Meanwhile Amy Winehouse stays powerful despite her personal ordeal, pocketing 4 nominations, two in the music field and others in the non-music category.
The Monkeys are vying for the categories Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album, Best Track, Best Video and Best Video Album Artwork, while lead singer Alex Turner is running solo for Best Dressed award. On the other side, Winehouse has been nominated for Villain of the Year alongside U.S. president George W. Bush, British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown and Razorlight's frontman Johnny Borrell.
My Chemical Romance Switch Back to Punk Rock in New Album
January 24, 2008 12:01:54After the theatrical 'The Black Parade', My Chemical Romance said that they will be back to their old sound because they missed "being a rock band". The band are set to release a new album this year and revealed that they have it channeled towards "punk rock" direction.
In an interview with NME.com, frontman Gerard Way said that the album which would be their fourth, will be "stripped down" but won't rule out "crazy ideas on the next albums or do something even crazier". The band had played a new material since November last year but won't give it a name yet for fear that "kids get pissed off" when the title is eventually changed.
Rihanna Teams Up with H&M for Its Fashion Against AIDS Collection

The Barbadian songbird who made her catwalk debut back on September 27, strutted her stuff down the catwalk for the Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2008 collection presented in Milan, Italy, is partnering with H&M and Designers Against AIDS (DAA) for the so-called "Fashion Against AIDS."
Some other musicians who offer their design services for free including Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance, Timbaland, Ziggy Marley, and Jade Jagger.
My Chemical Romance Killed The Black Parade?
December 27, 2007 01:12:28A 'flatline' has been put on the official website of My Chemical Romance's alter ego band, The Black Parade, indicating that MCR members have put the side project to an end.
The Black Parade was a fictional group that MCR created to support the album under the same name that was released in October 26. TheBlackParade.com now puts a flatline graphic that is commonly used as medical term to indicate death and the phrase BPM 00.
My Chemical Romance's Guitarist Taking Leave From Tour
November 16, 2007 12:11:04After bassist Mikey Way took his break from My Chemical Romance earlier this year, it's guitarist Frank Iero's turn to take his. Iero is forced to miss the band's U.K. tour that will soon end on Saturday, November 17, due to a family illness.
The band that is comprised of five personnel is now down to 3 original members since drummer Bob Bryar also took a rest after a wrist injury earlier this year. Commenting on this vocalist Gerard Way said, "We've been through a lot of stuff on this record, dealt with life situations and stuff. Ultimately it's gonna be a little different and look a little different, but we're ready for this."
Names Nominated for 2007 Kerrang! Awards

U.S. act My Chemical Romance are leading the nominations of 2007 Kerrang! Awards with four nods. The band will go head to head with British metal group Enter Shikari at top nominations including Best Single and Best Album.
MCR's 'Welcome to the Black Parade' will battle in the Best Single category with Shikari's 'Sorry, You're Not a Winner'. Both are also tied against each other for Best Album for 'The Black Parade' and 'Take to the Skies' respectively.

Although Rihanna's "Umbrella" has descended U.S. chart in the tenth week, the Jay-Z featuring hit still has its say in U.K. Singles chart. The song enters its tenth week at #1, making itself the longest running Number One single in ten years at the top of the U.K. chart.
With such record, Rihanna joins Whitney Houston and Bryan Adams in the list of singers with #1 hit that stays more than nine weeks. Houston's "I Will Always Love You" remained seated at the top post for ten weeks in 1992 while Adam's "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" claimed 16 weeks victory one year prior.

With a chart-topping album coming out few months before 2007 MuchMusic Awards, Avril Lavigne became an expected winner in the event. Her winning of two categories however, is toned down with a bigger number from Billy Talent.
The rock band snatched three trophies mainly for their video "Fallen Leaves". Both Best Video and MuchLOUD Best Rock Video were taken home along with obviously, people choice's of Favorite Canadian Group.

