with sales of 84,000 copies. Following in at No. 3 is Fall Out Boy's "Infinity on High", jumps two places from No. 5, taking in another 79,000 copies. The 11th installment of the popular "Kidz Bop," featuring covers of Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" and Beyonce Knowles' "Irreplaceable" by children, in the meantime, bows at #4 with 75,000.

Norah Jones reclaims her position on the Billboard Hot 200. The singer returns to the top spot of the US album charts Wednesday Feb 21st, with her album "Not Too Late" sold another 211,000 copies for the week ended Sunday Feb 18th. "Not Too Late" is Jones' third album, a follow up to her second LP, "Feels Like Home" which was released in 2004 to high sales.
Following close behind at the 2nd spot on the chart is the late Gerald Levert's posthumous release "In My Songs" moves 165,000 copies. The "Grammy Nominees 2007" compilation, in the meantime, rises four places to No. 3 with 131,000 copies, while Corinne Bailey Rae's self-titled debut bounces five places to No. 4 with 120,000. Fall Out Boy's "Infinity on High", who was last week's chart topper, falls to No. 5 with 119,000.

The new LP of Fall Out Boy, titled "Infinity on High", brings the pop/rock band to score the No. 1 spot on the Billboard's albums chart in the week ended Wednesday Feb 14th. The set, which is released via Island Records, successfully sold 260,000 copies in the week ended February 11, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Last week's chart-topper Norah Jones' "Not Too Late" slips one to 2nd spot, taking in another 236,000 copies. Rock band DAUGHTRY's self-titled debut holds at No. 3 for a third week selling 76,000 copies. Rounding out the Top 5 is Akon's "Konvicted" which rises two to No. 4 with 65,000, and Ashley Tisdale's solo debut, "Headstrong" at No. 5 sold 64,000 copies.

Norah Jones is still a favorite. The jazz singer/pianist has her first album in three years "Not Too Late" opened at No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts Wednesday Feb 7th, sold 405,000 copies in its first week on the charts. Jones' last album, "Feels Like Home," debuted at No. 1 in February 2004 with 1.02 million copies; her 2002 debut, "Come Away With Me" reached the top the following year.
Behind her on the 2nd spot is Katharine McPhee's self-titled debut album, which sold 116,000 copies. Holding on to No. 3 is DAUGHTRY's "DAUGHTRY" sold 77,000 copies. Celtic Woman's "A New Journey" debuts at No. 4, taking in 71,000 units, ahead of Pretty Ricky's "Late Night Special" at No. 5 with another 62,000 copies.
Norah Jones Announces Spring North American Tour Dates

Has just had her third studio album released on January 30th, 2007, it is obviously "Not Too Late" for Norah Jones to embark on a tour to support the set.
The singer has announced the dates for her spring North American tour, beginning on April 13 in Wallingford, CT and ended up May 12 in Montreal. In between the dates, Jones will play April 28 at Jazz Fest in New Orleans.

The likes of Rod Stewart, Norah Jones and Brad Paisley are among the headliners for this year's New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The threesome will join other performers, including Irma Thomas, Dr. John and Allen Toussaint just to name a few.
The festival, spanning two weekends in April and May, will feature hundreds of the city's most beloved musicians and a host of national headliners at the New Orleans Fair Grounds, a horse-racing track that flooded and was seriously damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

It is "not too late" for Norah Jones to release her new LP next year. The Grammy-winning singer has slated her third album, entitled "Not Too Late," to hit the US stores on January 30th, 2007.
A follow up to her 2004 "Feels Like Home", Jones wrote or co-wrote all 13 new songs on the album, which is a first for her. The set's first single will be "Thinkin' About You," which arrives at radio next week and impacts the Triple A format on December 4.

Details on the new movie remain secret, though a source claimed that the story wouldn't revolve around the Hurricane Katrina disaster in the U.S. as reported earlier. It also won't be shot in New York doubling as New Orleans.

Jean & Jones Do a Charity Track

Titled "Any Other Day" the single includes the lines: "I see the airplane. I hear the engine on the boat. But you all can't see me waving the flag. Somebody please wave the flag."
Jones says "My heart is filled with tears for the victims and all those who have lost loved ones in Hurricane Katrina and Rita. No one can challenge mother nature. All we can do now is band together the best we can as one family and help everyone get back on their feet."

June 17, 2005 10:06:38Amazon.com Inc. is in preparation to celebrate its 10th anniversary next month. One of their projects is running a concert, in which it'll feature Norah Jones and Bob Dylan. The concert is slated to stream live on the Internet retailer's home page the evening of July 16.
Bill Maher is the one booked to host the concert, held at Benaroya Hall. Tickets will not be sold to the general public, whereas employees of Amazon Seattle-area will be invited to attend. To make the event even more interesting, there will also be additional musical performances, readings by authors and behind-the-scenes footage from one of Amazon's hottest-selling DVDs which is "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King."
Norah Jones Working on Her Next Project
May 14, 2005 11:05:42A message posted on Norah Jones's website, norahjones.com, mentioned the Grammy-winning singer has begun working on her next project. The Handsome Band member Lee Alexander, to strengthen, posts a statement saying that Jones has been "writing her butt off."
Jones herself claimed writing a song does not come easily and thus when she's gotten few she will really willingly work on those. In fact, the singer said "I really prefer the most simple song, the better. Those are my favorite songs. I mean, there's certainly all kinds of great songs. But what I feel really close to and what I feel like I could do the best -- if I ever get my act together and get better at it -- is simple stuff."
