Country music singer Dierks Bentley, who was born on November 20, 1975, dropped his debut album "Don't Leave Me in Love" in 2001 under Dangling Rope Records. Two years later, he was signed to Capitol Nashville Records and released his self-titled first major-label album in August. Through single "What I Was Thinkin'", he claimed his fame as the track peaked at number 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and climbed to number 22 on Billboard Hot 200 Singles chart.

In addition to his album's success, Bentley received two prestigious honors in 2004. He scooped a prize for Breakthrough Video of the Year at 2004 CMT Music Awards. He was also named as Top New Artist by Academy of Country Music in the same year.

As a follow up to his self-titled effort, Bentley once again entered recording booth for another album. He dropped "Modern day Drifter" in May 2005. Out of eleven new songs in the record, three of them charted on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Lead single "Lot of Leavin' Left to Do" sit at number 3, while second single "Come a Little Closer" and third single "Settle for a Slowdown" both landed atop on the chart.

Bentley's talent was then spotted by Country Music Association and he won CMA Awards for Horizon Award, which is known as Best New Artist title now. Besides, he was also invited to be a member of Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country music radio program. The induction took place on October 1, 2005 and made Bentley standing as the third youngest member after Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner.

In his third album "Long Trip Alone, which arrived in stores in 2006, Bentley explored his songwriting talent and contributed a writing credit on all 11 singles in the album. Like previous albums, this record also produced country hit singles, such as "Every Mile a Memory" and "Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)", the two single claiming number one spot on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Not enough with only being a singer, Bentley stepped deeper in the music industry by serving as a producer in his first compilation album "Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory". Beside listing his tracks from previous efforts, he also included two new materials for the record. In one of the new tracks, he teamed up with fellow country singer Sarah Buxton.

Bentley's next album "Feel That Fire" meanwhile will be available in the market sometime in February 2009. Its title track, co-written by himself collaborating with Brett Beavers and The Warren Brothers, has made its way out in late September 2008. The song peaked at number 8 on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and at number 3 on Canadian Radio and Records Country Singles chart.