Responding to Marilyn Manson's "copycat" accuse, My Chemical Romance took it pretty easy. The band laughed off the fact that the accusation comes from a Marilyn Manson.
Frontman Gerard Way told Rock Sound magazine, "If Elvis Costello said we sucked we would think about it a bit but usually it is comments from someone with a new record to promote so the remarks ring hollow." He then added, "We still haven't found someone that has knocked us down that we need to take seriously."
Muse Announced Supporting Acts for Wembley Gigs

Following the two sold out shows at Wembley Stadium, Muse has arranged a unique line-up to support their act. Not only coming from rock genre, Muse selected their favorite musicians such as Mexican acoustic duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela and rapper The Streets.
Muse tapped Mike Skinner aka The Streets to be the main support for their first gig on June 16 while having Rodrigo Y Gabriela as the other supporting act. The next day will see Muse performing with My Chemical Romance and Scottish band Biffy Clyro. DJ Zane Lowe is also on the bill to guide the mega gigs.

Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution Tour Is On

Linkin Park that gain the partnership of My Chemical Romance to headline 2007 Projekt Revolution Tour is set to launch the tour on July 25 in a city waiting to be announced later this month. The tour will crisscross North America, visit Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Tampa, Camden and many more before winding down on September 3 in Englewood, Colo.
Supporting acts expected in the main stage are Taking Back Sunday, H.I.M., Placebo and Julien-K. Meanwhile, the smaller Revolution Stage will be occupied by Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, The Bled, Styles of Beyond and Madina Lake. Linkin Park as the headliner is conducting this tour to promote new album "Minutes to Midnight" which is due May 15.
My Chemical Romance Cancelled Dates for Crew

My Chemical Romance and its supporting act Muse had to come to halt after several of their tour crew went sick over food poisoning. A couple of dates within the North American trek came to an effect and had to be cancelled.
The musicians and crew that were supporting the bands began vomiting and had to be rushed to the hospitals on April 28. The next day's show in State College, PA immediately was cancelled leaving the Colombus, OH gig on May 1 doubtful. In the end the Colombus night was postponed instead of cancelled to May 2. For that, Pittsburgh, PA had to give up its slot.

While still in full speed mode to promote 2006's "The Black Parade", My Chemical Romance is coming to a momentary halt for the sake of bassist Mikey Way. The brother of vocalist Gerard Way is still enjoying his honeymoon with newly wedded wife Alicia Simmons.
Posted in the band's official website is: "The band has decided to give he and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all of the things a newlywed couple should do". While this decision is made, the band is actually in debt to complete the Black Parade Tour with supporting act Muse. The replacement for Mikey in the tour that runs through May 22 is not yet announced.

After announcing the first leg of tour that roams in United States, My Chemical Romance is ready for not only second leg but also third. The tour, which is named "The Black Parade World Tour", is held in support of the band's third album "The Black Parade" (2006).
The second leg will hit the stadiums and stages in Europe region. In this quarter, the band will kick off from Plymouth, UK on March 20 and disembark in Copenhagen, Denmark on April 10. Some stops in between include Dublin-Ireland, Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg -Germany, Paris- France, and Malmo-Sweden.

The Sheffield-based band, Arctic Monkeys, has received four nominations for this year's NME Awards. The four-piece group is in the running for the categories of Best British Band, Live Band, Album and Music DVD.
This isn't the first time that the band scores numbers of nominations in the awards show, last year they won three awards, including the coveted Best British Group accolade.

It really is girl power that works within these recent weeks. One typical case is that of Beyonce Knowles. The singer has her single "Irreplaceable" leads the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart Thursday January 18th. This marks the song's seventh consecutive week on that No. 1 spot, ties with Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack" as the longest running No. 1 among the songs that moved into first place in 2006.
Next we have Akon's "I Wanna Love You" and Stacy Ferguson's "Fergalicious" which both remain at 2nd and 3rd spots respectively. Meanwhile, Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" climbs one to No. 4, switching places with Akon's "Smack That" featuring Eminem which secures the 5th spot. Jim Jones' "We Fly High" jumps two to No. 6, followed right after by The Fray's "How To Save a Life" at No. 7.

