August 19, 2008 03:08:11Singer Katharine McPhee has just premiered a music video to support her brand new single titled "I Know What Boys Are". The song is among comedy movie "The House Bunny" soundtracks and features backing vocals by Emma Stone and Kiely Williams, who also play in the film.
Together with other movie casts, such as Emma, Rumer Willis, and Anna Faris, Katharine who also co-stars in the movie, will drop by MTV's Total Request Live this Wednesday, August 20 to introduce the single and promote the film. The video starts with girls performance on a stage. Some scenes show a crowd of people watching a dance performance by the girls, while the rest mostly carries the movie plot to complete the mission of promoting the film to the public before hitting the theater on August 22.

The video mostly displays Katharine singing on a stage set in an indoor building with dark background and white lamps on its roof. At some point, the display changes from the look of Katharine to a display of cartoon barbies. The changes then take regular turns, giving audiences a sneak peek of movie plot. The movie will be released in the form of DVD, launched on September 9.

The runner-up of the fifth American Idol season has come aboard an independent suspense thriller "The Storyteller" in which she will be playing Tina, a writer's assistant investigating the truth behind her boss' muse and narrator of his stories. Talking to MTV about her yet unfulfilled dream, the "Over It" singer confessed that if she gets the chance to portray a particular music legend in a musical movie, she would love to depict the musician that is considered to be one of rock's greatest artists. Though admitting that she doesn't have a rocker voice, the Los Angeles native believes that she is capable of rendering Joplin. "I don't know if I would be the best choice for Janis Joplin just because I don't think I really have that kind of a voice," McPhee confessed. "But I see myself as more of a serious, dramatic person."

A joint production of Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison Productions, pic focuses on Farris' character, a Playboy bunny kicked out of the Playboy Mansion, who becomes the house mother to the lamest sorority on campus. The quintet's inclusion is learned to fill in the major roles of the sorority sisters, thereby solidifying the flick as the first female-driven comedy to come out of the production company.
