August 01, 2008 09:08:10The hospitalization of veteran actress Elizabeth Taylor has become talk of the town. A representative for her in fact was quick to set the record straight on that matter, issued a statement confirming the star is fine despite her hospital visit.
The National Enquirer broke the news that Liz was put on a life-support machine after suffering from congestive heart failure. It is also claimed that her children were called to her bedside. The report cited what the site dubbed as simply "a friend". Britain's Daily Mail published a similar account too.
Elizabeth Taylor Signs Auction Deal with Christie's

The auction house Christie's has obtained exclusive rights to handle the future sales of Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry, artwork, memorabilia, clothing and other personal possessions, it was announced Wednesday Sept 20th in New York. The exclusive rights come after both parties agreed on some points and signed deal.
"When the items I've collected are cared for by other people I hope they will be loved and respected in a sharing way," said Taylor. "Eventually, they will be passed on to others ... but not too soon!"

Retired actress Elizabeth Taylor, who is known to be suffering from a number of severe illnesses, cut a red ribbon to signify the new UCLA Clinical AIDS Research and Education Center's official opening Friday and announced the creation of the Elizabeth Taylor Endowment Fund, which will support the center through grants and private donations.
''Acting is, to me now, artificial," said Taylor to The Associated Press. "Seeing people suffer is real. It couldn't be more real. Some people don't like to look at it in the face because it's painful. But if nobody does, then nothing gets done. I can't sit back and be complacent, and none of us should be. I get around now in a wheelchair, but I get around," she continued. Also attending the event was rocker Tom Petty and actress Carrie Fisher.
