"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" has finally got its U.S. trailer outed. Premiered at Yahoo! Movies, the brand new sneak peek is less than two minutes in length, but does reel in some never-before-seen footage as well as more glimpses at Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law as mysterious stranger Tony.

Set to have its limited U.S. release on December 25, this fantasy drama centers on Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary traveling show, Imaginarium. Making deals with the devil long time ago which gives him immortality, he is cursed with a dark secret that jeopardizes his daughter's freedom. Desperate to protect his daughter from her impending fate, he must now find a man that will help him undo the mistakes of his past once and for all.

A music video directed by late actor Heath Ledger in support of Modest Mouse's single "King Rat" has made its debut. This animated video criticizes whaling as something which can endanger whale existence. It ends with a statement dedicated to "The Dark Knight" star, "This began with our friend, a great defender of life, and was completed in his spirit."

The concept of "King Rat" video is based on Ledger's "vision, brave and unapologetic in its nature [which] marry his love of bold and original music with his impassioned stance against the illegal commercial whale hunts taking place of the coast of Australia each year." Proceeds from this video's downloads in its first month of release will go toward Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an international non-profit organization committed to ending the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans.

Ovation TV Secures Right to 'Heath Ledger: A Tribute'

An hour-long documentary special will be dedicated to Heath Ledger. Cable channel Ovation TV has acquired the rights to air "Heath Ledger: A Tribute" from Australian production company World Wide Entertainment and will air it in U.S. this August.

"Throughout his short career, Heath Ledger seemed a star destined to burn brightly and leave a lasting mark," said Kris Slava, senior VP programming for Ovation TV. "This documentary is a warm, honest portrayal of the actor and the man, and features footage that has never been seen in America. The 62nd Cannes Film Festival has played host to the premiere of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". On Friday, May 22, the movie that sees the final performance of late actor Heath Ledger got a red carpet treatment at Grand Theatre Lumiere in Cannes, France, celebrating its first time screening.

For the special occasion, director Terry Gilliam was joined by several cast members, including Andrew Garfield, Lily Cole and Verne Troyer, as well as producers Samuel Hadida and Amy Gilliam. None of the three actors sharing Ledger's role as Tony in the film, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell, were spotted on the red carpet.

Heath Ledger 'Imaginarium' Footage Shown in 2009 Cannes' Opening Ceremony

A snippet of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" shown during the opening ceremony of 2009 Cannes Film Festival has brought forth the first real look at Heath Ledger's final movie performance. In the 15-seconds footage, Ledger is seen portraying lead character Tony in a white suit, wearing also a white mask.

The sneak peek was part of the section wherein a long montage of clips from different films that will be screened in the festival, including Ang Lee's "Taking Woodstock", Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and Sam Raimi's "Drag Me to Hell". The video of the entire ceremony can be seen via Canal+, while the montage starts on the 21:27 mark.

Four New 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' Photos Found

DVD Forum has got its hands on four brand new photos from Terry Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". Three of the pictures are the film's stills, and each captures Heath Ledger as Tony, Lily Cole as Parnassus' daughter Valentina and Christopher Plummer as the very own Doctor Parnassus. Meanwhile, the last image is a set photo, displaying director Terry Gilliam giving instruction to Plummer.

New images aside, this fantasy drama which features Ledger's last performance has got its first domestic screening in Los Angeles Tuesday night, May 5. Held by U.S. sales rep Cinetic Media, the screening was attended by major independent buyers. Entertainment Weekly reported that "buyers are currently circling the film", while The Hollywood Reporter claimed filmmakers are looking for "a studio-level deal with studio-level prices".

Participating in the hype of the 2009 Oscars which has just been wrapped up on Sunday, February 22, is a special edition of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". Talking about his dream job to direct any "Batman" movies, helmer Brett Ratner suggested that the first spin-off movie made from the bat-themed superhero series should be about Joker. To MTV News, the man behind "X-Men: The Last Stand" said that exploring Joker's origin as the Red Hood would be "really cool".

