yet they still felt that there was something missing in their music, so they recruited an acquaintance named Frank Anthony Iero (born on October 31, 1981 in Belleville, New Jersey) as the band's rhythm guitarist to enrich the sound they produced.
Eleven tracks they had recorded were compiled in “I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love,” which touched the market on July 23, 2002. Contained the introspective lyrics written by Gerard, this first effort scored quite well as it managed to draw a number of devoted fans, particularly through the single entitled “Vampires Will Never Hurt You.” Aside from this fair result, the album failed to enter any Billboard music charts and did not make a desirable buzz the band had aimed for, leading to their disappointment with the label. “Eyeball couldn't reach the amount of people that we really wanted to reach,” Frank commented. “We toured a lot without the record being really anywhere.” Fortunately, they did not have to wait long enough to find a suitable record company as Reprise Records, a division of Warner Music Group, showed an intention to sign them which they gladly accepted.

their second piece of work, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge,” on June 8, 2004. Produced by Howard Benson, the album was an impressive leap for the band, soaring to the 28th rank of The Billboard 200. Amazingly sold over one million records worldwide, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” ultimately was certified Gold in U.S. Amid this glory, drummer Matt Pelissier suddenly was replaced in late of the year with Bob Bryar (born on December 31, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois), a drum tech worked for The Used whom the personnel met while they were on tour with this pop punk alternative rock band. Although both parties refused to give any explanation concerning this matter, there was a rumor that Matt could not cooperate well with the other members which reached its peak to his departure from the band.
In the meantime, two of the album's tracks entitled “I'm Not Okay (I Promise)” and “Helena” secured the 4th and 11th position on Billboard Modern Rock Chart while also made their way to penetrate the top 20 of U.K. singles chart.
