Blue Carpet Treatment for 'Monsters vs. Aliens' L.A. Premiere
March 23, 2009 10:03:04Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California has become the host of "Monsters vs. Aliens" Los Angeles premiere on Sunday morning, March 22. Celebrating the special screening event, DreamWorks Animation greeted the celebrities with a unique blue carpet and a man-high statue of B.O.B., one of the monsters in the movie.
Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland, Rainn Wilson, Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler were among the film's voice talents attending the premiere. Joining them on the blue carpet were producer Lisa Stewart and directors, Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon.

The FOX production was announced as Favorite TV Drama at the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards, beating down "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Grey's Anatomy". Laurie aka Dr. House meanwhile, triumphs over Charlie Sheen in "Two and a Half Men" and Patrick Dempsey in "Grey's".
Another notable winner is Ellen DeGeneres who via her daytime show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", won Favorite Talk Show Host. Receiving the award, Ellen said during the acceptance speech, "I wish I could share this with you. When it comes to money, Oprah Winfrey is the one with abundant. The chat show queen, who frequently listed on Forbes' Rich list, earns an estimated US$260 million a year from the famous "The Oprah Winfrey Show" for which she serves as host and supervising producer. With such amount of money, based on a list by TV Guide magazine, no doubt that she tops the list of the Highest-Paid Television Stars in the United States.
Placed just behind her at the 2nd spot is music producer Simon Cowell, who earns US$45 million for his role on the Fox network's smash hit talent show "American Idol" and his other TV projects. The 59th annual Emmy Awards won't be held until September 16th later this year, but the nominees are in already. "The Sopranos", "Ugly Betty", and "Grey's Anatomy" are among the series dominating the award nominees list announced Thursday July 19th.
ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" is nominated for the Drama Series award, running for the category with the likes of "Boston Legal", "Heroes", "House", and "The Sopranos". The hit dramedy series "Ugly Betty" is vying for the category of Comedy Series with "Entourage", "The Office", "30 Rock", and "Two and a Half Men" as the competitors.

The Television Critics Association (TCA) has on Tuesday June 5th announced numbers of nominees for this year annual award event. Among the programs vie for Program of the Year prize are "American Idol" (Fox), "Friday Night Lights" (NBC), "Heroes" (NBC), "Planet Earth" (Discovery), "The Wire" (HBO), and "When the Levees Broke" (HBO).
For Outstanding Achievement in Comedy category, NBC leads with two, mainly for its "30 Rock" and "The Office" to compete with HBO's "Entourage", Comedy Central's "The Daily Show", and ABC's "Ugly Betty". Looks like casting process for "The Night Watchman1" has gone to a quick pace indeed. Just couple of days ago picking up Chris Evans, the cop drama now has already had Hugh Laurie submitted into the cast lineup.
Though so, there is still no word yet on which role the "House M.D." star is set to play while Evans has confirmed that he will appear as a cop named Diskant. Other cast members, Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker, have already been billed to portray a Los Angeles police officer framed for murdering fellow cop and his former mentor also prosecutor, respectively.

Gathering together at Beverly Hills' Imperial Ballroom of le Meridian on Sunday, December 17, 2006, members of International Press Academy eagerly handed down the organization's honor of Satellite Awards, originally known as Golden Satellite Awards, to the year's outstanding artists, films, television shows, DVDs, and interactive media.
Martin Scorsese's mob saga "The Departed" led the event together with "Dreamgirls" as both collected four prizes each. The Warner Bros. release scored in categories of Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Screenplay - Adapted for William Monahan, Best Ensemble - Motion Picture, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Leonardo DiCaprio.

January 17, 2006 04:01:53The "Desperate Housewives" apparently isn't sound that bad at the 63rd annual Golden Globe Awards. At the bash thrown Monday January 16th, the ABC hit series took home its second consecutive Golden Globe trophy for Best Comedy Series.
In the meantime, ABC also won the Best Drama Series award for its "Lost." Geena Davis, in chain, took home the Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Drama award for "Commander In Chief" and Hugh Laurie won the Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama prize for "House."