U.S. Attorney's Office Officially Closes Criminal Case in Heath Ledger's Accidental Death

The case is closed. A law enforcement official said Wednesday, August 6 that the U.S. Attorney's Office has closed the investigation into Heath Ledger's accidental death by drug overdose early this year. Not only federal prosecutors have decided not to pursue a criminal case into how the late actor obtained the painkillers that contributed to his death, but also they file no charges in the case.

Ledger was found dead in his Soho apartment on Jan. 22. He was 28 years old. Following an autopsy, authorities determined the actor died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs for pain, anxiety and sleep. They have since then tracked down on who contributed the substances to him. Heath's former fiancee Michelle Williams and ex-girlfriend Helena Christensen are among the people who have been involved in the investigation.

Rumor has it that Heath Ledger and fiancee Michelle Williams are facing serious problems which may result in their split.

Australian magazine, NW, brings the report to the surface, claiming Heath has postponed his wedding to Michelle indefinitely, sparking rumors the pair are experiencing serious problems in their relationship.

Heath Ledger Is to Marry Michelle Williams

It seems that the wedding bell will ring sooner rather than latter for Heath Ledger and fiancee Michelle Williams. The movie hunk was reportedly spotted getting a marriage license in New York with his bride-to-be.

Ledger and Williams first met while they were filming gay cowboy film "Brokeback Mountain". They confirmed their engagement in August 2005 and already have a one-year old daughter, Matilda Rose Ledger.

Heath Ledger Won't Play "Dirt Music"

Forced to make choice between starring in "The Dark Knight" and "Dirt Music", Heath Ledger ultimately made a decision to walk out the latter project, director Phillip Noyce has confirmed to Moviehole.

With Ledger's departure, the film therefore only has Rachel Weisz in the supposedly high profile cast lineup. So far, there is no word yet on who may fill in the seat left by the Australian actor.

Details Revealed on Batman Sequel

At last the details of "Batman Begins" sequel have been unveiled. Warner Bros. Pictures' President of Production Jeff Robinov has just made an announcement on Monday, August 1 concerning the project. Titled "The Dark Knight", this second installment of the superhero will still be under the direction of Christopher Nolan with Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Apart from Bale, Heath Ledger has also been confirmed to be in the cast as The Joker. Jonathan Nolan will pen the scripts based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer while Emma Thomas also Charles Roven seat as the film's producers. Filming production is planned to begin by early 2007 to meet a 2008 release.

Numbers of Hollywood celebrities have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The lucky stars among the 120 other executives set to receive the invitations on Wednesday including Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eric Bana and Keira Knightley.

"Two years ago the Academy decided to slow membership growth, and to become even more selective in choosing members," Academy President Sid Ganis said on the actors' choosing. "Instead of inviting every proposed person who has achieved the minimum qualifications for his or her branch, the membership committees are selecting the most exceptionally qualified names from those lists."

Ledger Won't Replace Crowe in Luhrmann's Untitled Film Epic

Heath Ledger has turned down the chance to replace Russell Crowe in Baz Luhrmann's new $150 million untitled film epic, which reportedly will be set around the Japanese bombing of Darwin, Australia, in 1942.

The Winners of the 2005 NSFC

While "Brokeback Mountain" is a big winner at the 11th annual Critics' Choice Awards, "Capote" on the other hand is the Best Film of 2005 according to the National Society of Film Critics. Aussie Actor Heath Ledger A Daddy for the 1st Time

Aussie actor Heath Ledger is a dad for the first time when fiancee Michelle Williams gave birth to their very first child on Friday. It's a daughter and she's named Matilda Rose Ledger. Details on the baby's vital statistic remained undisclosed.

It is reported that Matilda was born in Brooklyn in New York where the couple currently residing.

It's All About Girl

The not-yet married couple, Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams, has discovered the sex of their soon to born baby. It is going to be a girl. Wow, the couple reportedly was very delighted.

Williams is expected to give birth in the next few weeks. Though, she's not yet planning on a marriage. "I had a few fantasies about a husband and a wedding when I was a little girl. But I'm really happy with things just the way they are right now," the actress said.

Ledger & Williams Expecting Baby

Heath Ledger and girlfriend Michelle Williams are said to have waiting for a child together this fall. Though neither of the stars' representatives have confirmed on the baby-on-board story, per the New York Post, the lovers have been telling friends that they really expecting media attention and publication on it.
