'The Informers' Goes to L.A. for Premiere
April 17, 2009 04:04:35Senator Entertainment's drama thriller "The Informers" has got a red carpet treatment on Thursday, April 16 for its Los Angeles premiere. Taking place at ArcLight Theater, the special screening event was attended by two of its prominent stars, Academy Award-nominated actor Mickey Rourke and award-winning actress Kim Basinger.
In addition to both of them, cast members, Austin Nichols, Jon Foster, Jessica Stroup, Lou Taylor Pucci and Rhys Ifans, as well as director Gregor Jordan were also present for the special occasion. On Monday, November 17, evening, the studio rolled down red blood carpet at the Mann Village and Bruin theaters in Westwood, California, to welcome stars and guests.
With every corner in the middle of Westwood Village flooded with enthusiastic fans, the film's leading stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, were spotted walking down the red carpet. Lending their star status to highlight the project, Billy Bob Thornton and Kim Basinger have both landed deals to take part in an ensemble drama coming from Senator Entertainment titled "The Informers", Variety has reported.
Based on short stories by Bret Easton Ellis, project, set over the course of a week in 1983, features seven storylines that intersect, involving movie execs, rock stars, a vampire and other morally challenged characters. Other cast members include Brandon Routh, Ashley Olsen, Jon Foster, Austin Nichols, and Lou Taylor Pucci.

Landing a seemingly promising acting stint, Kim Basinger has been confirmed to topline a thriller in the vein of "Deliverance" and "Dead Calm" entitled "While She Was Out", Production Weekly has revealed.
Here Basinger will portray a typical suburban housewife who has to rely on her own strength and a toolbox when getting stranded in a desolate forest with four murderous thugs. Filming is scheduled to begin in January next year with Scottish filmmaker Susan Montford at helm.

Not guilty or innocent, either one. That's the decision taken by L.A. County Superior Court Judge Maren E. Nelson on Wednesday, ending the long battle between former couple Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin over their 10-year-old daughter Ireland.
In the hearing, with neither parties attended, Oscar-winning actress Basinger pleaded innocent to 14 charges of violating child custody orders in her divorce case with Baldwin. "The charges are outrageous and my client is not guilty," the actress' attorney Neal Hersh told People. "She will be vindicated."

Kim Basinger must face court for allegedly disobeying a judge's orders about ex-husband Alec Baldwin's visitation time with their daughter, Ireland. Regarding the problem, Los Angeles judge Robert Schnider on Saturday (Sept 1), has ordered Kim to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on October 4.
Court papers, filed by Baldwin, also claim there was an occasion when the Oscar-winning actress failed to inform her ex-husband that 10-year-old Ireland was injured and required medical help.

A Steven Schachter direction, "The Mermaid Chair" revolves around Jessie Sullivan, a married woman who falls in love with a Benedictine monk, and the crisis and self-awakening it ignites. It will premiere on the women's cable network in September later this year.

Back then to the root of the battle, the couple has been involved in the on/off court feud since January last year, fighting for the custody battle over their 10-year-old daughter Ireland.
Baldwin got Basinger back into court last month claiming she violated a court-imposed custody order this summer. Moreover, the actor also accused Basinger of turning his daughter into a spy, claiming the girl called her mother too often when visiting him in order to turn in "reports" on his actions. Apparently, Baldwin has allegedly spent over $1 million fighting the case.

Monday Baldwin filed court papers against his former wife, claiming she "has a pathological need" to turn their daughter against him. Thus he asked for a psychological evaluation of Basinger. Baldwin who didn't attend the hearing was represented by his lawyer, Vicki Greene, who said "Ms. Basinger has so contaminated this child now that she doesn't even want to be with her father."