American rock band My Chemical Romance is about to embark on a tour to support their gold-certified album, "The Black Parade." The U.S. arena tour will kick off in Manchester, NH at the Verizon Wireless Arena on February 22, 2007.
Has been tapped to support My Chemical Romance on the tour is Rise Against, which is slated to be the opening act on all of the dates. Meanwhile, rock band Muse has also been added to the headliners list.

The Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" soundtrack, which features music from the show's star Miley Cyrus, remains firmly at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart for the second week in a row, selling 203,000 copies in the United States in the week ended Wednesday Nov 8th, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Veteran pop vocalist Barry Manilow's "The Greatest Songs of the Sixties" follows at 2nd spot with 202,000 copies. Though fails to score his second No. 1 of the year, the singer is still the only artist this year to have two albums in the top two chart positions with his previous effort "The Greatest Songs of the Fifties" took the top spot in February with 156,000 copies.

This is a new record on the Billboard Hot 200 after another. The US pop album charts sees the success of Miley Cyrus' "Hannah Montana" to climb at No. 1 this week. The album, which is the soundtrack to hit Disney Channel series of the same name, sold more than 280,000 copies in the week ended October 29, marking the biggest start for a soundtrack since November 2005, when rapper 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" bowed with 317,000 units.
On top of that, "Hannah Montana" has also become Disney's fourth top 10 debut this year, behind "Cars," "The Cheetah Girls 2" and the immensely popular "High School Musical," which is the only album to sell more than 3 million copies so far in 2006. Elsewhere, New Jersey rock band My Chemical Romance is at 2nd position on the album charts with "The Black Parade" sold 240,000 copies. John Legend's sophomore album "Once Again" starts at No. 3 with 231,000.

A crowd of some 10,000 packed the Palacio de los Deportes Thursday night Oct 19th for the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. Those handful people saw the winning of successful Mexican singer and songwriter Julieta Venegas who took home the Best Performer award.
The Grammy winning singer was actually nominated for five other categories, including Best Video, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year among others. Unfortunately she only won one. Aside, Colombian rock singer-songwriter Juanes won the Best Artist-Central award. Also there was the likes of Robbie Williams who nabbed the Best Pop International award, and My Chemical Romance who was handed the Best Rock International award.
Drummer's Illness Forced My Chemical Romance to Cancel Shows

It is sad to say that drummer's illness has forced My Chemical Romance to cancel two live shows over the weekend. The rock band has to unfortunately postpone shows scheduled in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and Syracuse, New York, on Sunday, after drummer Bob Bryar was hospitalized because of complications from an injury he sustained last month while filming a music video.
Bryar was admitted to hospital shortly after the group's VMAs performance late on Thursday night. He was kept in hospital over the weekend for tests and further treatment. "We got some really bad news in the past 48 hours. As a result of complications with a previous injury, Bob ended up in the hospital with a staph infection," a statement posted by the band on its Web site read.
My Chemical Romance Set to Perform at 2006 MTV VMA Preshow

MTV announced Monday August 28th that My Chemical Romance and Stacy Ferguson of the Black Eyed Peas will perform during the "2006 MTV Video Music Awards" pre-show "Red Carpet On The Rock" on Thursday, August 31st at 6:30pm-8:00 pm.
It is reported further that Fergie will open "Red Carpet on the Rock" with a performance of her No. 1 single "London Bridge" from her upcoming album "The Dutchess", in stores September 19th later this year.
The 2006 Kerrang! Awards Big Winners

Congratulation for Welsh band Lostprophets for they are the big winners at the 13th annual Kerrang! Awards, held August 24th in London. The music act won two awards all at once, Best Album for "Liberation Transmission" and Best British Band as well.
Muse, who nabbed five nominations, in the meantime only won one, which was for Best Live Band. For the Best International Newcomer category, the award went to Aiden while the Best British Newcomer was Bring Me The Horizon. Bullet for My Valentine's "Tears Don't Fall" was chosen as Best Single, and Placebo was the Classic Songwriter.

It is all done for alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. The music act is said to have finished working on their next album, the follow-up to the 2004's "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge," which has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"We all have records that shaped our childhood and teen years," says bassist Mikey Way. "When you hear a song, it shoots you back to a moment in time. We want this album to do that for people. We want the entire world to be moved."
