November 10, 2008 01:11:27Lifetime's upcoming project is called "Nora Roberts' Northern Lights". The network's original movie will star the Grammy-Award winner LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian from "Ugly Betty", and Rosanna Arquette from "Desperately Seeking Susan".
Rimes will play as Meg Galligan, an independent and feisty bush pilot with her own demons. She becomes a love interest of Cibrian's character, Nate Burns, a former Baltimore policeman who starts a new life as a chief of police in Lunacy, Alaska. Meanwhile, Arquette will play as Rimes' mother, Charlene. The film is executive produced by Peter Guber and Stephanie Germain.

Rimes actually turned 26 years old on August 28, whereas the wedding anniversary should be in February next year. But the couple decided to celebrate early to take advantage of the warm weather, People reports. Inviting 30 of their closest friends to attend the celebration, Rimes said she and Sheremet aimed the festivity to remember how blessed they are and how excited they "still are about each other" after a seven-year marriage.

For what could have been branded the most consistent musician, LeAnn Rimes is back promoting her new album with first single "Nothin' Better to Do" already ruling CMT Top Twenty Countdown. The song, along with her other materials from the new album will debut at CMA Music Festival on June 6 in Nashville.
Off all her previous albums, Rimes decides to get 'personal' on the new one. Aptly titled, "Family" is an album with all tracks getting either her full writing or part of writing. The first single for example was co-written with her husband Dean Sheremet and Darrell Brown. She said, "We wrote this song as if from my alter ego, a girl who never got out of that small town. Now, all that's left to do is cause a little trouble and have some fun!"

A new row of names has been added to be the presenters of the 2007 CMT's Music Awards. They are Kellie Pickler, Barbara Mandrell, Jason Aldean, Josh Turner, LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift and former professional wrestler Steve Austin.
The event that will take place in Nashville on April 16 will allow fans to choose "Flatt Out Fan Favorite" apart from voting the winners for the awards. This newly added program is based on Rascal Flatts song that will also be performed on the show.

It's been 11 years and now the country music star is back. Reba McEntire is back on track. The singer will mark her comeback to the music scene with a performance at the 2007 CMA Music festival in June later this year.
Joining McEntire will be such top country acts, as Carrie Underwood, The Wreckers, Martina McBride and Sugarland. As of this year, the CMA Music festival will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on June 7-10. Proceeds will benefit the Keep the Music Playing campaign to promote music education in local schools.

Country singer LeAnn Rimes has been forced to cancel three concerts this week as she is about to undergo surgery for a leg infection, her publicist, Diana Baron, said in a statement Monday July 10th. It is reported that she will need about three or four days to recover.
She suffered a "tear in the tissue" of one of her legs, Baron confirmed while adding "It's a minor surgery, but because of the infection it was urgent that she takes care of it right away".

Approvingly, the 22-year-old singer has learnt a lot from an injury to one of her vocal cords and an unspecified dental procedure, because of which she'd been ordered not to speak for two weeks and had to cancel her appearance at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn.

Rimes Absent From 'Nashville Star' Due to Illness
April 19, 2005 09:04:36Country music star LeAnn Rimes won't host the talent competition show "Nashville Star" for the second consecutive week because she is suffering from a broken blood vessel on one of her vocal chords. Doctors mention the injury as a result of a severe bout with viral bronchitis, and they hope the star has "a speedy recovery."
Rimes, who because of the injury has also canceled planned appearances in Texas and Arizona, indeed, hopes to be back in place for the April 26 "Nashville Star" season finale. While she's ailing, another popular country artist, Sara Evans, will fill in as host of the USA Networks series until Rimes gets well and strong enough to host the show.
